Can someone remind which USA partner this refers to?

Sonora Operations
The Pilot Plant has completed the bulk sampling required for the Sonora plant and engineering designs. These samples have been sent to the Company's relevant partners in the USA and China for optimisation of the final designs.

"Sonora Lithium Project"

SCOPE OF WORK
Bacanora Lithium PLC have appointed GR Engineering to provide engineering services for the Sonora Project which involves completing engineering, procurement and construction services across the process plant and infrastructure, providing a fully integrated facility design with a number of large specialised process units including pyro and hydrometallurgy to produce lithium from the Sonora clays. The stage 1 facility is currently targeting 17,500t of Li2CO3 product per year.
The Projects is a remote greenfield development and requires the construction of all infrastructure including access roads, fuel, power station and raw water. Further development will include accommodation facilities for construction and operational personnel. The mineral processing plant includes front end milling, calcining and leach, followed by a hydromet plant to recover the lithium from solution. The plant was studied in 2018 with capital costs for the build expected to exceed $400M USD.
GR Engineering have project experience in Mexico and an engineering office in Tuscon Arizona (Hanlon Engineering) that will combine with the GR Engineering office in Brisbane Australia to deliver the scope.

Any thoughts if the clays from Sonora might be supplied without being fully converted-?

Just this bulk sampling could be at various stages for different customer requirements.
I thought conversion at mine was the most cost effective as Tesla does not want to transport large amounts of spudomere or Clay's around the world for processing.
That the tonnage of clay vs lithium. 17k tonnes of lithium to transport is better than xxxxxx? Tonnes of clay.
r7632,
Spodumene is currently shipped from Australia to China for processing and then to Japan for making the cathode before heading to the US for Tesla to produce the final finished battery cell and so from North Carolina to Nevada to be processed directly into batteries will cut that down significantly and Tesla makes big savings.
That's why I asked if Sonora might sell an intermediate product for perhaps Tesla to process as a means of cost reduction?
And the intermediate product from clay to lithium is?
Graded 6mm and kiln-dried clay!
lightweight easy to transport -
Or perhaps pre Sodium sulphate roasting - guess who claims to be sulphate free?
