AIM-listed homeland security services provider Digital Barriers has acquired the assets, intellectual property and customer contracts of ThruVision Systems. The purchase was made for £0.95m in cash, to be paid once the acquistion is complete. Digital Barriers believes that ThruVision's technology, namely screening products that can detect objects under a person's clothes, will be of "significant interest" to security and defence organisations around the world and is complementary to other products within the group. ThruVision's latest unaudited accounts for the financial year ended March 31st 2011 reported turnover of £2.30m with an operating loss of £1.12m. AIM-listed homeland security services provider Digital Barriers has bought Codestuff, the Edinburgh-based IP video solutions developer for the security, infrastructure, transportation and defence industries. Codestuff operates primarily in the UK and provides video management system (VMS) software and network video recorder (NVR) servers, in addition to system design and development services that build on its extensive video management platform. It is an existing supplier of VMS technology to Digital Barriers. "The board of directors of Digital Barriers believes that Codestuff brings significant video management IP and system development tools and will enhance the company's ability to offer a leading-edge capability in the design of front-end systems for security technology," the statement said. Digitial Barriers will buy the entire issued share capital of Codestuff for an initial consideration of £750,000, payable on completion. Additional payments of up to the same amount are demand on financial and operational target between completion and March 31st 2014. "This acquisition will allow Digital Barriers to enhance the ways in which our customers use, interact with and respond to the leading-edge technology we already deploy in video surveillance and unattended ground monitoring," said Digital Barriers' Managing Director Colin Evans.

Asia Pacific Region Contract Awards The Board of Digital Barriers plc (AIM: DGB), the specialist provider of advanced surveillance technologies to the international homeland security and defence markets, is pleased to announce the award of two contracts in the Asia Pacific region. Both contracts are with rail transportation operators and will see Digital Barriers provide those operators with technology for onboard video surveillance. The first contract, in South East Asia, is expected to deliver revenue in excess of £800,000 and will be fulfilled over the course of the next 30 months. The second contract, in Australia, is expected to deliver revenue in excess of £120,000 and will be fulfilled over the course of the next two months.

LMW will provide certain manufacturing and repair services to Digital Barriers from its existing premises in Leicester following the transfer of the business. LMW will also continue to provide warranty and repair services to its existing customers on historical product sales.
