I've been a bit perplexed over the last three weeks too. Your comment about the weakening pound is probably right. Now with this AMs RNS we seam to have a bit of a mini recovery (so far).
Some weakness in a booming market.. Are BOK hit by falling pound? wouldn't have thought so. Any ideas?
Good solid results today - if you want a slow steady share with decent div - this is the one for you.
Agreed bigrab - not a stunner by any means but slowly slowly edging up and a special div to boot
this week are good, increase in profits, how will the market view these, this company is growing into a bigger player
Movement in a while........hopefully heads back up to 180p +

Apologies Tip of the week "Bet on Brilliant Booker" KR ZA
Very good write up in the Investors Chronicle "Buy Brilliant Booker" KR ZA
Chance to buy in here.....173p is the lowest it has been in a while....did hit 160p some time back when the market crashed...like now. Will buy in here as it will get back to 180p+..GLA
160p not 1660...............and 181 has been its highest level for a while GL
Sorry Popeye don't check this board too often as I don't worry to much about this share aas it tends to stay around 175 /180 althought it did fall to low 1660.s which allowed you to buy...good buy. Steady improvement this week and finished strong 180p.....might go up a little...has the potential to go to 200p but not sure....keep an eye on it over the next week or so. I still hold these but sold most of the them to buy into ClIN(690) and it has done ok but hoped it would push on more...it might. Would only buy back into Booker if it fell to 160p again which I don't hink will happen.....good luck P.
Finnharps1 Are you still holding this stock, or have you sold the other half? I'm surprised at the lack of discussion on this board! Is everybody still on holiday? Kind regards Popeye
Hi Finnis, I'm heavily into this stock. Didn't get in at 40p! Though I wish I had done. I bought in recently prior to them announcing the Musgrave deal had been approved by the CMA. I managed to buy a big wad at 1.62. I had a large HSBC holding and used the funds from that, so I'm doing ok at the moment. I topped up on Tuesday. I'm also a big fan of Charles Wilson. He is one of the most respected CEO'S in the city. I personally think the SP has a lot of legs left in it. The price they paid for Musgrave was an absolute steel. The market is pricing the stock assuming the margins will be circa 3%. I think there margins from this aquisition will be more like 8-10% purely on logistics. Very interesting to watch the current trades go through. It's itching to break through the 1.80 though. I would be interested to hear your views. Regards Popeye
Draft, not sure how much more there is in this share in the short term and I might sell the rest off but would be happy to transfer profit to it as it is very stable and doesn't fluctuate loads...best of luck with the others...Have picked you up on a few boards...keep in touch. GL
well done mate - you made good money, i see in the news they bought londis or something. to be honest i will not personally invest here now as i think future long term of londis is not good now - i read somewhere all wholesalers sales significantly down due to ban on tobacco display advertising. i guess that is my last post here ever. :-)
I did at 58p....have sold some at 180p previously(half them)....are those real sells and the bid price looks off ? GL
at 40p, oh well
lift....back to were it normally has settled at....might move on a little 180p+.....just my view.GL
But sure....ticking up nicely ! 180 and then upwards again. Charles Wilson...1st class.
When market settles and this deal approved. Unusual for it to dip as much but will firm up.....good company.
Booker’s sales rise as it awaits green light for Londis takeover: Booker Group, which owns food wholesalers including Makro, unveiled a 0.4% rise in first-quarter sales, while it awaits regulatory clearance to complete its takeover of Budgens and Londis.
Cant see £2 coming for the moment...dividend to be paid in July and then we may see a move upwards....
£2 here we come :)
???? No RNS....shareholders selling.
