out of respect for those already invested here, i don't think i should post that report here so close to the results announcement. but you can drop me an email and i'll send you the link. the address is the same as my username here, at yahoo dot com. let me know your username on lse. zigstock, what i meant was that as long as there is any type of doubt that lingers pertaining to a company, it will always be a drag on the share price as long as the company is not vigorously protecting their interests to try and bring back investor confidence. share prices always climb a wall of worry. cutting relations is not fighting back(to me). suing the pants off Next, holding a press conference to immediately answer shareholder questions/doubts, that's fighting back to me. seymour pierce, although a well known name, could be just protecting their losses although i hope they know they can be sued if their press statements don't add up. the price/earnings ratio is so low...so before anybody invests, they should be asking is this really an undervaluation or is there a hidden story. i think i found the hidden story. this will be my last post here before results. apologies to current investors.
are underestimating just how good these results will be!!! Expect a dramatic rise in profits!!
Spoke to Nandita Sahgal who didn't give much away. She had the article from Next forwarded to her from ACHL but wouldn't forward it to me. I can't get it on Google - I think you need to subscribe to Next. As Bert was saying, it seems someone's got it in for the company. Nandita said the reporters had gone round the plantations just after harvest and were reporting on the lack of fruit (just picked!). Although ACHL have clearly knocked most of the article for six, it's done it's damage for today. Hopefully, this will all be silenced by good results Friday.
Full year div is in December buddy.
Going by last year's dates it's not for a while : Div ex-date Nov 09 2011 Div pay-date Dec 30 2011
I must say that you are VERY WRONG in your statement saying " they are not fighting these allegations" . If you look back from the previous lie which was made they come back and decided to cut their link with chaoda. With this new lie they have answered fully and rebuffed the claim straight away! I have done my research thoroughly on ACHL and they are solid fundamentally and they offer great value at the current sp. I received my dividend last year and am very happy with the company! STRONG BUY
Only an observation, over the past month I have seen large buy trades normally towards the end of the day.every time the price ticks up it appears to get dragged back why? I believe this share will come good in the near future. If any one wants to check out the buys again today,an example of what I have said. I for one will not be selling not cause I love my share but happen to believe in the company. I feel they respond in professional manner and can not be held responsible for what others imply. Was happy with dividend payment in December. Worst case scenario price stays bout the same.,still get dividen payments, happen to think this will move steady upwards. Who mopped up all the sells today?
Will certainly take what you say with a pinch of salt. Absolute madness to sell now with the results on Friday. If the results are bad or if there is some other reason to sell, then sell through knowledge and research rather than de ramping. What report are you referring to last year?
i'm not sure how much longer you want to be in. from previous lessons, i have learnt to cut losses and what matters is that the average amount of times you trade is a profit, rather than holding on to a loss, hanging on and waiting for the share price to come back up. after a while, i realised that a peaceful night's sleep is priceless when compared to the losses i've had to bear when i first started out investing/trading. ACHL is being scrutinised very deeply and they are not fighting these allegations to their best capacity. it would anger me as an investor. and as an investor, i would rather take the loss and put the cash somewhere else that fights for their shareholders. please take anything i say with a pinch of salt! as i don't want you blaming me if the share price actually does rise after you materialise your loss. =)
i swear i don't normally talk a share down because i have always believed anybody who is willing to part with their money should always do comprehensive research before deicding to do so. i almost bought into ACHL's recent exclamations but came across a report from last year which made me uncomfortable about this company and hence, didn't buy in. so all i'm saying is whoever it is that is thinking of buying in as a new investor, please dyor. deeply.
yep, but what can we do.. just ride it out or sell out i guess- will see how it goes tomorrow and friday. let's hope for excellent RNS to override this dip! )
someone out there sure likes pi$$ing on our parade.
i'm with you bert. frustrated at myself mostly for going overweight on this stock as the results have always involved a degree of drama. weather B.S., Chaoda B.S., and now this rat B.S. Hope they start from the stinking journo and work back...even if it does lead internal: "To the best knowledge of the Company, only persons authorized by the relevant company are entitled to obtain copies of information filed with SAIC ("SAIC Filings") under normal circumstances."
Thank you

There have beeen a couple of mentions regarding ACHL paying dividends. I am obviously looking in th ewrong places but can someone tell me when the ex div date and pay div date is? Thanks
Did you speak with Seymour P - they're meant to be ringing me back - a Nandita Sahgal
I understand from this broker that the company is going to use Fridays results (which we know are market beating) to put to bed finally the rumours that have been circulationg. They did this last year when they issued that defence document (which to me was much a do about nothing). The fact is we have a company with significant assets, profits, trading at low earnings multiples in a huge growing sector and lots of cash. Oh and 4% dividend on AIM. Pretty undeniable really!
Just voicing my anger and frustration buddy, main holding still intact here and still very confident. ACHL should smoke that rat out and sue his skin off his a55 - that should put a stop to it! lol
twice is no coincidence. what is the point in complaining, it's not like there is a press complaints commission in hk. Just top up and hope that ACHL are targeting the persons responsible for this.
I mean, look at it- last year 16 Sept final results- price gap up from prev day close at 47 to close at 52. Right after that the Chaoda incident... now, on Wednesday just before results on Friday, the same thing just in another jacket?? Something doesnt sit right here.....
. . It annoys me that with any bad rumours and half truths the SP dives but with any positive news it hardly moves up. ........... With an output of 6 million tons of oranges per year this share surely is A WINNER.
I know buddy, still holding- sold my topup of yesterday so no big loss. Last night I went through previous RNS's and actually written a nice "ramp" for ACHL.. what was my frustration this morning! Still got confidence here but evertime, just as results are out or to be announced, then this kind of s.hit hit the fan!? What's goin on? Once ok- coincidence.. twice? I smell a rat somewhere I tell you- bignuts shorters protecting them shorts? dunno....
it is a disappointing drop. But the business is still cash rich 15p generating profitable turnover taken over another growth business exposed to a large market with a strong currency Has a consistant record of growth over a long period Is trading at a big discount to assets. The business offers a 4.5% dividend and qualifies for ISA The company also has an agreed mandate to purchase its shares and with considerable firepower this would offer support. The story does state that there maybe some questions on the acreage being leased. This does not override the all the above. I am holding, there are never any gaurantees but certainly seems an over reaction, which is unfortunate. GL dont worry too much hang on and see what occurs.
