See enthusiastic comment today from Malcy's blog on Proactive Investors site (following Chevron/YPF move to step up investment in Vaca Muerta)
so I`ve been informed this share can only be sold private or in house ---ref clarkyd far as I understand its not on the market --yet
Nice 120%.profit? Hoping to time a buy back. The politics of the Argies is my only concern. However, i do not believe AEN need to worry in this respect, the Argentine welcomes industrious energy exploration, they need this to boost their failing economy. Providing these companies are making good progress? Failure is not an option, with good deals offered as an incentive. Other than a good risk investment.gla
Any news on these anyone?
I was going to hold till it reached £1 a share, but 170% profit it's a good exit point too. Good luck to holders are still here-i really hope it reaches that £1 v soon
New presentation video by CEO is on Proactive Investors website ... nothing new spoken, but useful overview.
Hi Kid... have now caught up with Bberg ... not sure there's anything new in their story... I read the comments by provincial politicos in a context of disenchantment with current Peronist regime, and elections on the way, which many incidentally think will improve the business environment. Maybe we have to accept that bargy is inextricably linked with Argy?!
Get out of this stock tomorrow
Seems to be two reasons for uptick... Westhouse Secs positive reaffirmation ... and also, an interview given by CFO Rantfl to Bloomberg.. haven't tracked it down, but seen a report of it on the Argy newspaper website lavoz.com.ar .... no news but trumpets AEN's extensive ties with YPF.
Repsol have agreed compensation for the confiscation into YPF. Should help attract more interest into area, increase farm out prices.
as the tip for Argentinian shale play, although price has risen 177% since they mentioned AEN they think there is further to go. Some thing like that. Might give a bit of support for tomorrow.
Can anybody throw light upon the Andina set-up? The demerger has bequeathed me a couple of 100 Andina shares currently carrying 0 value?
please god
....stock on AIM...? Most other stocks are heavily traded on the smallest of spikes. In just UNDER a week we have gone from 55p to 70p. Well, done all you invisible investors that are 'believers'....no predictions today, unfortunately, you all know that i think AEN has the potential to break out above 100p..
my last post was meant for the ALO bb.........sorry
..and mm's will send the sp over 2p again to force trader selling. I'd rather that than languish around 1.35p
Midas...interesting strategy to stop the mm's 'borrowing' our shares at reduced prices? The posters over on Alecto Minerals are calling for all investors to do the same! http://www.lse.co.uk/ShareChat.asp?ShareTicker=ALO&msg=1
on all major holding
Looking extremely positive and i for one can't wait for the next updates. It occurred to me that we could have resources here at Vaca Muerta that eventually could emanate that of Gulf Keystone. We have so far on drilled to 'comparatively' shallow depths and already 'oil shows' are present in every well drilled. The Argentine Govt SHOULD WELCOME today's news, as AEN has further indicated that they mean business...big time! Investors that are worried about the politics in Argentina, should worry no more. Bearing in mind that if anything could happen to dispel the Argies interests in the Falkland islands...it would be, if oil of such magnitude was discovered on their own doorstep ? Andes Energia has proven to a large extent what Argentina has hoped would eventually be 'their' oil in the Falklands could in fact be found in huge quantities on their own soil. Realisation of this would, imo, be the catalyst that President Kirschner has been waiting for as a 'get-out-clause' over their demands to be given 'back' the Islands. These islands were never owned by Argentina who seceded from Spain and gained independence 150years ago. It is my considered opinion that the current Govt will gracefully bow out of the idea of owning the Falklands as it is inherently unpopular with Argentine citizens...they don't want another slaughter on their hands. The more oil that is found on their own soil will be backed fully by the Govt with the possibility of more tax concessions and additional licences for the most successful 'operators'
http://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/news/65608/update-andes-energia-shares-rise-on-new-argentine-shale-discovery-65608.html UPDATE - Andes Energia shares rise on new Argentine shale discovery By Jamie Ashcroft February 07 2014, 11:50am 'This well, which proved the existence of the Vaca Muerta formation in the El Manzano West block with excellent petrophysical conditions is located in an area where Andes has 170,000 net acres nearby'"This well, which proved the existence of the Vaca Muerta formation in the El Manzano West block with excellent petrophysical conditions is located in an area where Andes has 170,000 net acres nearby" --ADDS BROKER COMMENT-- Andes Energia (LON:AEN) shares jumped 20% this morning after it revealed a major breakthrough in the Vaca Muerta shale in Argentina. The company’s Las Varillas x-1 well discovered 125 metres (410 feet) of gross pay in the Vaca Muerta shale formation, and it said there was a “persistent presence” of oil shows. It is planned that the Vaca Muerta shale will be fracked and tested. In the meantime, samples have been taken, and in the next few months this will yield further information about the discovery, including insights into its porosity and permeability. Las Varillas x-1 was a multi-target well. It was also aimed at conventional oil reservoirs, and it encountered 262 metres of gross pay in the Agrio formation and hydrocarbons were also found in the Neuquen Group. It is the company’s third successful shale well and is particularly significant given its location, in an area of the play where Andes Energia has 170,000 net acres. Chief executive Alejandro Jotayan said: “This well, which proved the existence of the Vaca Muerta formation in the El Manzano West block with excellent petrophysical conditions is located in an area where Andes has 170,000 net acres nearby, out of an overall total of 213,000 net acres covering the Vaca Muerta formation. “This, together with the conventional discovery of the Mirador del Valle x-1 in the same area and the current productive Chachahuen concession, places Andes in an exciting position to develop these large unconventional and conventional potential resources, together with the other high potential exploration blocks in the Andes's portfolio." Barney Gray, analyst at broker Old Park Lane Capital, reckons the drilling success could provide a springboard for the development of a considerably larger area, with both conventional and unconventional resource potential. “This is Andes’ third successful well targeting this prolific unconventional formation and also the most northerly to be drilled to date, indicating that the Vaca Muerta formation may be more extensive than previously estimated,” he said.
Great news today. proactive investors have an article about Argentine discussions re the repayment of debt incurred in 2002 highlighting AEN. With 30 wells to drill over the next year (all funded), recovering confidence in Argentina and the expecting increase in production AEN look like a great short, mid and long term investment. http://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/search/index/keyword:aen
