Nice to see Lloyd Edmunds liking today's MinRes news on LinkedIn
https://www.linkedin.com/in/lloyd-edmunds-98600050/recent-activity/
MinRes for their Ashburton project have Operating Costs of just US$21-25/t.
It's very significant news for the long term success of UFO's Brockman & Vivash sites. Just takes time for it to sink in.
Steve, I suspect equipment has been reserved with delivery date to be confirmed. If we're not digging until Mar/Apr it doesn't make much sense to have cabins in place now. 7-8 months away. Once they are onsite they are incurring costs so get them onsite a month or so before.
Just to add to what Tigrrr said, I’m pretty sure Bill specified that part of the reason capex will be lower is accomodation won’t be needed, they will only need an on-site office effectively. The town of Newman is right next door with plenty of accommodation around
I personally just think news flow is going to be a bit slow in the next few weeks. Bill isn't going to be very chatty any more and I get the feeling (just my opinion) that given we haven't heard a peep from Rod yet that he has to be fully on boarded as a director before he can talk to us as the CEO. I don't know how long that piece of string is, particularly over summer months, anybody else have more knowledge on that and point I'd welcome factual input, factual though please.
As far as hanc0ck, all the last communications do talk about the camp location, haul road location etc. From what I can glean between the lines, permits need to be in place before you can put a shiny portacabin in. Having lived in Oz for 5 years I know what they're like about permits and health and safety. They wont be able to dig a dunny (bush toilet) without a permit but also won't be able to have permanent boots on ground without the dunnys in place for the team. The heritage surveys for native land rights are massively important over there and nothing can move before that's all done. Now that Bill's workload has been made a bit lighter he'll be 100% on that work... this is a good thing!!
So, like I said, I think newsflow will be light for a few weeks, plenty of pretty pictures of Hanc0ck coming through which points to activity on site, sit tight Steviom, all will come good in my opinion! DSO at Hanc0ck is what caught me with UFO , EH and MM are a huge bonus that has evolved after I started buying in but the DSO is a complete no brainer....patience!!!
My bad Tiggrr, all very interesting. However if we are looking towards first quarter 23 is it not reasonable for us to see a bit of activity on the ground? The next few months will fly by. Even if only a few portacabins and shiny shovels. I appreciate organising a drill off shore is a bit more complex but at least on the build up share holders get regular updates on environmental licences, h&s approvals, drill ship charter and crews, the news flow on the build up to spud is mostly very regular. Bringing it back to us, with a target date for let's say March 23, we aren't really getting much news at the moment, a rns saying we've bought a portaloo a kitchen and shovel for the site would be a start :-)
Steviom, Onslow is the port they're building where they load the iron ore, not the mine, We were originally told Hanc0ck will truck to port headland. Min Res are building Onslow which will be closer for us to Brockman and Vivash. Building an enclosed ore storage and offshore loading facility is a much bigger proposition than us digging DSO at surface, grading and trucking to a different facility that's already shipping. That's how Q1 for us at Hanc0ck when onslow is later
These guys have already made a start making preparations for accommodation ect and yet they are looking towards Dec 23 early 24. Have we started preparing yet on our site? If we haven't can someone explain how we will be even close to shipping DSO in the first quarter of 23.

Mineral Resources (MinRes) has started early works at its Onslow iron-ore project.
This is great news for Brockman & Vivash which are closer to Onslow than Port Hedland.
MinRes allow 3rd party ore on all their infrastructure and have low operating costs.
Hopefully we will hit Brockman's exploration target of 233M tonnes. Brockman will be mined for many decades!
