There can be as much worldwide demand for Tz coal as you like, but unless Edenville can dig it, process it and get it to the gate there's no point talking about demand.
Up 7 fold due to the Ukraine war.
African leaders are wanting to use more fossil fuels.
Will EDL be able to take advantage of the rising demand in TZ and the surrounding countries?
Let's see what the next update says.
The weather is drying up, the rain being the excuse/reason for the lack of production, so, we should now be seeing the previous sales record being broken and they wont need to produce a lot to achieve that!
As always fingers crossed.
Well the weather has been favourable this month so production and sales will be approaching the said target of 2k tonnes, which for EDL will be a record although a long way short of the 2017/18 forecast it will be progress.
I'm assuming of course that all is well onsite!
Nice to see nothing cheaper than 5.5 as per yesterdays trade too.
Next update crucial in getting some confidence back in the stock
Is now drawing to a close. The forecast for the next week or so to be virtually dry, so this month should see EDL's production achieving it's intended target, which should be accompanied by an update. The markets reaction to that should be something to look forward to.
The market will only believe it when they see it!
Judging by the last update on the late increase in production at the end of March, the continuing improving conditions should see a more stable production!
No change in the bid though?
Looks like the offer has just moved up and widened the spread. Those round number of shares trades (yesterday 20k and today 25 / 50k) always worry me when they are clearly sells.
I'm not getting too excited just yet but as usual GLA and have a good weekend.
... of trades. Was even tempted myself.
News?
Interestingly the bit about currently only 50% run rate out of the 8 hours a day so they could do double shifts to increase output.
So 110k a month by June if the numbers are correct against a market cap of about 1.5m .
Could be a re rate if all goes well
I may be misreading the RNS, if they work a 5 day week the processing of coal between March 20 and 31 would be over 10 days , it sounds like only 6 days for the washer to be running @ ?? number of hours . If they have produced over 500 tonnes in that period, then with the weather forecast looking favourable over the next couple of weeks at least, there should be a substantial increase in output this month, with hopefully an update early May.
Browns - likewise.
Reasonably positive update this morning, albeit limited. Some definite green shoots in terms of production numbers.
Onwards and upwards? GLA
They issued a RNS, but there was so much more that could have been added, if only they stopped and thought about it.
There's very little rain forecast over the next week or so, so production should continue!
No comment on the disputes, Upendo etc?
I just hope this is the beginning of a period of positive updates from the company moving forward.
They probably have a shed load of shares to shift
Why the Rise
Has there been a leak
Or is this, insider dealing going on .,
Esquimo - there probably is good demand for our coal but this is the big issue we face (4 May 2022 RNS) -
"The Company continues to see growing demand for its coal, at increasingly favourable prices, with a number of buyers keen to enter into offtake agreements upon confirmation of stable production and surety of supply from operations"
Upon confirmation of.....surety of supply. We can't give that the way things are.
So all this bluster from the BoD about new contacts, possible sale agreements etc etc is all, well, nonsense. If we cant guarantee supply, then interest is limited. And that leads to stockpiling of ROM or fines which then, when it rains, become too wet to wash.
SoS, fair point.
Another point not commented on is the absence of the strong demand for the coal that they, at this moment in time are unable to produce.
£1m Mcap, cutting it a bit fine.

I think the question is, what has gone right since the new people took over?
Are easing this coming week to be dry over Easter.
Whether that is a sign of a shorter wet season remains to be seen.
An explanation of the several months before production picks up is warranted, what damage has been caused by the heavier rains, it was stated that they were spending time preparing for this wet season? What has gone wrong,?
With the increase in the coal price, what is now the break even level of production?
The price per tonne of the last 3 months production was hardly generous!
Tuppence coming up !
Daw
What I listed was the state of play 'today', so not sure what spread over many years has got to do with the price of fish.
Saus,
I only saw two (2) questions in your original msg:
1. "Does it matter much who are the major shareholders, how much they hold and if they had a TR1?."
2. "Have I missed anything?"
The first one I answered with my humble opinion.
The second I took to be rhetorical, but if pushed I would have answered with a resounding 'YES' (spread over many years.
Jenk,
Or if you think what I've written is a load of sh it e, then let's hear your view on where this is heading between now and the end of June 2023. We can all hide behind a 'Load of sh-te' comment but why don't you have the gonads to suggest an alternative?
Jenk,
Is that your opinion of Edenville? - lol
