Been waiting a while to get in below 3450. No bad news RNS, new contracts and Xmas coming. Interim results on 24/11 should be good
"Analysts at Berenberg raised their target price on food manufacturer Cranswick on Wednesday from 3,850.0p to 4,000.0p, stating that even further growth was possible following the group's 'exceptional period'."
I'm not surprised, there wont be that many companies exceeding expectations in this economic climate.
Hopefully £40 broken at last.
strong buying after todays rns
SP is taking its time to get back to that high of 40 quid pre covid.....only a matter of time,
that China is to ban imports of pork from the USA should help CWK.
I work in the industry and I agree, I hold this and Hilton Foods, strong safe companies and ever expanding
Just took a look at Cranswick plc : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wr5UtYbJhpk
They seem like a good defensive stock as verified by their relatively stable price action against the backdrop of high volatility in the FTSE. They have a solid finances with good long term revenue growth and future momentum is underpinned by their recent investments to expand their animal farming and processing complex. I was a little bemused by their purchase of Katsouris brothers and it seems a shame that they have ended their run of being debt free to facilitate their recent investments but this relatively small risk does offer a good case for future net income growth. Ultimately- I found Cranswick to be a compelling Defensive Stock versus other options in the food sector.
trouble at their new poultry site?...the GM has left....
I have made n investment here based on a number of factors including export growth, turnover growth and a reasonable PE. I used to work in finance for one of the competitors and we had an independent review of all UK competition and Cranswick came out tops on just about every metric we looked at.
I dont think its going to get there whilst covid is around.....it may get close and even touch it but till we get back to normal its just going to flucuate in my opinion, their new poultry factory is up and running so think the sp will take off once all settles down, imo...still quite a good safe stock to hold during these times.....they supply supermarkets, you have to be careful about some food companies though just in case they are supply resturants or fast food chains as they are all closed and have furloughed their staff.....
SP now within spitting distance of £40...will it finally get there?
good to see SP recovering and holding well during this pandemic...this is a fantastic company and I hold it as one of my safe stocks.
yes Cranswick and other food companies are doing well....Hilton Foods is way undervalued in my opinion...and Bakkavour 45% rise today? that's ridiculous.....I don't like Bakkavour though and expect that to drop back down....imo....
Market at last waking up to the value here.
Market at last waking up to the value here.
yeah, think it will get there no problem and settle there for a bit
Yes agreed, i wonder where this re rate will end up? £40?
no stopping Cranswick, this is a nice and steady stock, I hold it in my Sipp and I work in the industry...people always have to eat :)
Probably the same thing that spooked today's rise
spooked the 5 pct fall today ?
This is the type of company that Mr. Buffett would like - vertically integrated, strong customer base, slow burner.
Good opportunity in the Far East.
Highly priced - 23x earnings for a capacity constrained company is pricey. Even after the new chicken processing facility in Eye has reached full capacity (increasing revenue by 30%), the company will still be priced around 20x earnings.
Would be interested around 16x earnings (£21.50)
Apologies for not responding sooner. In the short term i intend to hold and buy on any weakness as Swine flu in China would appear to be working to CWK's advantage but the risk is that this could change . I also await confirmation of continued success in developing the Chicken side of the business. IMO there is no doubting the strength of the management in this company, a major plus for me these days.
