reason why 1st of July is tentative reopen date is to do with Christopher Nolan's movie 'Tenet' proposed release date which is 16th July
I've been guilty of that too. But if it's really going to 120 or 160 or 200..who cares if u get in at 68 or 74 or 86. Trying to squeeze every penny out of z deal has cost me plenty of lost ops
dreamachine,
Your post 16:37 27/05, “haven't got back in yet as wanted to see how today played out, as was expecting a retrace today, but lower than it was actually. I'll be following closely tomorrow”
The following day, following a 20% spike on an RNS
You post 08:55 28/05, “Great play and done well on this - seeing such strong gains, now wondering whether to cash out again,”
How did you get back in? Mates rates on opening?
I thought you’d left this board, but as you’re back I thought it worth examining your trading strategy.
Hi dream. What range you working on?
To be honest I had no idea they made a profit on such low numbers. I don’t think the social distancing is an issue. It’s more about the air flow in there. But we are still not 100% on the details of this virus. In a few weeks the data could be completely different and the rules might be different. Things seem to be changing all the time.
On these numbers at the 'stay at home' holidays in July and August occupancy should be in line event with distancing. Plus money spent on confectionery ' the treats' rising due to holiday cash saved.
You best justify that 70s target DreamMachine. JM0205 will be on your case.
I don't know about the break-even point as that depends on a range of factors such as ticket prices.
However would agree that an average occupancy rate for a 2, 3 or more screen venue is in the 15-20% range growing to 30-40% on an exceptional film basis. Typically cinemas do well in a recession but the main problem is the social distancing element.
Thanks Joker.
Notaflipper. Cinemas make at profit on 11% capacity and generally work on 22% capacity across the board.
They're not interested Joker but it was tried over the weekend. Most BBs are full of trading genius with an account less than two months old and for them the only way is up.
The main takeaways in the article to me was the increased operational costs due to extra cleaning and staffing. It also appears there will be staggered cinema screening times and spacing requirements which will impact revenue.
Apologies if this has been shared already:
