he 400,000 users of Eir's webmail service are experiencing intermittent access to their accounts due to a Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack on the company. A spokesman confirmed that the problem has been coming and going since Wednesday when higher than normal levels of traffic were targeted at the company's servers.
When he "retired" at age 40, Koch had made enough money to be able to fund the start or expansion of several new ventures. These included Filofax, Belgo, Plymouth Gin, Capstone, Betfair, FanDuel, and Auto1 . These have returned between 5 and 53 times his original equity stakes. After LEK, Richard was not part of the management teams of these ventures, but was active in providing not only cash but also counsel on strategy. Richard is fascinated by what makes new ventures successful. He set out his views in The Star Principle: How It Can Make You Ric

regional service provider based in Hanover, Germany has selected the SmartWall® Threat Defense System (TDS) from the leading supplier of real-time DDoS attack mitigation technology, Corero Network Security (LSE: CNS). Across the industry, increasing numbers of enterprise customers are demanding more proactive and sophisticated DDoS protection from their Internet Providers in response to evolving attack techniques. In order to address this demand, htp GmbH has implemented automatic DDoS protection technology from Corero, which has been deemed “unparalleled.“ htp sought the Corero solution to mitigate against the DDoS attacks they were experiencing almost daily. The company had previously used static filters to defend against attacks, which allowed a successful attack to keep one of the carrier’s central systems unavailable for an extended period of time. Robert Remenyi, responsible for planning the internet backbone for htp GmbH, explained how the Corero TDS has allowed them to identify smaller, sub-saturating DDoS attacks on the company’s network. “Around two years ago, we started to examine the peaks of our bandwidth spikes. With FlowAccounting, we have the ability to analyze conspicuous swings, confirming our suspicions. These spikes in bandwidth utilization have actually been DDoS attacks, and they were generally UDP (user datagram protocol) amplification attacks.”
A new report from Corero Network Security, which provides security solutions against distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, shows that 85 per cent of enterprise end users want their Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to offer better protection against DDoS attacks.the To compile its research, the security company polled more than 100 ISPs and 75 enterprise customers in regards to their DDoS mitigation strategies. Corero found that a high number of ISPs still rely on outdated technologies to protect their customers from these attacks. 46 per cent of ISPs divert DDoS traffic to scrubbing centres which is not only an expensive way to deal with the problem but also an extremely slow one that often takes an hour to proceed from detecting the attacks to mitigating them.
Foolish
I'll flush the seller out Must be taking a hit
The seller must be losing money cuz this is the low I'll just wait for the longer run
Should in top risers
Lots of contract wins since profit warnings, got some big deals on pipeline that took longer to secure, must secure now given increase in Ddos attacks
Institutions came in at that price, I'm happy to collect around here for now

Corero Network Security (LSE: CNS) now has the ability to provide a terabit of mitigation capacity with automatic DDoS defense technology at an unprecedented price point, the company said. In response to the recent escalation of large scale DDoS botnets driven by the Internet of Things (IoT), particularly as we move to Terabit sized attacks, the only practical long-term defense strategy mandates Internet service provider and hosting provider involvement. Individual enterprises alone cannot respond to this magnitude of DDoS threat. Corero Network Security provides a defense against DDoS attacks in the most complex environments while enabling a more cost effective economic model than previously available

Three vendors were selected to participate in this decisive phase. According to Robert Remenyi, “Our objective was to maintain system and service availability in the face of a DDoS attack with the assistance of the new technology. The system should impact htp’s networking processes as little as possible and above all, we didn’t want to have to keep implementing changes along the way. Today, with the Corero SmartWall TDS solution deployed in-line, we are protecting all transit connections and thereby the entire infrastructure behind it in a very convenient way. The solution is
