BA must be close to placing an order for what I would imagine to be several thousand of these new luggage tags. I just wonder whose responsibility it would be to replace broken or damaged tags ,Densitron, Design Works, BA or jointly. Their ability to withstand the rough and tumble of International travel and baggage handlers long term must be a concern. Hopefully the field tests have been thorough. Has anyone heard any news about Centro who have trialling the new digital timetable and passenger information boards . That could be another lucrative contract Quite a lot.simmering away under the surface.
still not at 40p+ lol
yep...until buying conviction, why buy (more)?
u r right...but I am not convinced (enough) to double up...yet
It's the market scpticism over the turnaround that's created this opportunity in the first place, Jolly. Like some scepticism is justified (I'm a little sceptical) but the market is clearly TOO spectical.
given drift...and market skepticism over turnaround?
To counter the last point: 1) Sometimes people don’t realise the ingenuity of something until they use it – this happened at work. We all had one screen, when we were told we’d be getting two screens many people said ‘How unnecessary, I like things as they are’, then once everyone got two screens everyone quickly said how brilliant it is to have two screens. I’m sure people said similar things about the internet or facebook etc because it existing. Doesn’t mean those naysayers won’t come on board. 2) Even if the electronic bag tag isn’t needed, it sort of doesn’t matter because it’s clear many airlines see it as a problem that needs fixing and they’re the ones who matter. To counter the first point: Air-France’s technology has not even been trialed yet, it’s linked to their frequent flyer programme only (which severely limits the number of customers this eTag will be available to), no airline has the infrastructure in place for this system to work yet (http://skift.com/2014/04/02/3-new-ways-airports-are-using-technology-to-better-track-luggage/#), and their system definitely is not free. Summary: This technology in general improves customer experience by quickening up the checking-in process and it helps prevent bags from getting lost I presume. It is clearly the future. About DSN specifically – I’m concerned about whether their technology is superior to their peers and, until this is trailed on a much larger scale, I don’t see how we can know whether the technology is safe, secure, and problem-free. Having said all that DSN’s electron bag tag must clearly work for BA to trail it and praise it as the way forward, and that speaks volumes! The fact BA have already earmarked money towards this sort of thing is also very encouraging so, considering BA have already begun trailing it, DSN could potentially be sitting on a gold mine. Even if they’re not it clearly wouldn’t take much (a rumour, a further trail, etc) to drive the share price up significantly. Therefore I intend to research DSN further and, providing I don’t find anything catastrophic, I plan to invest here in the coming months. Strong Speculative Buy.
Clogheen, Thanks for posting that link. It's triggered my interest in this share, along with the fact that both jolly & yourself like it (and I consider you both to be far better investors than I am). Funnily enough I did some research into this recently without even meaning to. I went on an insurance trip to Birmingham airport where they said bags won't be lost with them because they had started using electronic bag tags! Anyway I've done some further research and this is what I've found out: How it works & good points: - DSN's electronic bag tags are remarkable easy to use (you just need to hold the phone over the bag), they can be used multiple times over a 5 year period - The electronic bag tags also allow you to track your bag’s location - The electronic bag tag is “compatible with all smart phones” ….(more on this in a moment) - British Airways estimates the new electronic bag tag will cut baggage drop off times from 3 minutes to 35 seconds (80% faster). It will therefore presumably cut down check in times considerably, which is great for an airline because it probably means they can fit more flights in. - British Airways said how it dramatically improves the customer experience – making it smoother, quicker, and easier - British Airways plan to spend £5bn from 2013 – 2018 on various new things including new technologies to improve customers’ experience of flying with them. - Quantas developed their own electronic tag in 2010 but, due to its design, it has very limited use (can only be used in Australia). Denistron’s technology is clearly superior in this instance. Bad points / potential problems: - Air France-KLM have developed their own technology in this field where customers can book their tickets online and then, using their “eTag”, just leave their bags at a drop off point. So there’s clearly some decent competition out there which means either BA doesn’t use DSN or, at the least, it ruins DSN’s pricing and margins in this way. - (I said more on smart phones later and here it is…) what about those without a smart phone? (or the visually impaired for that matter)? - They say it’s compatible with all smart phones yet the trial in October/November 2013 used Microsoft phones – why not do a trial with iPhones when that’s clearly the most commonly used smart phone model? - How secure is the data held by the electronic bag tag? Could it be hacked in any way? - DSN’s technology has only been trailed thus far so there’s presumably going to be some teething problems – but I’d love to proven wrong here! - Will airlines charge for this service? I can’t work out whether they will or not but that could impact on this technology’s usage. - Some people have said that this technology isn’t needed / it’s fixing a non-existent problem. (Continued
Happy
looks like you're right - it'll take a long while. I've been trying to figure out for a while why there is so little buying / selling activity here. Plenty to shout about in terms of company progress (both down and up), but there is just no interest. I'm off to buy a megaphone and tell people that there's a small British company floating around doing good things with large contracts underway!
yep will be building position (only have 45k shares atm)
Does look positive for a turnaround,,,,,,,,,happy to hold :-0)),,,,,,,,,,,,,DYOR

may take a while...but it is the start of the turnaround (fingers crossed)
Should be a good day tomorrow, pretty small volume today, and it should be in the news! well done BoD, heading the right way.
The buy is dropping...
Not many shares at all here. Should assist a rise easily
Getting a 5.77 buy now... Needs a bit more of attention before I give it a go....
Trading update and result of AGM Wed, 11th Jun 2014 14:02 RNS Number : 3870J Densitron Technologies PLC 11 June 2014 ? Densitron Technologies plc Trading update and result of AGM Densitron Technologies plc ("Densitron" or the "Company" or the "Group") announces that, at the Company's annual general meeting held earlier today, all of the resolutions proposed to shareholders were duly passed and today provides an update on its trading activities. I am pleased to report that a number of the projects being worked on during 2013 have now come to fruition. Together with an increase in the core business this has given rise to a 14% increase in the orders booked and a 35% increase in the orderbook compared to the first 5 months of 2013.
I think that that is the most concise trading report that I have ever read! Not sure how orders are both up 14% and 35% - little more detail would really help.
Buy:(
Any thoughts on tomorrow's AGM? We certainly need some positive statements re current business levels and future prospects after such a poor set of year-end results. I hope Densipaper products are selling well and that some progress is being made re Newcastle property. The Company must regain its credibility with the Markets if the s.p. is to recover to more realistic levels.
never seen myself in sales / marketing, but thanks for the offer :) I'll try and catch up with him next time he's in town though - there's a few folk around here may be interested in doing something, I'm actually quite serious about it, but don't have the time at the moment to go it alone, and part time directors are never a good idea for a start-up.
Happytom, you simply must speak to G.F. re your ideas ! He might even offer you a job! Regards BtB
