My HSBC dividends were paid 3 weeks late (July payment). I complained, they refused any idea of compensation. Was on the phone to Dumb Investor yesterday. 20 minutes to speak to a human, they 10 minutes into my complaint the line went dead. I called back, took 20 minutes to answer, then my phone battery went dead (too long on the phone!). Called back again, re stated my complaints, explained that many people are wanting too leave their service and moving over to a new provider. They said that is not the case and most people happy. I was with them for 20 years. Am so happy to get away from them....I called as one of my dividends went into my old account.....Dumb Investor is such a mess. Surely they will do something about it?
Barclays are now 11 days late with my BP dividend. They were often a day or two late before the move to "Smart Investor" but now they are really taking the p*ss. I am moving my investments gradually over to Hargreaves Lansdown. "Smart Investor" - a great way to damage the business. Good luck shareholders, you're going to need a lot of it!

Another route to complain https://www.fca.org.uk/contact
Many are venting their displeasure https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.barclays.co.uk https://www.facebook.com/BarclaysInvest/ https://www.boringmoney.co.uk/best-buys/reviews/barclays-smart-investor/ http://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/consumer-affairs/barclays-stockbrokers-switchdraws-complaints/ Smart Investor - The move has alienated much of its former stockbroking customer base, who have expressed anger about changes to the way stocks and prices are displayed, the fact the bank no longer supports certain shares and holdings and the changed functionality of the site. The launch was also beset by issues surrounding missing log-in details, error messages and missing transactions on users' accounts. Many customers remain unable to access their accounts and now also unable to leave due to a backlog in transfer requests. No customer will have to pay to exit Barclays under its new pricing model. But customers said they were being quoted a wait of between six to 12 weeks to transfer their accounts to another provider. HMRC guidelines suggest it should take just 30 days to transfer a stocks and shares investment Individual Savings Account (Isa). Rival brokers who undertake transfers on behalf of new customers said they had been inundated with requests from Barclays customers to transfer but were being forced to delay the process as Barclays was taking six weeks to reply to requests. A spokesperson at IG said: "In average we normally process a transfer request in about six weeks, (though it depends on which broker a customer is transferring from and their speediness). But right now we are seeing significant delays in transfers from Barclays and only getting a response from them after six weeks." A spokesperson at broker AJ Bell said: "Six to 12 weeks is significantly longer than it should normally take to transfer an account and the main reason is that were having to wait much longer than we would normally to hear back from Barclays." IG said that more than half of its current transfer requests were from Barclays customers, while AJ Bell said it had received a "significant" increase in requests from Barclays customers in recent weeks. Customers have been left "in limbo" in frozen accounts due to the transfer backlog, One customer said the trust account he held with Barclays Stockbrokers had now been inaccessible for five weeks due to the backlog of requests to transfer. https://www.investorschronicle.co.uk/managing-your-money/2017/09/04/barclays-customers-stuck-in-exit-bottleneck-after-re-launch/
Barclays are already 8 days overdue with my HSBC dividend and 6 days overdue with my BP dividend. Keep a close eye on them!
Agreed there is little smart in 'Smart Investor' I am also looking to move everything out not because of any delay in payments but simply because it was a massive step backwards and give me no advantage over the system that was in place previously.

Perfect! Could not have said it better myself. Have changed broker already and my complaint from 2 months ago remains unanswered.
If the ultimate gameplan by Barcs was to pith off its retail customers it seems to be doing a pretty damn fine job of it. The move to Shmuck Investor is a disaster of the highest order IMNSHO! The loss of interactivity, of functionality that the new interface provides is a prime example of how NOT TO win friends and influence people. Just what were they thinking when they agreed to the new steaming pile of dingos kidneys?!? It's like the person(s) who designed it are stuck in the Mac OS 9 days! Sheer white backdrop, pale borders, minimal functional features. Then there is the "rollout". No real "trial" period, no option to reject the new interface. Horrid user experience. Lest we also forget the functional failures of the new interface. A lot of users have complained that they have not received login details (why, exactly, did you have to change the user login details?) Then you look at the rather sinister way that you can now access your share portfolio through the RETAIL bank interface... along with your full credit card account, which I seem to remember used to be fairly seperate. At a time where they are talking about the ring fencing of retail banking away from the investing side of banking. Just what the hell are they thinking? Plus add to that they have the temerity to say that you now have to pay about a fiver a month to use even the most basic of their stock accounts. Either someone was having a very bad day in the 'Ideas' dept, they want to get rid of us pesky retail customers or their finances are so bad that they've got to change their customer business model to bring in a regular cash flow. Then when you ask them about transferring out they give a pretty lame "You'll have to contact your new broker and fill out their forms"! Not even a "sorry that you're leaving because of our changes. Here let us help you transfer!" I am so glad to NOT be holding any Barcs shares (except for about 7 left over from a divi payment) atm. If they don't "get ahead" of this colossal screw up they could damage any positive "customer feeling" towards them and get left out in the wilderness. For God's sakes, bring back Bobby D. At least he seemed to have a clue! Sorry all, I just needed to rant!
