Daz......your weak arguements are flawed on so many levels.........
"Roberts said the company told him that its power costs have risen dramatically this year".
Looks like this company will be going bust because of rising fossil fuel costs.....

I am currently in company of my American friends and they have huge fossil energy concerns........
Long and strong..........
Taskmaster
Yes thanks for looking we have a local company paneltex who build these they are also providing electric delivery vans to some of the supermarkets. I have also noticed they are now building portable cold stores with solar panels so there is obviously a market for renewables. And a move away from diesel's
Phrases such as "diesel to heat the pool" & "turning off the boiler at night" in the article suggest sloppy English usage to me. Diesel is a type of engine, not a grade of oil, although everyone says diesel oil for the grade which will work one, & e.g. "the price of diesel at the pump" (wrongly).
I say English usage, clearly Hr Dr Rudolf Diesel was not English.
Mucksy, yes understood, link was just a quick dig around, should be the easy wins out there. so whats the prob ?
There's a shortage of green Hydrogen apparently. chicken egg
2040 seams a long way off but you need a lot of infrastructure before then... LOL :)

milnrowmug, you will find that swimming pool use diesel to run swimming pools, beside if they are on the grid it's better still to have in house power genaration...
BBC News - Cost of living threat to swimming pools, says survey
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-61928066
Sturm; typically swimming pools are on-grid, do not use diesel generators, many use oil for heating. The local papers have got it wrong or been mis-read.
I do not see how this erroneous thread relates to afc.
Mucksy, such scanner trailers might be an ideal use.
Taskmaster the breat screening trailers have built in diesel generators which aren't overly big were as the mri and ct scanners need a lot of power so they are run off big generators.

Sturm I 100% agree with your sentiment however there are very few councils that share this view and will always go for the cheapest option, things are changing slowly and they need to move much faster, more and more of our planet is becoming uninhabitable either because of extreme heat, or coastal erosion, fires, floods etc yet as long as it doesn’t affect politicians living in their Mayfair penthouses they do nothing.
Daz9643, in response to your question i don't have a precise figure but even if it would be half the cost for heating up a pool including AFC profit to lease the equipment, it would still be cheaper to run, much greener, less noisy and since we go swimming to stay fit the surrounding air around the pool will be more healthy to breath...it's a win win situation for all involved...
Mucksy that would be a good market to go after.
Sturm, not sure why everyone is always so quick to throw insults, my point is yes diesel generators are more expensive to run as the cost of diesel is now at an all time high but my question remains unanswered is it more or less expensive to run than our fuel cell ? Simple question really.
How much H2 powering ashp would you need to heat a 25 metre swimming pool.
I have noticed recently mobike ct and mri scanners parked in local supermarkets carparks all powered by large diesel generators
Daz9643, i did not put the article on purpose to see how many people like you always are quick to put AFC down without knowing the facts... The one i am talking about used to cost £1800 a quarter with red diesel at 45 pence a litre, it now cost them £1800 a month with still £1.10 a litre as they still get a different diesel price.... So as usual you are all mouth and no brain... even at weekend, take a break have a kit kat and do some research for a change...
This is yet one more use for the off-grid generator!
Is our fuel cell cheaper to run then ? First thing they will ask !
I was reading in my local paper about the problems councils now have to heat swimming pools because of the cost of diesel!!! It would be great if they would use AFC fuel cell, instead of the noisy and costly diesel generators....i must send an email to AFC if the bother to look at it
