Ah, now what is happening with CoA. Been in this for so long waiting and waiting and....waiting. So much waiting, is nothing ever going to happen with this.... apart from the spread getting larger and the bid getting lower! Earlier this year started to get somewhat a little more (I wouldn't say excited) uhm, enthusiastic maybe...but now it's just a hard slog. Anyone here have anything to lift up some of us long termers a little, when can we expect any news, it's killing me!? It's even gone SO quiet here on this board. Oh well, suppose I'll keep hanging in there!
Back to negligible volumes on the jse , yesterday could have been the tail end of that persistant seller
Second highest volume number on JSE this year.
Coal prices up 12% this month Time to push forward with Makhado
And suprisingly in the right direction too! Is it the disposal of mooiplaats or an acquisition ....talk about chalk and cheese. ..
unusually high volume on JSE
It will be even more interesting when we can read an article that states that Coal of Africa has ramped up coal production and will be in profit during the next quarter, thus rewarding all it’s long term suffering shareholders. What the company has been good at though, is attracting suspensions due to environmental groups set on stopping progress toward production for one reason or another. For quite a while it’s all “jam tomorrow” which must be testing every shareholders patience by now.
may be worth a punt after trump talking of is love for coal
:+)
Well underlying coal prices continue to rise. And that should have more of an effect now that we're a producer!! On a secondary level will also help with sale of Mooiplaats and Vele.
Would be very nice to see a bounce, and even nice to see the back of Mooiplaats. Am currently holding more shares than I should, which is stopping me buying anymore just yet, or at least until we see some upward sustained movement. Looking back over the years and see that on 24th June 2008 the highest trade of the day was 227.00p and look at where we are now........!!
Are we about to get a bounce? In June we had a big seller on JSE. I believe it was PIC who had 8.3m, and according to company they sold about 5m in June. This continued until mid July and now that selling pressure seems to have abated. They must be finished?! Someone happy to buy today, 100k at 48 gone through. Through 50 ZAr and could get a nice pop. I've also heard the Mooiplaats deal is almost done. It's not just the money received, it's getting it off our books in terms of care and maintenance. I do sense things have changed. Hopefully us long suffering share holders might finally get some reward! If we keep ticking the boxes, someone will snap us up, prob in mid-2018 when all the hard graft is done
Mooiplats has been nearingsale completion for 5 years... I think David Brown is now completely out f touch with any or all private investors...! Can anyone pick anything positive from this!
Update didn't contain anything that hasn't been posted on here. Need to sell Mooiplaats. Deal nearly done I believe
it's been since we've had any meaningful sp rise. April to June 2016 we actually went from (approximately) 2p to 5p, and basically it's been downhill ever since. Today Mr Brown has mentioned in the quarterly report that he is hoping the shareholders will see some, quote, "near term benefits"..............................!!! Anyone hazard a guess as how long "near term" will be - yawn, yawn ??

Talk of action and recovery in 2020 depresses me..... Years of seeing money tied up in a dreadful 'investment' - I use the word investment in the loosest possible terms... May as well have burnt it! Will I still be around to see the benefit when our plan comes to fruition - or should I give these golden ticketys to the grandchildren, and hope they see something from them in their lifetime....!
All legacy issues taken care of. 1 mooiplaats to be sold 2 decision on vele before year end 3 legal and fundraising for makhado 4 buy another cga These are the goals to be completed into 2020 All legacy issues cleared. The current seller lost patience with the sp and are cashing out. I don't mind topping at these levels. Sa will need coal and met coal untill 2040 at least. Gla
From what ive been told Mooiplaats sale is close. A previous deal had been arranged but fell apart after the new mining charter. We've heard it all before but maybe things are close. We are looking for another CGA so hopefully can sell Mooiplaats to fund another. Whilst acquiring Uitkomst was a good first step, it wasn't big enough! We have a quarterly update this week so hopefully can get some production numbers for Uitkomst for month/quarter. I expected us to be re-rated as a producer but that hasn't happened yet. The other thing I noted mentioned on another board was that we are now potentially an acquisition target with further consolidation expected in the sector
I can't read it at the moment I thought it was due a rally and things are getting sorted behind the scenes 50/50 bounce could be 5 to 6 p or could tank under 2p ! Remember I had these years ago at £1.40 And we have massive reserves of good grade coal My thoughts maybe stick a few grand back in and leave in bottom draw!
It's gone very quiet here. Does anyone have a theory why, after finally acquiring a CGA, the share price is just drifting lower? There was a lot of froth when Universal was on the cards, but nothing now. I don't get it.
Ha ha ha! None of those who had been on board were ever seen or heard from again.
Unfortunate connotation of the name Celeste....This Company reminds me of the ship 'Mary Celeste'. Adrift and abandoned...!
Celeste became CFO at Universal. A pretty good move for her. Might be useful when they take us over.
