As those crazy dudes amongst us that have held on here have noticed already, there seems to be little relation here between gold spot price and the price of this stock! Gold down, this stock being sold - price goes up. Bizarre. Greece may yet get some sort of deal which has boosted markets which you'd think would be bad but who knows. I'm trying to ignore all that's happening and concentrating on the last reasonably positive report we had from the firm, strapping onto the AVM bull ride and just see what happens!
Greece may already be printing their money in the shed or basement of Tsipras as a back up plan. But the yellow metal keeps falling. Unbelievable!!!
Have you also noticed....when the gold price dropped so does this SP....yet...when the gold price rises....this stud where it is....or drops!!
3p inevitable...grim time ahead!! Gold has no chance.... Crashed...again. Still dropping like a stone...even with the Greece news.
Still haven't got this trading thing...haha! Someone tell me how this SP has lost 7.4% of its value...with no trading??????
I think Greece will rescue us. It's clear what they are doing is a very short term solution if they reach a deal. By bailing out Greece the EU got themselves in a huge trap. There is no way out. All they can do is extend, pretend, delay, pray... Unavoidably Greece will default. The consequences are unthinkable. Once battered commodity, will be highly appreciated and we will have the last laugh.
I agree Lofty - my "normal" investment portfolio would welcome a solid Greek deal but worldwide calamity always paves the way for a rush to gold which surely must benefit AVM so I'm in two minds! I'm sure it won't be a straight up "OK we'll pay guv" message from Tsipras so I'm expecting a half way house which might see a slightly happier market yet still uncertain enough that gold will rise.
Being set up for a fall....waiting for Greece to tow the line...then wouldn't be surprised if it gets smashed.....below $1050oz. Hope the Greeks are strong....and go tell them to #%*}{\~€$¥\#%. Difficult one for them...hope they get what they want!!
This company is like the Hotel California. Once you are in you can't get out like me.
Thanks mate....I think there's a good few who have hung in there. I had the choice to get out on a number of occasions where they ticked up a bit and I could cut my losses. But I decided to buy...buy...buy.... and just take the chance by greatly reducing my average. I must admit, I convinced myself at times that I had made the wrong decision when we went through that period of bad news after bad news! I look back at my previous posts...brimming with frustration!! Now when you look at how development and exploration projects have been shelved due to a lack of finance, I think AVM's Souma and Tri-K parts of the operation are a key asset for the future and as I have said before, could put them in the Premier League of Junior Miners. I am confident that they will get the money to finance their development and the ongoing business review will shake out the old and bring in the new. Also, the purchase of shares by the company, something that was raised at their last meeting is an interesting one and could put some icing on the cake. I'm not quite sure how that works, maybe someone else can enlighten us. Anyways, well done for hanging in there, I'm sure you are going to reap the rewards.
There's a few of us hanging on in this crazy horse race with you Lofty so I'm hoping your clearly excellent gut instinct is right! What would please more than anything is some Director purchasing.
Never has there been so many eggs in one basket...haha! Confident about my gut feeling...Similar to the one...when my Lucky 15 came in on Saturday and I needed a wheelbarrow. My last horse running at Gulf Stream Park was called Prague...it didn't have a price..but it was showing top of the card...so I assumed..6/4...5/4...maybe? Anyways...3 had already won...5/4...2/1...and...7/1. Decides to watch the final race...arrives in the shop (with the red livery), with the race half way thro' ...two horses way out in the lead..Prague is the leader...flying...nothing can catch it....p#%sed it!!...12/1 outsider! Went to the counter...in shock..."I think I've just won a lot of money!"...after a brief delay...I got the reply I was waiting for...OMG!! Haha! Is it in the bank...why of course...rather it was...Now it's on a horse in a LONG race...its name...AVM...of course!! Haha!
Well...topped up again...must be losing it!!! Haha!
Well just when you thought it could get any worse...it picks up again!! Gold and miners getting properly trounced...especially RRS!!
Loving this....25000 more sells....up 4%!! Sell...sell!! Haha!
The best bit was this morning when it went up...0.5p on 11000 buys....then down the same....on 5000 sells.....with gold still rising...I know guys.....there are other factors.... But the way this SP acts is very erratic!! Let's just hope when it pops...its acts the same in an upwardly direction eh?!
Indeed ! nevertheless I expect a major rise one of these days .... tomorrow general meeting shareholders
Still going down....I just don't get this!!! Someone's got to be taking the p!£s. This lost over 6% of its value today....even though there were more buys than sells. The SP continually loses ground after any gains. No consolidation....always losses. I look at HGM...AMA....OMI.....buys and sells and see a different picture with more sells than buys. Add in the gold rising factor. Very confusing...frustrating....
Would be interested in how you think this purchase of shares proposal from the company is going to play out. You're probably aware....that the company put this forward at the AGM...don't know if the proposal was passed....do you? If so.... they can purchase up to 20 million+ of their own shares in the next 15 months. If they do I expect they will start this process soon...whilst the SP is bargain basement....but where would they get the funds to do that when they are constantly being subbed by Elliott.....Do they have a secret stash? Also this a substantial amount of shares we are talking about....10%......?? Will this kick start the SP.....?? What you reckon?
They'll be firing the printing presses up again...they don't know what to do. That'll keep investors happy...until it runs out!! Or should I say...the banks?! It's all gonna go Sarf...innit?! HappyTs back...yerrrr!!
OK, so we're a bit on the low side at the moment, and dropping like a stone. Hopefully the EGM will come with a positive result and we can carry on trading, and when we do, things are looking pretty good - assume that that Greece crisis has one of two endings - either it defaults, maybe drops out of the Euro, or it doesn't default (not sure how that can happen now) and borrows more, pushing the default back to end of July instead (by my reckoning, the amount that it will get advanced from the IMF / ECB is enough to cover a little over one month of debt repayments, so I don't see why they'd bother!). Either way, markets will 'correct' themselves, so the shiny stuff becomes a safe haven again (only so many dodgy bonds that you can buy after all). Add to this today's news that China is in the fix for gold, and we may see some rather swift movements. GLA Happy
Yep! Optimism springs eternal but by Christmas they were back where they started. Just remember the previous year they were about 90p and the year before 200p was not unusual. The secret is taking a deep breath and knowing when to sell. Who knows happy days may well return. Good luck.
I was just looking back at AVM's little spell in 2013. On Wed 7th Aug the SP was 8.58p. In 3 weeks...Wed 28th Aug the SP reached 24p. What I'm getting at is this. For £1000 on the 7th Aug you could buy 11,655 shares! But for the same amount of money on the 24th Aug, only 3 weeks later...you could only buy 4,166! I've read all the stuff about being a contrarian, when it comes to investing and making a fortune and I think this proves it's right. When the train leaves sometimes, it goes off fast and if you aint on it, you've missed the potential to earn a fortune!! So get on it and wait a while...put your feet up....have a cuppa....and wait patiently for departure knowing you have everything with you that you need and the rides going to be very enjoyable!! haha!
