Morning Moljen, all, I remember meeting you, and i kind of remember you telling me what a crap football team I supported then, can"t argue that one at the moment!
Well I spent 12 years out of the last 20 living in Liverpool and travelling widely in the NE and Midlands too! My favourite place was the NE of England. Yes, as you say that is the way, simple people no, maybe just a lot more friendly, respectful and maybe my personality was something they could relate too. In fact I felt far more at home up North than an ever changing London which I find hard to call home.
Still though there are growing problems across Europe. Time to move on eh, wouldn"t it be nice to see an RNS??
P.S. Good to see you posting here again Moljen and thanks.
Chelsea, from somebody up North can I tell you how I see it and why we were horrified. It's simple really I couldn't tell the difference between a Catholic, a Cof E, a Jewish personetc, maybe a burka or hassidic hat may give the game away at the more minority end of a religion but more importantly I wouldn't be arsed if I could, always much more interested in who a person is. Seriously I met you at one of the AGM's (2014 I think) and apart from supporting a crap football team I'd have had no idea what religion you were if you'd didn't mention it just now, isn't that the way it should be or are we just simple up North?
Hi Knowlesi, I was very lucky, all the stones surrounding were, ours just the bedded stone part. This was in Edgwarebury Cemetry, Edgware. and it happens often despite barbed wire exteriors and 24/7 security, and the same things happen at all Jewish Cemetries evry week, synagogues and on a Sabbath service outside all Jewish synagous there has to be four security guards as is the case for Jewish schools. This is all over Europe, and half the Jewish population of Paris have moved to Israel.
It is hard to comprehend in 2019, but has been going on for decades, I am just so grateful it was an issue that just didn"t go away and hearing so many people from the North declaring their disgust has I said made me well up the last few weeks. That is not just me but the whole 750k community of Jewish people in the U.K. Hence my apology for what seemed like discussing politics on a BB, it was just an issue so close to my heart and brings together how so many of us from different Political persuasions feel too.
You have probably heard the sheer size of sworn affidavits from all walks of life, Corbyn will walk away, but the crimes won"t.
Thanks so much for your kind concerns,, just those couple of posts I made bought 3 e-mails of support and it is my sincerest hope that recrimination ends, and we all move forward back to decency, it saddened me for years that people just never knew, the press and media have a lot to answer for. Feel like I have got it out of my system, and thanks for all for allowing me to do so.
My best to you Knowlesi ATVB
Torquay Fan Morning All, putting all our differences well aside, I thought that was a pretty excellent post you posted yesterday.
There are just two points I feel I want to comment on, the first,............"" Corbyn understandably losing wholesale, votes from the Jewish community ?""...........I would just remove the question mark from that statement, it is a fact. For generations the Jewish vote has been as solid to Labour as the red wall of the North. This issue has been going on for many years now and absolutely no effort from Corbyn was seen to placate the growing anger, fear and growing anti-semetism we have endured. My eyes welled when I heard Michael Goves speech directed to the Jewish population.
Your second point being............."".BJ is in charge now - I hope the Media can let him get on with the job without excessive prying and without an expectation of him cuddling every crash and flood AND apologising for everything that occurs and also that BJ can use the excellent Jacob Rees-Mogg again, after sidelining his 'Toff' twang for the duration. How Diane Abbott will fare under a new Labour Leader - (banished for campaigning duties for obvious reasons, she reappeared on Polling day wearing 2 left shoes.
Here's to Government !!"""
Yes I think you summed that up very nicely, there is so much more I could say, but this BB did so well not to bring politics to the fore, we find it hard enough to agree on Scancell, lol. I guess the Jewish issue was one I felt I wanted to comment on, and just pray when I next visit the graves of my parents and brother the nazi swastikas have been removed!!! And Labour wonder why they lost?
I agree - Boris has won a decisive majority. The question becomes does he implement a one-nation policy that actually benefits those who have trusted him with their vote or will city interests be favoured in their quest for profit. Spending as much as Boris proposes to do without going into significant debt is likely to mean a continued freeze on benefits despite the mantra that austerity is over.
For those will knowledge of protectionism the lessons of the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act always linger. This NYT article is interesting:

Nonetheless, as my pensions are paid in Pounds, I hope that new Government produce more benefit than pain to me as I do not want to be forced into employment again.
Boris took the Tory vote up just 1% for an 80 seat majority. Amazing to see Labour strongholds falling to Tory, what's going on - boredom with Brexit dithering and a desire to move on, BJ's stronger line on crime and prison sentencing, BJ's stronger line on Immigration, BJ's driving personality comparing well with Corbyn's floppiness, Corbyn understandably losing wholesale, votes from the Jewish community ?
Corbyn is a ditherer and doesn't give the impression that he could manage a Tea party never mind a Political party let alone a Government for that matter. But for me it's strange that the total Tory vote only increased 1% - with all these Labour voters chipping in, does this suggest the Tories lost a significant number of Tory 'Remainer' voters ? I wonder where those votes went to ?
Chastened - Tory MP's who defected to the Lib Dems - all gone.
Chastened - the 22 Tory MP's who lost the whip - all gone - (I was particularly chuffed to see Dominic 'Rumpole' Grieve fail to get back in). Hezza was on TV today saying 'time to move on' but I'd guess characters like John Major and Philip Hammond are spitting teeth.
BJ is in charge now - I hope the Media can let him get on with the job without excessive prying and without an expectation of him cuddling every crash and flood AND apologising for everything that occurs and also that BJ can use the excellent Jacob Rees-Mogg again, after sidelining his 'Toff' twang for the duration. How Diane Abbott will fare under a new Labour Leader - (banished for campaigning duties for obvious reasons, she reappeared on Polling day wearing 2 left shoes.
