Have held DGO shares since approx 1997. If they are compulsory bought from me due to the possible ENOC bid am i liable to any Capital Gains Tax. ??? Very novice at this game so any advice much appreciated
ross i think he has 2 choices 1) he sells them through his bank 2) he sells them through a broker capita assets offer a sale service ( might be expensive so research ) a broker would require you to open an account you transfer your holding to the broker they then hold the shares for you in a nominee account then you can instruct them to deal ........................................................ my personal opinion is to do nothing he should check his holding at the registrars office ( capita assets ) i would ( personally ) wait until the takeover is complete then he would then get a cheque for the proceeds there is of course a possibility that the deal does not go through if your friend has recently received a dividend cheque then he knows what he holds any news re the takeover will automatically be sent to him pateince is a virtue cat
Hi, Sorry to ask this here but hoping to get a helpful investor answer this query as I just don't have the experience. I've a friend who bought this share 20 years ago and has the original certificates. How would he go about selling them? Can he call up a firm like TD Waterhouse and sell them this way? Hoping someone can point me in the right direction, thanks.
Dug my certificate out I'm getting old... On 20 June 1997 I bought at the old midland bank at 0.0325!!! So even lower than 1/2p.!!! Just found something else from 1998 where ENOC take 46% at 15p from satellite overseas limited.
ENOC will pay more guys. Dragon is a perfect fit for them to expand their upstream presence, I fully believe this is an initial number, the consensus is anything over 815p and its theirs. I'm expecting 850p to be honest and won't be selling below that. Hold out for more, it will come.
the price I paid was 1-2p - I always thought it was 1999 as remember the millennium bug shortly after. I used my annual bonus and me mum (yes yes !!!) matched what I put in. The certificate is in a file somewhere but I've not traded a single one since...
I was looking for something a bit higher than 735p too. I believe that they need over 75% of remaining shareholders to accept the offer. Don't think that will happen and i don't think the market does either. Something around 850p/900p be would be more acceptable i think.
So, it would appear that ENOC think the billions of dollars that Dragon have in the bank should not be taken into account on the valuation of the company.( they could always distribute the bank balance to us shareholders ) Can I ask what the offer would be if we had $10m in the bank? Well if they offer £10 I might be tempted to accept but £7.35 is very much undervaluing the company.
Yes I bought at 3p but do not have the paperwork with me to give a date. The consolidation took my holding down from 6000 to 320, then bought another 3000 at 34p and still hold.
I had a few at 2p-ish at that time (not sure what year)...but there was a consolidation exercise around then....1 for 35 or something like that....
He may mean in 1994 -95
Price in 1999 was between 15 and 23p never down at 1/2p.
Shaking the tree for shares this morning
van 1997....................patience is a virtue..............not always though! cat
old it's not even electronic - a share certificate ! Paid lovely dividends over the years too. Put it this way - I will buy three more BTLs with the proceeds.
Yeah what Joe bloggs wants and what the big boys want is two totally different kettles of fish. It will either be brown envelopes and 7.35 or rejected and i imagine an offer nearer 8.00. The large holders and back room deals will define. What an immense hold for you here.
been a few bid attempts over the years.. Check out advfn mate as some good info on there.... Think people after £8.00
Well i hope i would have them in that year unless i was a very late starter. Interested in tomorrow to see if continues towards 7.35 as press and late RNS or falls back a tad.
ive been in this since 1999 at 1/2p before you even had pubes.....
a few think it looks a good deal and will b e taken.
Some big orders going through 75,000 buy @ £6.83, very nice
offer of 735p from ENOC
10% UP YIPPPPEEEE
Surely there must be a time limit when they have to confirm our pull out.
ENOC approached Dragon a day under 2 months ago now. Should be a development soon.
