Used to read alot as a teenager, Asimov and Arthur C Clarke for sci fi novels plus Douglas Adams(true genius).
The bond film was like 40 minutes of adverts plus 150 minutes when the film started.
Haven't seen the new Bond film yet but will do soon ..
Yes i really enjoyed Dune but i am a fan and have Volume 3 (Children of Dune) Volume 4 ( God emperor of Dune) and volume 5 (Heretics of Dune) on my bookshelves.
This latest Dune explains the plots a little better so its more easier to understand. Its still quite dark and malevolent but has all the essentials to keep you hooked power, romance, religion betrayal, fighting and some superb sci-fi effects ... Frank Herbert was way ahead of his time!!
I took my youngest son to see no time to die a couple of weeks ago, first trip there since covid.
I remember as a teenager going to see the original dune, is the remake worth going to?
Restaurant group good results today up 18%.
Pity its not on the main market Matt I don't know if it has enough liquidity on Aquis. I see IG have it as a close only even though they can trade on Aquis. Probably good for a long-term hold which i know you are long-term investor GL with it ...
On another subject went to the cinema last week for first time since Covid and saw DUNE ... Just like old times!!
Underneath our noses gold field shares are going up faster than our portfolios lol
Sfor and m&s still looking cheap imo.
Kr1 was highlighted initially in Telegraph as a way to incorporate crypto into a sipp or isa, otherwise tricky with fca restrictions.
Re Crypto. KR1 still my pick (an idea I got from you GS). Current price 169p versus NAV estimated to be 250p, including a host of interesting blockchain investments still valued at close to zero. Reason why discount is quite this big largely due to quote on the less transparent Aquis exchange, but I think this is an opportunity.
Hi GS i and Matt. sold all of my LGEN at a decent profit and put some of it in MNG currently having a 9.5% yield perfect for my income P/F and right now MNG is at a good price . Some more i put into CSN Chesnara having a 7.8% yield ( ive held and added CSN since 2014 and its been my best income share of all time. The remainder i put into ROO Deliveroo , when i found out that ROO was backed by Amazon that really got my interest and i bought it at 2.75 I sold one trance at 2.89 and will let the rest run up to £3.00 . Good luck all
Hi GS Yes i saw that profit uptick of M&S and its very good as it has always been a slow burner for a long time. I will investigate it further now.
M&S yes i saw that profit news . It was always a slow burner I will investigate M&S further now
Hi GS good luck with Purp its had a torrid time of late!
Last year and earlier this year i successfully traded Foxt several times but it hit a brick wall and is going nowhere right now..
Best of luck with it
M&s pops up with its biggest profit that I can see by a country mile 500m pre tax, Steve Rowe appears to be doing a fantastic job.
Its massive buy imo at current prices even with the existing 12 month graph, target 400p+
Ive taken a small punt in purple bricks at 32p, its now offering a money back guarentee which might help it regain market share(ref ubs upbeat forecast in Sept)
Given wage inflation, maintained low interest rates, low unemployment the housing market should do well in the next 12 months.
Yes that Coinbase pro looks a bit complex to me. Ill be staying off of it for now
Yes Ftse. its the right time of year with trading volumes on the up . It would be good to see it up and above 2020 level's
Thanks for youtube link.
I think we could be in for a positive 3 months stock market wise.
Sorry to hear that Gs ...Sticking to what you know probably is best.
Matt traded in and out of DARK for a small profit on Wednesday in the first hour. ..Will now wait for market sentiment to see which way its going . Gl alll
Came out of shiba with a 4% loss which isnt too bad considering its continued crash, wont be dabbling in crypto anytime soon lol.
Good luck GS let us know how you get on
Bought some shiba and molecular amount of mana
Thanks for that Matt re CMC that is very encouraging. It does currently appear that IGG.. PLUS and CMCX are just a little out of favour with the market . The winter months should see more trading and sentiment should turn. Ill hold on but also underwater ..... Re IGG 670/ 680 looks a good entry point if it gets there.
GS Lloyds yes very good results ..... Pity they didn't throw any of that cash to us shareholders re special or increased divi. m 60 p next stop, if we get a rate increase we should see some movement
