Yes 0109 I couldn’t agree more. I don’t understand who moves this share, i.e. is it just the Market Maker, but to me there is neither rhyme nor reason. When they announced growth, so good that they needed to sub some of the manufacturing out (a couple of years ago) the share price tanked from 30 down below 20?
Having read today’s results I wasn’t even expecting a drop in sp. Go figure.
*loose
Batterseafish- it would seem a reliable indicator! That said, given SP action of both CRL and MPAC past 18 mos, would only be sensible that they cut some lose and take profit.
From where I am, MPAC another great opportunity at current prices.
MrBond- would appear some no longer believe CRL offers case for investment, most likely owing to reduced profit and headwinds in light of inflation etc. I beg to differ.
Had CRL’s profit reduced as a result of falling sales growth, I might be alarmed. In this case, however, it’s clear to me that CRL facing challenges beyond its influence. Crucially, the board seems to be negotiating these challenges well, taking protective measures and continuing to drive sales with superb results.
My view- market looking at the bottom line without taking broader context of high inflation, looming recession and war into account. The majority of businesses will face challenges in coming years- some will struggle, others will strive. Todays results tell me that CRL is likely to strive.
Yet again these of a few months ago pointed to the direction of travel. Same with Mpac yesterday.
Don’t get it? Loaded up here more yesterday - yes - Ouch. Is this really being pushed down on share sales. Why… do you think it has sold off 0109?
Robust results in tough environment, board steering business superbly far as I see.
Revenue static, which I consider an achievement given circumstances. Revenue down 19%, as expected with inflation at 9%+. No dividend, prudent during time of crisis.
CRL suffering the same consequences of high inflation as everybody else- no avoiding it, though believe board have done a great job of mitigating. Crucially, continued growth of sales which is impressive:
‘Sales growth momentum maintained in the core business despite the impact of Covid-19:
· Our own branded sales (excluding hygiene products) have grown by 37.7%.
· Sales of retailer own label products increased by 9.5%.
· Contract manufacturing sales increased by 29.3%.
· Total overseas sales have increased by 45.6% to £10.0m (2021: £6.9m).’
Expect sell-off followed by pile-on once results put in context of world today vs last year. Bargain SP this AM, increased holding as believe CRL will see 134p+ again before long.
Ouch....!!

Sure you’re right 0109. This was a multi bagger for me when the mkt cap was 4m, but I’ve made some bad calls on it more recently. Was hoping to switch out of SOS and overload here for the finals but am waiting for further SOS rise before I drop out.
Investor 0109. Thanks for your helpful comments. Might just wait to see an upturn before dipping in.
titeyorkshiregit- preliminary approach made by CRL Jan ‘21, rebuffed by IDP without discussion.
Will CRL approach again? Perhaps, though I doubt IDP will talk as CRL not likely to improve their offer given IDP’s poor performance.
Whilst CRL’s SP reached an all time high Sep ‘21, IDP’s has slid to 30p. IDP’s shareholders might now wish the board had been more open minded.
CRL with cash and states intention to continue making acquisitions. IDP makes for an attractive target to CRL at current valuation, so further approach could be on cards.
Should CRL approach IDP again, I believe CRL’s SP will drop on news before rally back to what I consider reasonable value 100-120p.
My view that CRL currently trading at at heavy discount and SP 120-150p not unrealistic within 12-18mos.
Does anyone think CRL will make a counter bid for innovaderma ? How might this affect CRLs SP ?
Bond- consider it a blessing, that’s where money made.
At 134p 6 mos ago, 60p today and yet numbers don’t offer explanation- in so many words, undervalued. Business has achieved consistent 20-40% ROE and appears will continue to.
Oversold many times before and will be again. Between times, profit to be made and fidgety market to be thanked for it.
Believe SP 120p+ within 12-18 mos.
Unfair share price beaten down because it´s month away from the next rns imo.
Interesting souns like Win Win Win.
Creightons Feather & Down #1 best seller on Amazon.co.uk in Personal Care - Stress & Anxiety Relief category and #19 in overall Beauty category. Also shows as #1 best seller on Boots.com everyday stress category. Pippa said this was one of their best selling products, they must be shifting a few. Made in the UK.
lemonade- Not wanting to be quite so blunt, I’ll say only that it doesn’t seem prudent to sell CRL at this point in time!
In September, the market felt CRL worth 134p. Come March, little more than 50p. Market misstep, methinks!
Believe CRL presents a great buying opportunity at current prices.
Well-run, high quality business and no stranger to navigating crises- CRL has performed consistently for decades and likely to continue.
Contrary to common belief, demand for beauty products tends to rise during tough times. My view- combination of staple consumer and beauty makes CRL more versatile than market may be giving credit for. Current reasonable value 100-120p and 150p within reach.
You have to be stupid to sell crl at this price.
Bought more cheap shares. Thanks sellers!
Bad liquidity
According to current share price we are valued under £50m?
The most recent results implied finishing turnover around £60m
What’s going on???
Lucky man. Time will tell but personally, even if it is a falling knife, I think yoúre getting a good price. My last in was 86 because I thought that was low! GL
MrBond007- suffice to say it isn’t good sense driving SP today. Just as well, as it makes for a great buying opportunity.
My view- CRL worth 110-120p with 150p within reach within 12-18 months. When market sells off high quality and growth, I’m buying.
So it would seem wére all going to stop washing when Russia invades.
