Commerzbank AG; Holding in coy RNS out! Nice big buy from earlier today of 21.5k showing up as well.
Long term Akers investor McMather recently posted a product update on ADVFN. Worth sharing with you guys. What is apparent is that Akers are looking to move into many different areas of healthcare and not focus on just one or two Chube (alcohol breath detector)- worldwide. Already selling in France where breathalyzer law was passed PIFA Heparin PF4 (detects allergy to Heparin, anti blood clotting drug)- US. PIFA Heparin PF4 - coming to China & Europe. (proposed 9 year deal in China, see link below, formal sales to begin in 2014) PIFA Pluss (blood cell separator)- US. PIFA Pluss - coming to China & Europe. Metron (detects whether fat or carbs is being burned during exercise)- US full launch imminent. Metron - then elsewhere. VIVO (measures oxidative stress levels)- US but again full launch imminent. VIVO - then elsewhere. Breath Ketone (Diabetic monitoring)- pursuing full FDA (US Food & Drug)approval. Breath PulmoHealth (lung cancer detector)- pursuing full FDA approval. Tri-Cholesterol (high cholesterol) - available now. PIFA Chlamydia - Chubeworkx looking to expand sales in Asia / Sub-Continent. PIFA Dengue Fever - Chubeworkx looking to expand sales in Asia / Sub-Continent. PIFA Gonorrhea - Chubeworkx looking to expand sales in Asia / Sub-Continent. PIFA Hepatitis B - Chubeworkx looking to expand sales in Asia / Sub-Continent. PIFA Hepatitis C - Chubeworkx looking to expand sales in Asia / Sub-Continent. PIFA Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV 1+2) - Chubeworkx looking to expand sales in Asia / Sub-Continent. PIFA Malaria - Chubeworkx looking to expand sales in Asia / Sub-Continent. My further comments - Many bioscience companies are 100% scientist driven and lacking in business acumen. Akers has went into partnership with Chubeworkx who are doing extensive selling and marketing of Akers products. Link 1 details the partnership, 2nd details the marketing activities for Chube breathalzyers (tour of France, Europe) http://www.akersbiosciences.com/investor/documents/13JUN13_Chubeworkx.pdf http://www.bechube.com/ China deal http://www.akersbiosciences.com/documents/11-26-12_NovotekTherapeutics_RNS_final_TAN.pdf
That's very interesting. So it was Barclays who we're making my life such a nightmare! They insisted that I could not make the trade online. Ho hum. I have the shares now so will watch and hope for further gains as they year moves on. Good luck all holders.
STAND ALONE - can I add that Akers havent been listed on Nasdaq yet, they are still at the application stage. One of the reasons the SP is rising so quickly on the UK stock market is because investors are buying up in anticipation of the Nasdaq IPO. We first heard about the application 2.5 months ago so any day now. Ive just bought some Akers shares from The Share Centre using my practice account , I found it very easy and there were no issues with brokers talking to MM's etc. I was able to do it online in a matter of minutes. CANT DEAL - Yes, i had the same problem when I bought shares in Akers last December. You need a W-8Ben form. If Akers ever pay a share dividend (which is unlikely at this point in time) you wont pay 30% US tax just 15% I believe. You should be able to find such a form on their website or give them a call. I was able to print off the form , scan and email it back to them all in the same day. AND TRADE ON THE SAME DAY AST HEY ACCEPT AN EMAIL COPY Are you with the Share Centre? Here's the link https://www.share.com/search/?q=8+ben
Trust me! This one is not easy to buy! However, as it is dual listed both here and in the US you will need to complete a form. That's the bad news. The good news is it is VERY easy to complete - name address and signature. On Barclays you download Form23 which is W-8BEN. This can be found at the bottom of their web page. Be sure to write United Kingdom and not UK otherwise it will not be accepted. If you are not with Barclays then just ask. After that it can only be bought manually and that means not by you! So, your broker speaks with a Market Maker and gets a price which you agree to. Otherwise, you place an order and hope for the best. This is not an easy share to buy but, finally, today I got my hands on just over 164,000 shares. I am quite excited but boy was it made difficult! If you are not with Barclays then just ask and they will know which form it is. It is basically because you are buying a US listed stock so the FSA have strict rules - hence the form. It is listed on AIM too but the US bit makes it way more beauocratic than a normal share transaction. For me, it's worth the hassle though. Good Luck. . . .
I was able to trade on the same day - they accepted my scanned copy of the W-8Ben

Can anyone help. I have a share account with share.com. i have just tried to buy shares for here and it's saying i cannot deal in this share. has anyone had problems buying???
Thank you very much for that comprehensive posting. Also not long before Akers is recommended in Share Mag. or IC!
mcmather 25 Sep'13 - 19:51 - 1728 of 1878 0 0 MM2 - as per wolfie above. Also have a look at post 1599 re the products / what is commercialised / what is about to be commercialised / etc. The market cap here was just over £3m when they announced the news re the proposed Nasdaq listing. They want to raise a minimum of $15m; about 3X the MC of the company at that time..... The law change in France made it a requirement for motorists to carry disposable breathalysers in their vehicles. However, there is no penalty if you do not.... A company called Chubeworkx had the exclusive license rights to market and sell the device in France & UK. This has now been extended worldwide including the US. HTTP://www.bechube.com/ They appear to have changed tact in terms of how they market the device; ie more a lifestyle choice than a legal requirement. This strategy could prove very useful in the US. Indeed, much of the company now appears to be geared towards health / lifestyle choices / etc. The products appear to work. In the main they are patented. As WW alluded they just appeared to be lacking in commercial guile / nous. It looks like this has now finally changed - the interims refer. I suspect that the funds raised will, in the main, be used to cater for increased demand / production / PR / increased profile / etc. Performance to date - ex' the last interims - has been woeful. Hopefully this is were the company start to get serious as far as commercialisation / revenue is concerned. Interesting interview here with the CEO from earlier in the year - http://www.brrmedia.co.uk/event/109929/thomas-nicolette-president--chief-executive-officer
Superb trading day - 4.32p. Highest SP has been since early 2011 One of the investors on the ADVFN thread chatted with director Mr Thomas Nicolette last Friday. Because of the Nasdaq application they are limited as to what they can report on the RNS feeds. So there may well be news but we wont find out until after Nasdaq. Going to post an ADVFN thread that myself (Im Werewolfie) and long term , knowledgeable investor Mc Mather has posted recently moneymachine - Akers has recently applied to join NASDAQ. News due any day now and we think UK investors are buying up shares in anticipation. We also think that the company has done a number of things in the last year which will interest investors. 1 - It has supplied disposable breathalyzers to the France after they passed a law saying that all cars foreign and French must have 2 disposables as part of a safety kit 2 - It has been lacking in the marketing dept historically but has went into partnership with BeChube who have completed a profile raising tour around Europe. We also believe they are looking to market in Africa and the US 3 -Akers are due to launch a fitness product in the lucrative US market - this will ascertain if you are burning fat or carbs when you exercise 4 - They are looking to launch a PIFA product in China. 9 year deal. Still being passed by Chinese authorities but will hopefully generate long term revenue for AKers 5 - The company has recently posted a half year profit - the first profit of any kind since 2008 albeit small 6 - The company is debt free. 7 - If another country passes a disposable breathalzyer law we believe Akers are well placed to enter that market quickly SEE OTHER THREAD FOR MCMATHERS RESPONSE
We should also get other news on orders from different countries!
Share finally gaining momentum. Highest SP since early 2011. Thanks to Rob Giles fund manager at Hendersons who has recently bought in and helped raise the company profile.
Big buys keeps on coming!
Thanks Dubuary (Doobster?). Going to post this on ADVFN. UK stock market is a revenue source which Akers badly needs, doesnt make any sense at all to delist. If there was no interest from UK investors then I could see an argument. Clearly this is not the case
4p paid.
martever2012, good post, you have convinced me. Having done a little more research I see Akers have stated they will stay on AIM - clearly my own view of AIM clouded my judgement, from their nasdaq filing: Akers Biosciences, Inc. is offering shares of its common stock in an initial public offering. Currently, our common stock is traded on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange, or AIM, under the symbol AKR.L. Shares traded under the AKR.L symbol are deemed to be unrestricted by the AIM market. The closing price of our shares on AIM on August 5, 2013 was .0118 £ based on an exchange rate of $1.530 per 1.00 £ or $0.0181 per share. At present, there is a very limited market for our common stock in the AIM market. We intend to continue trading on AIM upon completion of this offering and will apply to list our common stock on The NASDAQ Capital Market under the symbol “AKER”. http://www.nasdaq.com/markets/ipos/filing.ashx?filingid=9120391
**Well done to Akers. My biggest holding at 2p average! Akers is helping me for my early retirement! Also glad this is in my ISA ! Yabadabadoooo!**
Superb couple of days for Akers SP. We should be hearing about the NASDAQ application anytime now. Akers REsubmitted their application 2 weeks ago. http://www.nasdaq.com/markets/ipos/company/akers-biosciences-inc-668645-73185?tab=financials
. . . WELL MY OLD AKERS, . . . . . . . I hope you are all enjoying the ride
Fdi & Aker has done wonders to my Isa.
Doesnt make any sense to delist from AIM. Better to be in 2 markets than just 1. I chat with long term Akers Biosciences investors on the ADVFN thread and they think that a successful NASDAQ IPO will increase the company's appeal on both sides of the Atlantic. Just think , 60 million people in UK, 320 million in US. Much bigger market for the company to trade shares. They are virtually unknown in their own country but a successful launch on NASDAQ will get them on the US map. Below is a link where you can check their NASDAQ application status http://www.nasdaq.com/markets/ipos/offering-history.aspx?expert=aegis+capital+corp I think what will attract investors is the fact they dont have all their eggs in one basket ie/ Metron (fitness product), BEChube (alcohol breathalyzers), and other products detecting lung cancer and diabetes. There is also a long term deal in the Chinese market underway. Sales expected to start in 2014. Below is a link from Akers website detailing the distribution agreement in China. http://www.akersbiosciences.com/documents/11-26-12_NovotekTherapeutics_RNS_final_TAN.pdf Many biosciences companies are said to be too scientist based with not enough business acumen. Akers have recently formed a partnership with Chubeworkx who is providing much of the marketing, advertising and have recently toured Europe promoting the breathalyzer product. Below is a link saying that Chubeworkx can supply in Canada, US and Mexico http://www.akersbiosciences.com/investor/documents/13JUN13_Chubeworkx.pdf If any country in the world was to pass a law saying that every car must have a disposable breathalzyer law, I believe that Akers and Chubewokx are in a good position to enter that market quickly.
thank you for clarifying this. Read someone where ppl said the company may delist from AIM. Thanks
NIF - As far as Im aware, they arent planning to delist from AIM. They simply want to sell shares in a larger market than the UK stock exchange. They are an American company and about to launch a fitness product called Metron (detects whether you are burning fat or carbs) in the US so its a logical move Centamin, the gold mining giant trade on both the LSE and Australian stock exchange.
Hi I was wondering what will happen to the current shareholders if AKR happen to delist from AIM London? Thank you for ur reply... Gla
