Note: According to July RNS, there are 1 million students with access to this platform. However, in the more recent Alan Greenberg interview, Alan states that there are now 3.5 million students with access. It’s been introduced in 2,000 schools so far, out of a possible 70,000 NISA schools (Jul RNS). It will also be rolled out to 2.6m students at approx 6,000 CSC Academy Centres. If the 'rumored' Autumn launch happens, then many more millions of students/parents will be made aware of the LaunchMyCareer platform.
Strange how you repeat post what RJ puts out! Good info though….spotted it earlier!
I'll think you'll find that RJ re-tweeted this post. It's not his work.
I didn’t say it was his work….mearly that he put it out….a retweet is putting it out.
The more I look at the LaunchMyCareer platform, the more I realise what a fantastic resource this is for students. Look at the following example. This is a page of information regarding a career as an Aerospace Engineer.
https://www.launchmycareer.com/careers/aerospace-engineering-and-operations-technologists-and-technicians#WhatsInvolved
For this one career choice, it gives you:-
- A reasonable in-depth description of what the career is all about
- An accompanying industry related video to watch
- What qualifications you’ll need
- Bullet point Tasks of Aerospace Engineer
- Progression Routes
- Where to Study
- What to Study
There’s loads of information on this one career option.
All the above information is available across 830 careers.
(I actually checked this number by downloading the XML sitemap for the Career Explorer web page. There are indeed 830 different ULR’s for different career options)
I can only imagine the man hours needed to put this together.
Not surprised Ankur said the initial response had been ‘tremendous’.
