On the economic front, UK trade figures are due out at 09:30. Market consensus is for a visible trade deficit for March of £8.40bn, which would represent an improvement from February's deficit of £8.77bn.
Panmure Gordon notes that since the trading update covering the 18 weeks to February 4th, trading is likely to have deteriorated due to the weather, "but the key focus should be on whether management remains confident it can prepay the fixed notes within the Unique securitisation, thus avoiding cash trap," the broker believes.
"As the roll-out of the Beacon pub contract grows in significance, we expect that management will consider an update on the performance benefits of this strategy," Dawson added. Beacon is Enterprise's managed tenancy format.
"The last update informed the market that the level of business failures was running at a lower level. Whether this is due to the worst pubs having already been sold or a genuine improvement in trading conditions is difficult to quantify. However, any signs of improving failure rates should be taken as encouraging given that the immediate direct benefit to the group is lower costs of supporting struggling tenants. The key issue is whether this trend is truly established and sustainable," suggests Charles Stanley's James Dawson.
Earnings per share are seen retreating to 10.2p from 10.8p last year and, as Charles Stanley observed, the company does not pay a dividend and is unlikely to resume doing so in the near future
Pubs group Enterprise Inns is set to serve up interim figures, with broker Charles Stanley noting that declines in revenue, profit before tax and earnings per share are expected. Despite that, it still thinks the shares are a speculative play on the sector and are worth a punt. The consensus is forecasting sales will slide to £330.0m from £346.0m at the interim stage in 2011, while profit before tax is tipped to dip to £69.0m from £74.0m the year before.

i think we'll see a few more following morgan stanley's lead with a NOTIFICATION OF MAJOR INTEREST IN SHARES
My local ETI watering hole has most definitely picked up, admittedly there was a quiet few weeks after Xmas ‘not uncommon’ and the land lord was going to let it go, but they cut him a new deal from what I gather, he’s certainly a lot happier any waze, There’s a nice steady stream of punters in the week, Friday night heaving! Sat afternoon blooming good crowd! Sat night heaving! Sunday dinner heaving! Sunday night (quiz night) good crowd! Monday night poker night fair few! Not to mention home dart’s matches and crib matches with other pubs, This pub’s certainly giving more the average 5% I can feel it and see it, just like the old time’s and about time! ETI (in statement) Despite these challenges, we are confident that our long-term strategy of improving the quality of our estate and the profitability of our publicans is providing clear evidence of operational stability and increasing success. http://www.stockmarketwire.com/article/4306571/Enterprise-Inns-average-net-income-per-pub-up-5pct.html

like enterprise inns has been completely hammered as i has been in recent times, what i like when i am looking for bargain shares is when the company states it has had a strong start to the year, that to me is a great sign that eti will ,given a bit of time will be rerated significantly up from it's current position, statements like that you would want to hear in a good growth company let alone in a share like eti that has been hamered and are in a recovery position. Currently 0.4925p mmmmm watch this space for a recovey to £1.00p plus in the near future i say,
BUY, Enterprise Inns have significant recovery potential, i second that, i guess that statement more or less seconds my guesstimate statement of a possible £1.00 to £1.50p near future price.
have now come out with a buy recommendation on eti today but thy haven't given a price target,i wonder if there will be anymore today.
Buy on any dip I say!
seems deutsche bank agrees with me, new target price £1.05p good old deutsche we think a like.
i am sad that my local pub has been sold by eti and turned into a house, but that is where i am very confident in the company they are getting rid of the dead wood and expanding the sucessful ones,i think the next 2 set of results will surprise the market on their progress.
all the really short term sellers have gone now, onwards and upwards from this point on now to £1 plus :)
anyone looking at this share just read the latest RNS,from a company that was on it's knees i think eti are making a very good recovery indeed, the main thing for me as well is they are making excellant progress on the debt reduction front.
they intend to have 300 by the end of the financial year.
the beacon pubs statement that they continue to deliever net income uplifts of 30% from the 110 pubs and they intend to have 150 by march and then 300 by december.
looks like it has settled now so i'm in and a very happy invester at this price,i feel this is as good as finding something you like down the shop you always wanted and it's now at a bargain price as well,i love bargains,my personal target here is £1.00P to £1.50p in six months, broker targets are just short term, although panmure's is not bad at 87p,i would say thats achievable qiute a bit before the next results.
i am going to wait for the shares to settle down and the profit takers to go today than i am in.i totally agree with panmure's price target of 87p,that could be conservative as the months progress,i liked the news yesterday, excellant progress from where they were, they are going forward strongly now,i should soon pick up a bargain today just waiting now for the quick in and out protit takers to go then im in,so keep selling.
Hedge, do you have a way of posting same message on all boards? ETI is a buy up to 80p IMO!! Pile in!
Take a look at API - They have just released news regarding takeover approach
