Disney have said Mulan POVD will be $29.99. This is a massive mistake in my opinion, 30 bucks to stay at home vs the full Cinematic experience! It’s expensive and I can’t see it having a big take up.
I think they’re trying to appease the market, but should just sit tight for another few weeks instead for cinemas.
No they have not. Speculating on future studio business patterns. But they are not privy to studios accounts and most studios are owned by large corporations.
Disney made a four and a half billion loss due to Coronavirus. Yet distracted the market with Mulan announcement. Which then has been heavily criticised by the public. IG did not forecast this or that Disney stated this will be a one off. Considering how big the losses will be if it goes ahead with this will kill off PVOD for the foreseeable future...
I agree Mr Jay, as the cases fall each day in US can see an average of 1-2p increase each day. 2p per day increases when getting closer to Tenet. Still unclear if Mulan will be out at all cinemas, if it was than even with less viewers there would then be both Tenet and Mulan out in a month. Isn't clear to me that the vod would dent cinema takings to Mulan as much as people are saying, 30 dollars is crazily expensive for the small screen.
The IG article is basing it on AMC deal with universal but cineworld haven’t participated in that nor has any other studios though they say they might follow. AMC have actually stated they intend to be more profitable under the new terms but no one knows the details. Also this article is a few days old and not reached 20p yet so make that of what you will. Brokers are still sticking with 140p+ target and I’m sure they’ve done their analysis also.
Hi,I have no Idea about shorting and not for me but I'm guessing your hope is the price will go down as IG say. What if the price goes up.Who wins am I right in thinking IG win as they have just got you all to bet on the share price to drop
I’m surprised to see a few posts constantly suggesting 20p though cine has stayed around 38 for past few days. You’d think they’d b right as it’s posted everyday but we haven’t. I think some shorters will be burnt tomoz as I see a big rise coming from company update. This will be back above 50p next few days. With people with higher average I’d suggest buy now and average down. CInemas aren’t going anywhere! Still the cheapest leisure experience out there. Costs are still minimal while being closed, biggest cost is rent as it’s a huge space but I’m sure that’s covered by by the government have put in place. Most staff are on 4hr contracts and furloughed. Sweets, popcorn and drinks have a long expiry so not expecting a huge costs there either. Lights remain off so not expecting a huge electricity bill either. Just won’t b hitting budget targets like every other company out there. I say all this being in the cinema industry for 10years in management.
Oh dear that is very serious
Have Cine had any revenue the the 4months prior to re-opening? Why do you say 17p? Seems a bit much surely 20p - 25p would be more likely?
Shorter guy is just a sad old SHORT trader who keeps trying to talk the Cineworld share price down.
People just ignore is useless advice and scaremongering.
He just does this because Shorterguy actually is shorter (shortdicked then) who has to compensate this by being a negative knobhead
Or hold and wait till cinemas in America open, Tenet comes out and the SP rises. I think we will hold. Buy shares is for the long term and not short term.
I think CINE will confirm ample liquidity tomorrow
if its tomorrow then before the market opens around 7am i would expect
If you get out today you can avoid a likely disaster tomorrow. Major short positions increasing.
25p tomorrow?
Do we know what time this update info would be announced/released?
add to that that my customers are all taking their kids to the cinema as they say
Many are furloughed for months if not until next year and workign from hom giving them greater flexibility
Let's not forget many employees are unable to use holidays and are encouraged to stay in the UK hence they will be going to the cinema as that is tradition
Unfortunately yes I have created mock bookings and when I have looked at afternoon showings the bookings have been very good if not busier than usual.
I have seen less bums on seats in directors lounge viewings late night which tend to be a lot busier
I'm obviously very optimistic :-)
The future is good .... the cinema experience will only get better and better ..... can never be replicated at home !!
Has anyone else been looking at how many seats are booked at the venues? it is possible to pretend to book to view the available seats.
You're right, anyone who knows CINE history knows there will be a very good plan. Cine survived WW2 with an Israeli man at the helm. Give them some credit lol
Agreed, Laidback. Many have taken a position and have funds ready to top-up on the basis this is received well.
Cineworld is NOT the only company to suffer hardship due to the current pandemic.
They will need to present a roadmap for recovery in a similar manner to a number of companies which I have confidence in an established cinema player with 90 years of family history behind him to guide us through this time.
The new standard for CINE -
Terrible results are good
ROFL
I agree ... any results less than catastrophic will see sp surge !
Like EasyJet update, if the trading has not been as bad as Telegraph, Fitch etc expected then we can see a spike of 10% like EZJ tomorrow! EZJ was operating just 10 aircrafts compared to 700 previously and the monthly cash burn was £700 compared to £1Bn and if we have similar figures from CINE then it is going to be a massive spike tomorrow. With UK opened and other regions in Europe opened too so definitely some revenue is coming in. Cineplex deal is called off too and confirmation AGAIN about enough liquidity till 2021 will shut the gob of those spouting rubbish about CINE. Should be a good day tomorrow. IMO GLA
