I do not really understand the sale of company shares. Does it contribute to recent drops in share price? Will it in the end increase the value of all our own shares? It really is becoming quite a fire-sale? Or is it relatively unimportant? I really need some advice on this, please...

Interim dividend of 7.3p maintained. But a question mark over the final divi (section - Chief Exec Statement "Financial Strength in Volatile Markets") My interpretation.
WOW! Great RNS

If this market downturn has confirmed anything to me, it's that UK listed dividend paying shares are appalling as a long term investment. Pretty much everyone I own has cost me money over the last 5 years or so. Once the time is right I'll sell up and move on to better investments.

Not bad for a share I regard as slow and steady.
Understand there was a piece in the Times about a possible dividend cut today. Haven't read it but picked it up on a financial website.

also at ncyt with sales update due there likely this week going by past rns and manufacturing
increased to try and meet demand ,with £millions from sales ,yet some selling there ,
now looking at other shares ,even long term like here short term share price not overly important as a long term hold like sla for me have sla for many years
some times share movements and when people sell ,and buy can be difficult to work out

share buy back likely helps keep share price up while other share prices might be falling
also with less shares to trade might also help as well
My view of share buy backs is that they are an almost guaranteed win for traders .buy today and in a few days time offload to the company agent....when the programme ends the volume falls away and with it the SP. benefits the board by rising EPS even when profits are flat.....collect the eps based bonus, rinse and repeat.
I would take a dividend (in a tax advantaged vehicle) any day. I can think of several high profile buy backs that a few months after they stop have added no value.
Can this have a negative impact short term as the frequency of trades used during the share buy back is done using bots not wanting to spike the price until they have completed?

(Sharecast News) - London stocks were set for more losses on Friday following a dire session on Wall Street amid growing concerns about a second wave of Covid-19 and after data showed the UK economy contracted by a record 20.4% in April.
The FTSE 100 was called to open 30 points lower at 6,046.
the less shares the stronger the share in my opinion
well done to SLA for this share buy back
Can only be good for us all, surely.
