Hydrogen power ................ cheaper to buy this and change over to Hydrogen than ITM
if you are worried about it sell now and relax ,easy
What dose it mean, what if they do not make the bid would it come down again
A bidding war
Hi BHSGS...i bought in at 3.47...... here for the long haul....i completely ignore brokers :-)
In 1997 Christian Salvesen gave their shareholders Aggreko for free. In 2012 the company peaked at over £22 when the temporary power business was their oyster. Since then problems around the World brought the share price crashing. A great ride while it was going on. Now, with brokers recommending a hold at £4, the shares touched £6 this morning. A 50% increase.
It seems something is in the offing, as well as World events that call for Aggreko’s services.
Or is something a foot here apart from providing more electric for home brewers in Scotland? Perhaps we are under attack for a potential takeover? Looks like we have lost Premier oil now too as they were too cheap.
My main concern is Weston's disdain for shareholders. The man is quite vocal on that matter (the fact that we don't, that is!)
The only problem I see is that it does not have any support until 320p - 330p if it closes below 390's today.
Unless some good news lands by chance.
Not good to see the SP fall below 400p. No support till around 350p.
Forgot too say our biggest investment is FFWD which in the last few weeks has gone from 5p to 11p and we expect it to treble or even get to 50p - 60p
AGK is a strong buy
We, like your self buy out of favour stocks and sectors, but not in the quantity you do.
We are nearly 80 and it is save to say Sell when a stocks hits it highest and buy when the blood is running in the gutter. At the top it usually only goes one way, at its low most recover nicely thank you very much.
If it drops any more we may add to our initial purchase.
I'm in at pre-Covid level but holding for the price to return. Good investment at these levels
Decided to take the plunge yesterday and add to my portfolio of covid decimated stocks. . Picked up £10k at 440, longer term it has to be a safe bet if there is such a thing in the market. A good trading update and maintaining a divi shows what confidence the directors have in the future. I was at Royal Troon golf club a few days back and their generation equipment is everywhere as the course is getting ready for the ladies British open golf.
Good Afternoon Chelcele
If you are still a shareholder on the 3rd September then you will receive the 5p dividend which will be paid on Thursday 1st October.
I have been watching Aggreko for some time and recently bought-in but did not get it quite right but if the rise today holds then I will almost be even.
I do extensive research on all my investments and used to share my research but the Trolls seem to follow me so I will not be Posting anything in-depth here.
I live about 20 miles from their base in Dumbarton and I was brought up in the area, so I can monitor activity at their base. I also arranged 4 mortgages for a guy between 2007 -2010 whom I called the Generator Guy. This was because he repaired their generators and bought and sold second-hand generators and shipped them out in containers to Africa.
I am in the process of moving from small mark capt companies to Main Market that have a strong balance sheet, management that are approachable and most important of all they pay a dividend.
Although the Interim Dividend has been reduced by 46.7% and they pulled the final dividend, this is only temporary and when they eventually return to paying over 27p they would yield over 6% at a price of £4.50 and when you factor in that the BoE Base Rate will be negative next year (it will, used to work for a Bank) then what you will see is capital appreciation to bring the dividend yield down.

Jeffries issues a buy rating with a price target of £7.20.

Can someone tell me please, who is going to be eligible for the dividend? only those who bought in the first half of 2020?
That's what gives it confidence: "the Board has approved the payment of an interim dividend of 5 pence per share for 2020." - While others are withdrawing it
Excellent results. Good cash flow and cash reserves. Always good to have such a solid defensive stock in a portfolio.
Now looking doubtful imv. Results good however.
looks like its going ex divi
any ideas?
I’m surprised there is not any comments on this firm. Surely there must more like me who are we well down but have kept the faith. I’ve averaged down to about £10, my thesis has been there is a fantastic potential here, ever growing market, international reach, market & technical leader & potential takeover target. Weston seems to have done a reasonable job but my problem is that he has not seemed to grasp the main nettle - the Argentina & associated business. This has weighed the company down for many years. I don’t know the answer but a good businessman would have surely dealt with this issue by now. Let’s hope the Olympic contract win is the start of a flow of good news.
Could be good for Aggreko if their generators can be used in S/Carolina.
