Now a major shareholder. In May 2013 the team will launch its first fund since 2006, the Volantis Catalyst Fund. This fund is being launched to take advantage of specific opportunities in the less liquid end of the UK small cap space where companies may benefit from having the Volantis Capital team on board as a major shareholder http://www.thehedgefundjournal.com/node/8637

Yet they raise £800K. Has to be aquisition. n March 2013, Adams Plc emerged following the restructuring and change of name from Carpathian Plc, formerly an AIM quoted property investing company. Fresh funding was sourced to enable the Company to continue as an AIM company with a view to making investments in the technology and life sciences sectors. It is the Board's intention to seek to acquire a direct and/or an indirect interest in projects and assets in the biotechnology sector, however they will consider opportunities in the wider technology sector as well as opportunities that may arise in other sectors. The Company will focus on opportunities in UK or Europe but will consider possible opportunities anywhere in the world. It is believed that an opportunity exists to acquire and consolidate holdings in Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SME's) operating in these sectors, with the intention of creating value for shareholders. Initially, the Company's focus will be searching for companies where there may be a number of opportunities to acquire interests in undervalued or pre-commercialisation technologies which when applied produce cost savings or revenue enhancement for customers. Early acquisition of these innovative technologies should provide maximum returns for shareholders. The Directors see this sector as having considerable growth potential for the foreseeable future and many of the prospects they have identified are in this sector. The Directors will focus on early stage investments and believe that any investment target will have at least one of four key components: a strong management team; an innovative product proposal; revenue enhancing or cost saving capabilities; and high growth potential. The Company may invest by way of purchasing quoted shares in appropriate companies, outright acquisition or by the acquisition of assets, including the intellectual property, of a relevant business, or by entering into partnerships or joint venture arrangements. Such investments may result in the Company acquiring the whole or part of a company or project (which in the case of an investment in a company may be private or listed on a stock exchange, and which may be pre-revenue), and such investments may constitute a minority stake in the company or project in question. The Company will not have a separate investment manager. The Company may be both an active and a passive investor depending on the nature of the individual investments. The Board will place no minimum or maximum limit on the length of time that any investment may be held and therefore a short term disposal of any investments cannot be ruled out. The Directors will however ensure that any investments meet strict due diligence criteria and the primary focus will be on companies post viability testing phase, to mitigate risk associated with early stage investment. This will not preclude the Company from considering investments in suitable projects in ot

They are now close to investing, aquiring a pharma company. Recent appointments are starting to make sense now.
Yeah seems they have pushed it up big time from this morning, getting 7.319p to sell at moment.
But the spread is too much. Placing 50% disc to current SP

At the year end, the Company held two investments both of which are quoted on AIM and had a carrying value of €174,000. Total equity and net assets attributable to shareholders amounted to €250,000 at 31 March 2015 which is €125,000 higher than at the previous year end and mainly reflects the receipt of €150,000 of funds from the issue of new shares in September 2014 from the exercise of warrants at €0.02165 per share.

Richard Griffiths and Robert Quested were early investors in Flow.
some research into Robert Quested reveals that he is resident in the United Arab Emirates where his business interests include pharmaceutical importation and wholesaling. His career in the Middle East started in Saudi Arabia in the 1970s where he was involved in the provision of pharmacy services to the military and continued in a similar capacity in The Sultanate of Oman. He has been an active investor in the UK stockmarket over the last 30 years.
fund raise looks like they are ready to pounce.
Well Bansman, the spread is huge, and puts off majority of punters. If they tried a dummy buy/sell first, they would see the spread is not quiet so bad. The BOD has stated waiting for suitable investment opportunities. I do not think R Griffiths is kind of guy who wants his cash sitting around doing nothing. I am hoping there is a un-listed company that ADA are ready to bring to the market. Saves all the trouble and expense of an ipo. ADA may go boobies up, but may surprise us. The last shell that I bought into ( a tip from a friend), was a small hire company, and a reverse T/O by a pharmaceutical company saw the sp go from 7p to £1.70 in a week. It was 20 years ago, and I only had £200 in, and took out £5K. Here's hoping. But as always, it's a risk, and only gamble money you can afford to lose.
Nearly asked to talk dirty but thought I might get me banned, ho hum. Picked up this from ADA accounts. "The financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis, the validity of which is dependent upon the continuing support of the shareholders; this support will enable the company to continue for the foreseeable future." Seems high risk to me &, with the Euro tumbling, why isn't everyone piling in instead of out? Need more data.
A lost soul found his virgin then! Cracked me up! ;-)
Got there & found a virgin BB. Lol.
1. Massive sell last week! but SP did not drop to much? 2. Richard Griffths is mentioned in article I found as having 28% interest, but no mention in the holdings on the Adams website. http://www.adamsplc.co.uk/rule-26.htm or does he come under Forest Nominees ltd? 3. The same non exec Chairman Nicholas Nelson, appears to have another shell interest Ducat Ventures. Is there more? http://www.ducatventures.co.uk/rule-26.htm 4. Why is the sp in Euros, when company is registered on Isle of Man? (mind you, the pound is at 7 year high against the Euro) 5. The last RNS statement from the Chairman does sound encouraging. Never invested in a shell before, so don't really know much about them or risks involved
08 December 2014 ADAMS PLC Interim Results for the six months ended 30 September 2014 CHAIRMAN'S STATEMENT I have pleasure in reporting on the six month period ended 30 September 2014. As in previous periods, our overhead budget has remained tightly controlled and the Company is in a good position to pursue its acquisition policy. The Board was shown a number of acquisition candidates, but having examined them in cooperation with shareholders, we concluded that none met our strict investment criteria. We suspect that next year will provide us with a rich source of ideas and I look forward to keeping shareholders apprised of any progress in the months ahead. There is certainly no stock in yr comment Nottspie. You have obviously not gambled on this share. The price you see above is in Euros.. Xchange rate at say Eu1,25 =£1, then Eu0.13 = c 10p. so 100,000 at 10p = £10k = Eu13K. Do not leave your present location, do not attempt any share transactions, do not reply to this post. For investors here, I am intrigued by the holdings in the co., and some notable investors taking a punt. This maybe a shell co with the objective of a reverse T/O to get a listing for a co with 'market potential'. On the other hand, it may, as per RNS's, just invest in what BOD's see as growth cos in new technology to increase shareholder value. My 2 main stocks for this are FLOW and ILIKA ( not ramping, fact)., and R Griffiths in invested in both. I will add, at this juncture, if anybody is still reading, that I was in both stocks before Griffiths, and would therefore suggest, that BOD are not investing in present listed cos, but is a shell for a reverse T/O by a new player. My gamble is modest, but with the no of shares in issue, could be very lucrative. I have also thought that Griffiths has invested, what for him is 'small fry', and below the %age holding forcing a T/O of the co., that he maybe on a ego trip and using this 'shell' to bring to the market an idea which has been nurturing in his brain for untold years. It's a punt. Follow the money. Who cares. But, Nottspie, You now know, in GPB ( and Eu), what you will have to fork out to have a stake in the company. I'm not suggesting you buy, and I do agree with your final sentence of your posting: ''Dont think you can put a lot of stock on the info on this particular board''. I would add, with my own consent, or any other board, on any stock. All in MHO of course, One final comment ( yawn), its 3am here, just returned from night out, is always expect the unexpected.
Why would you sell 1 share?
