I just can’t make my mind up 🤣🤣🤣
Serious question. What planet are you on?
The hokey kokey man 👨 in out in out shake it all about 🤣🤣
“Why would a company that is solvent need to go into administration,I don’t understand?”
It isn’t - as the judge put it, it is ‘hopelessly insolvent’. Did you miss the bit where the company ran out of cash and was bailed out by lenders who are now getting their pound of flesh in return?
Rushden Lakes apologies
Visited a Cineworld at the weekend in Rushed lakes. Have to say it was fantastic. The seating is superb, recliner leather chairs with huge armrests, and the picture and sound quality was awesome. Can't see this lingering at these prices in the near future. People are starting to go out again, took 2 years to lock people down (wrongly) and taking 2 years for people to realise there is a world out there and you can't just sit at home. I see this company bouncing back and people starting to live life again. Bring it on.
It can’t be dead Daniel.
Dean & Maidit have said different
🤔
That's because cineworld will be entirely worthless soon and no amount of decent box office receipts can change that.
I'm hanging on because not much point in selling (and I covered losses buying and selling on the 2p to 8p bounce), but let's not kid ourselves - this is dead.
Why would a company that is solvent need to go into administration,I don’t understand?
I was expecting to see this delisted by now, they did say it would happen in July. I’m hoping it’s not as easy as they thought under UK law. Fingers crossed.
Plus you mention the world of accounting. This is a tax issue rather than accounting which is mainly governed by international standards anyway and again has no bearing on corporate registration which is a matter for individual governments.
Absolute nonsense Ian. Where a company is registered is not the same as where it is listed. They are two different things. For example BP is registered in UK and listed in UK and US.
They are two different things. The physical HQ will not be in the Caymans. Only a brass plaque there and its corporate address.
No you cannot. U.K. law is strong on where a company can be listed.
The anti terrorism laws have shut down lots of loopholes like this. As these groups were funded by individuals and companies using the Cayman Islands as a hiding place. Not only that but the Cayman Islands secrecy has also diminished as they have to inform relevant governments of accounts now. The world of accounting has changed since Enron and 9/11.
They Can Stop Them if the Old Company Headquarters is the Same Country as the Government Which Cineworld is.
We’ll let the regulators decide ey!
The government still cannot stop them.
We live in a global market where you can register and re-organise a company wherever you like.
If CW was a private company then the government couldn’t stop them but they’re not, not yet anyway
The company is not even moving it's HQ to the Caymans.
It's the lenders not holding company that is being registered there.
Everything else will then transfer underneath.
UK 'government' CANNOT stop CINE or any other company moving its headquarters to any other country including the Cayman Islands.

No I am Taking Out of My Backside Thanks.
The U.K. Government Would Not Allow Cineworld to Move it’s Headquarters to the Cayman Islands.
Lastly All Money Invested on the London Stock Exchange is Dirty Money Cause the City of the London Has Trillions of Money on it Laundered on it But it is Perfectly Legal Money I Am Afraid Simple as that Really.
CW had to pay UK tax on its UK profits regardless of where the ultimate holding company is registered.
It makes sense to insert regional Midcos to make this easier.
Ian - the UK authorities cannot block the creation of a holding company in another jurisdiction regardless of how unpalatable it might seem.
Glencore, a UK listed company is head quartered in Switzerland.
D36...you are talking through your back side!
Picture house operators rose after the releases of the Barbie film based on the eponymous fashion dolls and the Oppenheimer period piece led to a bumper weekend at the box office.
Cineworld jumped 11%, while Everyman climbed 1.8%.
The 'Barbenheimer' offering prompted the biggest weekend for UK cinema-going since 2019, according to the UK Cinema Association.
