When in a warmer climate, with sweeter tomatoes readily available, i am happy to eat with every meal, or simply seasoned with a little salt and ground black pepper as a snack. Cant get enough of them :)
From UK soil i think you are hard-pressed to beat a sweet freshly picked turnip, raw, not a fan once cooked.
Another i like is Kohlrabi, again raw, as part of a sald. Recommend if you haven't tried.

Get some "tomato grow bags" and some canes stick, plant the tomato plants in the grow bags and build a lattice for the tomatoes to grow up into.
