Anyone?????!!!!!!!
all these buyers is it something i said or is there news ????
have the sellers gone ??
we are getting there !!
on you sellers lets bring this down to 5p ?
Daisan, this is precisely what I hope will be addressed by the share consolidation. The sensitivity when the share price is this low is magnified greatly so when the price is converted to 50/60p, I'd expect that to settle it down. I imagine what is also happening at this level is that you have a lot of day traders looking to make a quick buck on very small movements so they may also no longer be interested when the price moves up. Personally, I'm not paying too much attention to the price until the consolidation happens and perhaps towards the end of the year, we may see more positive movement and a general settlement of the volatility. This still isn't one for the faint hearted though and there are a lot of other things going on in the world that are affecting this price rather than just what gold is doing remember.
I know that AVM is very sensitive to the price of gold but this seems to be in the process of unravelling all of the gains that this has made on the back of the gold price rise of the last few months. Given that gold has only given back 4% from its recent highs, isn't this a bit of an overreaction? If gold falls more, and there is certainly an argument for a more extended pull back than we have had so far, is this going to go back to 4p?
Possibly. Now looking to an upside to this share as I seem to remember that the directors have allowed themselves the possibility of share allotments
Thank you nice to hear from you too. Yes I've still got a wee holding here...haha! It's good to have a little stress in your life. Think everyone knows about the element of risk. Great to see a move forward in SP after a lot of patience from investors, who still comment on this site. Let's hope all the bad news ( breakdowns, strikes, etc) are all consigned to history and we can have a prolonged purple patch. I agree with you, I think this could be a shrewd move that benefits both the company and the shareholders
Firstly Lofty, good to see you back commenting again. Still holding AVM? My view is this is generally good news. Less shares in the market, less volatility due to higher share price which removes the interest of day traders in to make a quick buck on "penny" share buying and selling quickly and keeping the volatility circle in place. You'll recall RBS did the same thing and I think at first, it certainly had a positive effect. Still a risk of course but I hope this settles the stock somewhat and as you say Lofty, that may attract more attention from serious investors.
"I didn't see the word 'dilution' in the RNS?!" No Lofty they did not use the word dilution. What they said was: "The reduction in the nominal value is intended to allow greater flexibility in the allotment of equity in the future," The allotment of shares is dilutive by definition, so they did not have to say it. You have to read between the lines a little with company statements. They also said this: " The issue of shares at less than nominal value of the Existing Ordinary Shares is prohibited by the Companies Act, so the nominal value of the Company's ordinary share capital must be reduced to a level below market price before new ordinary shares can be issued (for example by way of an equity fundraise)." If that does not spell out the word DILUTION, then I don't know what does. And "misleading" is not better. I made no comment on the contents of the RNS other than to predict dilution.
Considering the positive outcomes of this little exercise. Could be an astute move by the company....we may end up with less shares with a higher value (same overall value).....but a higher SP, I hope will raise a view potential investors eyebrows and generate more buys. Very possible, fingers crossed!
I can't be critising you then can I? I didn't see the word 'dilution' in the RNS?! I apologise for the use of the word inaccurate.....misleading was probably better, due to the lack of information in your initial post. Thanks for clearing it up. Anyway, if you've sold out...it won't bother you. Good Luck.
Lofty, If you do not understand the RNS, then don't criticise those who do. "The reduction in the nominal value is intended to allow greater flexibility in the allotment of equity in the future, while the share consolidation has been proposed in order to ensure the Company complies with the Oslo Børs requirement that the share price remain above 1 NOK (approximately 8.4 pence)." AVM's share price has been below 8.4p since Jul 2014, so if complying with the NOK was the issue, why has it taken them 20 months to address this. As for "The post below is inaccurate as it doesn't mention an increase in share value "; there is no effective increase or decrease in share value. You will have 10 times fewer shares, but those shares will be worth 10 times as much. Therefore no change in shareholders value, at this moment. So as complying with NOK is obviously a bogus excuse, let's look at the other reason they gave. "to allow greater flexibility in the allotment of equity in the future" Yes that's right, they want to raise money with either a placing or a Rights Issue. After all they can't keep borrowing from Elliot to raise the money to repay their earlier loans to them. And if you haven't noticed they are having a very hard time finding anyone else prepared to lend them money. I expect a placing or RI to be announced by August, not that I give a toss, as I have already sold out.
Fellow investors please read the RNS yourself. It's a bit hard going for someone like me who only has a cycling proficiency qualification so I phoned the number of the companies registra given in the message. They don't know anything about it!!! Soo I phoned my investment company (in Leeds)... Very helpful!! They will release more understandable news about this next week, on their site. The post below is inaccurate as it doesn't mention an increase in share value or that the consolidation process is to comply with rules / regs of the Norweigien Stock Market. It also fails to mention that the RNS states that share values will not change and gives a table of examples to indicate this. Hope you're all well.
The notice of AGM contains details of a 1 for 10 share consolidation. The main reason for this is to enable the company to issue more shares in an effort to raise cash. So further share dilution looks to be on the cards.
I was indeed Draft yup. I think I bought my first lot in Sept 2013 and bought in twice more over the next 9 months as the price fell so I'm virtually at break even at the moment but I'm hanging around. I came in feeling this was a major gamble so I think it will either end up with me losing it all or buying myself that Ducati (now the 1299 Panigale rather than the 1199 I penned myself after!). You can't say what will happen here but no-one could say its been, or will be, a boring ride - much like the Panigale!
were you here a year ago as well - i seem to remeber you
Agreed. We'll all make our own call on that but the next big move would definitely be funding otherwise it may fizzle away unless of course the gold price goes insane. Market turmoil makes gold attractive just now so price is up - the gold "experts" (read as bulls) are telling us the stats indicate gold has held ground at above 1250 for long enough, breached the 1300 level and therefore is about to take off so if prospective investors agree, they will come in and that's a good thing. That is personally the story I'm sticking with so I'll hang around hoping we've seen the worst. My view was always that Elliott are no mugs and wouldn't have been throwing millions of dollars at a complete dog but it is without doubt a very risky stock so don't be betting your pension on it! .
Difficult to say. If a good financing package is secured for Tri-K in Guinea and the price of gold stays at current levels or higher, then this will move up rapidly.
To invest in this stock??
Decided to buy in here today after doing some Resarch. The share price reached £2.80 around 2011! Bar chart are showing Avocet a 100% buy!
Still going round to the high risers promoting SML with the '100 bag quote' I see. Best of luck fishing.
