i think it may be worth doing nothing for a while to see if sp drops sub £1 and then topping up with addional shares, then getting a decent average down price
me thinks so , can't see anything obvious to pull it back up , maybe sentiment and a strong persistent rally , but can't see that either and should it come along , there will be time to review , gl
I think it will fall a little more
I thought BA in the 180's as I thought it was a bit strong and more to do with the 'possible' advantages of tying up a majority deal with the likes of Iberia. Now Iberia is worth more than BA ? and the pensions issues will soon to be revalued ?. I went short in the 180's and with the latest news that BA will make a loss will continue to hold position. This may well change direction on positive news , but I cannot see anything positive coming out of BA's camp for a while , but we shall see , in the interim , I see this possibly hitting close to the 100 mark , gl.
cheers 4 that matey, chances are if WW not happy with the deal he will look at another airline to tie in with, hell if he gets desperate, Maybe he will sound out his old mucker at Virgin! he he. Then again, maybe not.

all i can say about people like that - OUR SOLES mate, OUR SOLES !!!!!!
nice and steady rise with BA over the last few weeks, no complaints, gotta be worth a montion for the mid/long termers
sounds right maybe its luckyt trying a cunning subtifuge. No I doubt he is that bright!
i really shouldnt but............... u know how it is
i just love idiots like him, it gives my sick & twisted humour something to play with. Easy meat hehe
dont suppose you've seen him anywhere have u?
ta mate. hard to say really, I think that if this merger goes through with Iberia this should have some effect on SP. If oil stays low it can only be helpful. I got nothing bad to say about hrg, its just that I cant resist having a pop at Joeys like Lucky t It's one of my (many) faults. It will be my undoing.
just shows how much interst there is in ba not one sing comment since my last comment
Because of BA's talks with Iberian airlines. Apparently, Under Austrailian law Quantas has to remain at least 51% Australian owned. If the Merger with Iberia & BA was to go through this would not happen.
Just heard on the news that the talks between Ba and Qantas failed, Why would they fail to reach an agreement ?
Just wish BA used Manchester Airport for more than just the occasional puddle hop planes I see coming in every other month
Thats assuming you can actually get ON the aircraft! After watching Airline, its a wonder anyone still uses them.
I love airline meals and usually get to eat the Mrs' goop because she has a lactose intolerance and wont eat anything unidentifiable
I find them no better or worse than most carriers? Singapore Airlines have a great rep, and I think the cabin crew are rubbish!!! They give miminal amounts of nibbles away, unless you're travelling busness class. BA have always been smiley and given me lots and lots of peanuts on demand. Not to mention extra breakfasts and extra unidentifiable goop (not a cuss, unidentifiable goop is one of my faves)
I agree, they're best suited to the long haul, still think they're overrated as a carrier. BA cabin crew have an aloofness I've not seen on any other airline. It's a bus in the sky, I'd rather spend my dosh at the other end and spend as little on getting there as possible. Easyjet will do, no frills and cheerful cabin crew.
BA is also a long haul airline. That's my point, that's why heathrow makes much more sense to it. I'd never fly easyjet on a 9 hour flight even if they offered it at a quarter the cost, and I'd never fly BA on a quick one hour flight! horses for courses. (in actual fact, I would never fly easyjet again full stop, I did once and that's the last time!!!)
Heathrow is aimed at the long haul and is a hectic sprawling mess. Can't stand the place and have to travel from there on boxing day, can't wait!
Unless it's been extended since I last lived down south, Gatwick is a bit old and tired, and above all it has too short a runway to be cost effective for long haul flights, which is why BA proably want out of it. Re extending Heathrow, whether it happens or not, it has a lot of the infrastructure already in place to handle the A380, which you will see a lot of in the nearish future from a lot of the long haul carriers, carrying nearly double the passengers of a 777 or 747, it alleviates the need for extra runways.
I recently did some work for the Concorde Club near Heathrow. It's BA's social club. I was due to provide the same service for the club at Gatwick but the work's not been forthcoming. This could explain it
