Good morning Romaron
I guess your paying for this FT site, what does it say under Forecasts?
I was also think who are these analysts, does AB give them bit hard time now because they were hard on him the years before?
Clearly analysts have not worked out a double FCF next year on same oil prices.
Then they would be all over it.
Guess only risk now is 50 oil for two straight years, then we make the RFC schedule until 2021 but not much more.
But how likely is that? Extremely low in my opinion
Hi AK - just doing a bit of reflection. I came across this one which isn't in your list:
The Bank of New York Mellon Corp. (Investment Management)
AS OF 02 NOV 2019
51.04m 3.01% https://markets.ft.com/data/equities/tearsheet/profile?s=ENQ:LSE
I realise these lists are a bit hit and miss and they certainly don't include Hargreaves or Barclays that many on here will hold their shares with. I'm with SelfTrade (Equiniti) and AB hold his in Jefferies and neither show in your list. My reason for posting is that I was checking to see if any of the analysts who attended the CMD have company holdings.
Aberdeen once had a shareholding (c. 3% from memory) in 2015 and they had a representative at the presentation. I caught Barclays and BMO as well but couldn't really catch the names of the others who asked a question in QA. One sounded like Soros but I could be mistaken.
Just going through things and sometimes expressing your thoughts on here trigger some posters who might have something useful to add. I am expecting some fresh holdings as you can only put a stock in purdah for so long until the returns and ratios become deafening. At the moment it seems we are priced for oil at sub $40 and declining reserves whilst shale is the new sliced bread.
Thanks for the list.
There hasn't been any RNS about reduced holdings since last 6 months! Instead, we have seen constant buying from the CEO and Chairman! When ENQ disputed Cairn write down of the Kraken reserves, Market did not recognise it for some reason. IF it was any other stock, we would have seen 20% jump easily. May be in the update from ENQ following that incident, they have not worded it quite confidently why they disputed Cairn write down.
Nevertheless there is a solid support at 18p and above. Soon this will rise like GKP. GKP went down to some 30s or low teens and look where it is now. Missed the GKP rise but don't want to miss the ENQ rise! Hopefully we will see the re-rate next year! Holding tight! ATB
romaron, the update frequency is very important and of course the quality of the source. I checked the two Aberforth funds and 1 of Mars (the date stated in the FT ) they had together 125,5 million Enquest shares). Why FT has 151 million shares I do not know. My source comes directly from the fund manager/fund company.
Hi Aliaskent - It doesn't really explain why your figures appear light for Aberforth & Baillie compared to EnQuest's figures. I realise there are a myriad of holdings out there but not those above 3%. These particular discussions about holdings always drift into inconsequence. It's like doing a picture puzzle with missing pieces.
romaron, you should not see the list I uploaded as a complete share holder list. This is only a list from Fund companies with open ended funds reporting their holdings. There are a lot of fund companies out there not reporting and probably with Enquest holdings.
Ask IR. The figures aren't always reliable and I doubt it is anything sinister.
Exactly Weny,
Something below 51 now for some reason.
I think AB made some deal with someone to buy x amount of shares over x months.
These two changes matches fairly well when I checked last time
Yes but i mean that if the participated with their 51M shares they would have 73M after the rights issue, and now they have 51M again for some reason?
Hi Weny
Employee trust had 73 169 367
4,32% in 8 March update.
I made a print screen for myself
Hi Aliaskent - afraid it confuses me even more. I've been (loosely) following the major shareholders using EnQuest.com major shareholders and the FT. Morningstar I gave up on.
https://markets.ft.com/data/equities/tearsheet/profile?s=ENQ:LSE and they seldom agree. Against your list taking two of the largest:
Aberforth You 114m FT 151m ENQ 126m
Baillie You 36m FT 94m ENQ 86m
If you ask a company's IR they will say that the figures are to the best of their ability and they rely on holders informing them. Same must apply to others that make lists. It says "notifiable holdings" but I'm pretty sure nobody follows it to the letter. I think the only reliable figures are when a company is undergoing a merger/takeover or a rights issue for example and in the RI prospectus Sept 18 Aberforth had 105m and Baillie 70m before 3/7 RI.
I would imagine the absence of the employees trust is just that they don't come under mutual fund. There will be intelligence in what you've found; just what it means escapes me for the present. With the price where it is we can agree that some have sold. It isn't shorters judging by the amounts on loan or recorded shorts.
I just checked with FCA and Euroclear. Shorts (above .50 %) ZERO, stock on loan Sept 2.69%
For comparison PMO is shorts 5.63% and stock on loan Sept 26.37%. If anybody can get Markit figures they are more accurate and up to date for stock on loan.
Keep up the good work, we'll get there eventually
The trustees of the EnQuest Employee Benefit Trust (EBT), which currently owns 51,628,456 Ordinary Shares, representing approximately 4.4% of the issued ordinary share capital of the Company, have irrevocably undertaken to take up in full its entitlement under the Rights Issue in respect of the Unallocated Shares held in the EnQuest EBT, subject to and to the extent that the Company and/or another member of the Group provides the Trustees with sufficient funds to do so. The Trustees have also agreed to vote and/or procure the vote of all of its holdings of Unallocated Shares in favour of the Resolutions in accordance with the terms of the EBT Deed.

Hi Pelle.
Did not the Enq employee trust had 51 Million shares before the Rights issue?
Hi aliaskent,
I know, but that that was a major change on the the top list at Enq site.
But no-one comment here
And mine on 65. ;)
The link does not work for me.
My name should be at number 57 on that list lol
Hi Pelle!
Enq employee trust is not included here. I have no insight in their portfolio holdings.
Thanks aliaskent,
Even if not included in this list I wonder what happen with Enq employee trust?
Aug they had 73 mill shares and now fall out of top list so below 51 mill.
Can it be these shares AB buying at an average over a time period?
Here is the list. https://1drv.ms/x/s!ArYe1LoyK-rKjRDFbhVRv9n_wkIi
I also have the historical holdings. No major changes the last 6 month exept for Aberforth Smaller Companies Trust. They increast with 8 million shares from last month.
