ST tips are irrelevant. I bought these a year ago and they’ve already paid out £1 a share in capital and special dividend and it’s still higher than my buying prices.
First half EBITDA is only useful as history. Second half will be higher and next year far higher. It’s future earnings that dictate the share price for me.
Market makers know that tip followers will bail out if they show an early loss and they are sucking them up already.
Check back in twelve months for a more objective view of prospects because their 5G/mmWave campaign will be more advanced by then.
counter indicator lol
looks pricey on annualised first half ev/ebit multiple over 20 £40m+/(2*£1m)
(I see other plays in space closer to 10 eg mwe)
check calcs
Only reason for price at 405 is due to Winterflood on offer at 410. All other MM’s on offer at 440/450. Wints obviously are selling loads to buyers at below 410 and must be meeting a large sell order. Should see that appear when the work is done.
This has been a boon for all those responding to the major piece of work (18 pages) by Simon Thompson. Getting all those shares for under 410 would have been impossible without someone using the liquidity to dispose of a good lump.
I don’t read anything into the selling because a lot of large shareholders have been hit hard in recent times and are possibly chopping their portfolios around with the inflation and rate change macro issues about.
The research piece confirms everything I believe about CML and why I invested 12 months ago after the Storage division sale.
The tip wasn't welcome for me. Dug around after the buying continued. Despite the activity the sp has fallen back from today's highs. No doubt some pent-up selling demand, as they got their +400p wish. If there isn't a TU soon, might just get some more below 400p.
Cheers was wondering what had sparked this surge of interest. 550p sounds a bit hopefull but had these tucked away so happy to wait around and see....
Had this on watchlist as a stock with growth potential. It is virtually dormant regards share trading. Buying rush this morning, triggered a buy from me, as hopes of sub 400p gone. Superplanty has posted on AD-VFN that Simon Thompson, Investors Chronicle, has tipped with a target price of 550p.
The results are excellent and the annual dividend has doubled, so why no positive reaction on here?
Got mine on Friday via AJ Bell and they reinvested it today in more CML @ 389.9. Tidy buying of the dip!
Im with interactive investor and got my dividend last week and have just had the scrip dividend performed today
I’m with Interactive Investor
I received mine yesterday on Friday Lacramsikcab. I think you should chase it up.
Anyone else still waiting for their Special dividend which was due last Friday? HL say CML have yet to send over the money. Does anyone have further information on when we get paid?
Thanks.
I personally see no case for buying or even holding shares in CML, whatever angle you look at company it's in cul de sac with nowhere to go. Do the directors care as long as they pick up their inflated salaries, company cars and other perks? I would say no.
These are two different roles and responsibilities within any company. Certainly it should be viewed negatively by any investor as too much power is held by one person. Depends how you wish to view CML, a company that intends driving forwards by growth or a small time operation going nowhere. I would suggest CML is the latter and combined charmain/CFO clearly indicates my suggestion is correct.
Is this the base of the ex-div drop ?
I sold before ex-div taking profits, but that only totalled about 6%, less than the div, so now quite tempted by any prices under 400p to reinvest and sit sight. Chart shows the price could dip all the way to 300p. All in slow motion.
Hi Banner76. Apart from going against the grain, in what way do you see a problem with the CEO/CFO ? Is there evidence of him being self-serving ?
Any long term holders care to comment on the move to the wild west of AIM ?
Been in and out of CML shares since 2005, made some nice profits and horrible profits over that time. But the directors always seem to come out as the winners no matter what happens and now we have the unacceptable position that the chairman is also CFO.
Hi going to buy on next drop pos around 4.50 will hold good div will add again
I've been invested since 2016, now just about breaking even . China downturn first then Covid. Now seems to be turning a corner. Don't expect anything life changing, more a very slow burn, better than leaving your savings in the bank.
Newly invested here with a first position. Not sure why there is not more attention. So much cash we have a special dividend with over 10% impact. Market Cap is represented half cash. No debt. I'm still researching but so far looks great with prospects after the storage sale. There must be a downside. ... What ?
Yes looking good here. record order book, £32M in bank, 50p special div incoming and mcap still only £64M.
I would have thought the RF Semis and mmWave chips that CML designs would be in huge demand given there is a major problem in the chip supply chain. There should be big demand for their designs but will CML be finding difficulty in sourcing the raw materials they need themselves? I don’t know but my feeling is that CML should be cashing in from this supply chain crisis further downstream.
There is a general meeting next Thursday to vote through the 50p capital return so I would hope to hear an update on trading at the same time. There was one the same week last year.
Yes it does seem v overlooked. 50p/share being returned to shareholders on the 18/03/21 so that's a good start. I wonder if the semiconductor supply issues are affecting the SP tho having got rid of storage, you wouldn't have thought so that much...
The sale of Hyperstone to Swissbit has now completed for $49M (£36M) cash. Probably another £7M-£9M in bank already? Freehold land valued years ago at £15M, probably worth way more now? Yet the market cap of CML is £63M, therefore probably below current tangible net asset value.
Here is what the company said two months ago upon announcing the sale of Hyperstone:
"The Disposal [of Hyperstone] reflects a strategic decision made by the Board to refocus the Group exclusively on the global Communications market. The Board believes the communications sector represents a large and high growth market opportunity for CML, which has been significantly enhanced through the acquisition of PRFI Limited in March 2020. The Disposal further enables CML to direct its efforts, including research and development spend, on capturing the exciting growth opportunities within the wireless communication markets, leveraging its standing as a key supplier to many of the world's Tier 1 equipment manufacturers...............The proceeds from the Disposal will provide the Group with the financial flexibility to maximise its future growth potential."
How can Mr Market effectively attribute no value to this established and, according to CML's directors, potentially high growth business? The market is giving stratospheric values to loss making start-ups yet nothing to this business that continues to generate profits, cash and dividends, and is backed by tangible assets. Once the recent bumps in the road caused to CML by Covid and the US/China trade spat are behind them, CML's share price must surely re-rate significantly? I am betting on it and have bought a good pile of them over the last two months.
nice move up ,missed start of move up was watching syme which also moving up if people could get buy quotes with nt to buy being quoted so much again this morning find it so annoying when so difficult to get buy quote now watching other shares .like how much cml moving up ,nice buying
