Calling all newbies, well not just newbies I consider myself as an oldby re VRS and still go back and smile like a cheshire cat when I go through these links. Any shorters would also be well advised to see what they are dealing with. When you read through the links it will give you enough info to research for months. Make sure you read the Outcomes , Key Findings (Exploitation Route), Impact summary, and especially Spin Outs. hTTps://gtr.ukri.org/project/4E158173-5BC5-4ED9-9C05-B3A8357A9806 don't just listen to me though Prof. Andrea Ferrari, director of the Cambridge Graphene Centre is also quite excited (understatement). hTTps://cordis.europa.eu/result/rcn/209392_en.html PS this is all about the inks side of the business, Nanene is doing quite well or so I hear.
Hi Able. I was an optimist and am now even more of an optimist. Have you seen the latest on the inks side of the business not sure which will generate a major financial break through first, the ink or the Nanene side of things its 50:50 for me. Regarding the share price, as it so happens on the day that VRS announced the acquisition of the Inks 19/1/17 the sp actually dropped you could buy for 9.8p then it rallied to 27p by 6/4/17 (275% in 11 weeks). It then drifted off 50% ish to 13.25p by 13/10/17 that's only 6 months ago, another excellent buying opp. The next peak was the closing price of 1.13 on 29/1/18 wow (860% in 15 weeks) then the pull back to an intra day low of 58.35p (50% ish) on 25/4/18. I don't use charts, I don't believe they can predict the future of an explosively growing company. I do believe that they are a good tool for the short and curly types to scare nervous investors into loosing money. So rather than a chart I will just make a guess (which I will say carries about as much weight as a chart does for a company in a rapid growth faze, it is certainly not investment advice just a bit of fun. The next rally will be over 275% and will last at least 11 weeks if in that time an announcement adds financial meat to the bones the rally could go on and on and on. Good luck with your investment.
Fred / Father. I agree re luxus. That sort of deal is what vrs need more of. As it resolves an issue that i was concerned about. Vrs right in the supply chain or as nr tweeted creating an industry, or something like that. Looking forward to the herd catching on.
Re that last link. I am pretty sure that they are actually using graphite not graphene as the coming ISO standards will show. It would be interesting to see how much more or less the benefits of actually using Nanene turn out. I am sure the chinese will test it out when the start making Nanene in bulk.
Welcome aboard Dave. Max here is a link re concrete. http://www.thegraphenecouncil.org/blogpost/1501180/292599/Concrete-Graphene-Applications-Literally
Nice tweet Neill. "When I meant Advent I was obviously referring to the period before Chinese New year" That gives us until Friday 16th February. I take my hat off to your and your teams relentless hard work. Hang on, Neill mentions a Googol that is one mother of a number. He is starting to sound as mad as some of us. Get some sleep Neill.
Hi Aduk Thought i'd find you here, certainly worth a punt with some of the profits from our main investment. I must admit I have been finding it a bit difficult to value though. I have also been adding to my other sleeping beauty. I had expected this to rise a bit more on the news of first power.
Maybe the news article above could have been seen as competition. http://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-israel-cannabis-idUKKCN0WV1K1
Although this article is about a different company (i hold shares). The story is the same for Andes. Sorry if you think this is off topic. http://seekingalpha.com/article/3144836-madalena-energy-sits-in-the-sweet-spot-of-massive-shale-resources

Here is a good example, as of the time of this post UK wind power generation is 0.24 GW or 0.54 % of the current demand Yippee. It is often the case that cold spells occur during periods high pressure (light winds). In winter these periods lead to peak electrical demand with the daily peak being around 6-7pm. So if the wind don't blow and the sun don't shine we need companies like ALK to step in and balance demand. Instead of wasting money on solar and wind subsidies the gov should class methane gas as renewable energy. With nuclear and coal scaling down we are going to need some pretty big batteries to store wind and solar power. Or access to new gas supplies via fracing to keep the lights on. I think that is why Hendersons are happy to own such a large % of ALK and that is why I also have a long term holding. Wave power is our biggest threat, but as long as solar and wind power remains so variable ALKs future looks btight.
