LMAO: who's Perfect not whose :)
Red, in case you were wondering about the pencils?
https://youtu.be/G2DCExerOsA
As it's a very dull Sunday apologies for being off topic but must say how surprising to realise that what seems to me a near life threatening bout of man flu. Is to others a source of hilarity. Thinking you might have been acting out of compassion? I tried the suggested cure. Any suggestions how to remove the offending item, from my nose!!!
One up each nostril? I thought that was pencils??
Oh no....wrong illness...lol
Latest crop of capsules will do the trick....one up each nostril.....;o). Speedy recovery.
Feeling lousy but a quick response.
Isle,
Well remembered re: Nuri. I did comment more or less as you have indicated. Nuri does tend to go OTT but whose perfect, other than me ;-)
Normalguy.
They did indeed stitch us all up. Then I believe Osborne joined them as a consultant. What chance do we have?
IMO. Shareholders and Employees would in a perfect World coexist perfectly as they should have a common goal. Sadly however it's seldom the case.
Back to being nursed. Man flu has its benefits but I don't recommend it.
Remember when good old Gordon did a deal with one of the capitalist companies who assured him that they would not sell up. Then sold up. That was a capitalist dream and that money could have been re invested.
@ nuri123a.
It's not the posties fault that you are losing money hand over fist.
I believe it was Redceo who called you out some time ago, by suggesting that investing wasn't for you. You were bleating on that if RMG went below 250p you'd sell up never to return.
Absolutely slating the company then.
Now it's the posties turn for your anger.
Sell up and take your misery elsewhere.

nuri, what about the £1.2bn that private investors have gives out of the bottom line since July 2014?
RM could have done with that to invest in new technology but now they will need to borrow or we could just sell off some more family silver. I wonder what Mount Pleasant would fetch on the open market?
Well - anyone dealing with the public is providing either goods or services.... the public good is a legal term..... could equally apply to banks; airlines.... RMG posties in denial!
@Oli G.
Nearly missed that from nuri123a
I thought we were a public service. Isn't that what Mr Back keeps banging on about?

nuri, you posted at 10:30 today "Good luck - and just remember RMG is not public sector or a public service - its 100% private sector and almost all of you posties are as capitalist as any on these share forums. Your votes for strike are nothing more than large scale looting and sabotage of your own shares and their long-term prospects."
Like the majority of RM employees holding 913 SIP (free) shares really care about the SP or divided?
By the way, RM have paid out over £1.28 per share in divided payments since July 2014. That's over £1.2bn which is two thirds of the amount that RM have just borrowed for the parcels transformation programme and RM still turns a profit.
I think that RM could have done quite nicely on it's own without having to resort to private investment. Even your idol Thatcher wasn't prepared to sell "the queen's head".
BTW, if RM are not a public service then what is it? A high court judge recently pointed out that IA was not in the public interest. Was he wrong?
nuri, where are you sourcing your data from?
Prior to privatisation in 2013 RM had been turning a profit for many years despite Post Office Counters Ltd haemorrhaging cash. The doomed/failed Horizon project cost the taxpayer £700m alone!
RM and POCL were separated and RM was sold off despite it being the government's cash cow (RM used to hand the government most of it's profits!) as David Cameron and George Osborne's austerity programme meant that they were unwilling to lend RM the taxpayers money to transform and upgrade the parcels side (how very short sighted). The sale of RM also meant a £2bn windfall for the Treasury thus massaging Osborne's figures.
As for the CWU brainwashing its members? Do you really think that Terry Pullinger has the ability to brainwash 81,000 postal workers? If that were true then don't you think that the RM BoD would want some of that magic. There should be political parties and other large employers queuing out of the door to employ him! If I was TP then I would be pleased to think that anyone thought that I was that powerful.
The reason that 81,000 postal workers chose to support IA was because they know the inside story.
bubbles59 fair enough but saying where you work and in what function would hardly compromise you but up to you of course. GL and hopefully Aviva helps you recover what you have lost here and elsewhere.
I seem to have hit a raw nerve here which was not my intention. Maybe some have become emotionally attached to the company . I realise too that psychologically, it is difficult to crystallize losses in the hope of a rebound in SP. FWIW, I am employed actually in a supervisory role myself, but I don't wish to elaborate as obviously I could compromise my position. From my pov, I decided it was best to offload my holdings. I realised considerable losses but feel things were only going to get worse. I switched the proceeds to Aviva plc as there is probably a good chance of mitigating the losses I sustained. Perhaps I'm wrong to do so,but that is the decision I made. I'll say no more on the matter and just wish all the best of luck!
@ nuri123a.
How quick should your postie walk?
I Spy
I dont buy it for one second. I would say the CWU are the real bullies; their statements are aggressive; their approach militant. 97% vote for strike is pretty much a dictatorship....
Bubbles - I worked in PwC - travelled from Belfast to London and other parts of the UK at 5.30am three days a week. I worked for a boss who was a bully. I worked 80 hour weeks - got no over time. I was given projects in areas I had little or no knowledge.... don't lecture me on working conditions - I never whinged and whined... I got on with it. If things were as bad as you say, I dare say the churn rate or staff turnover rate wouldn't be 7%. If you don't like RMG, work somewhere else... the door is open, just leave. I actually think a lot of the bullying is actually management trying to move RMG into the real world.... my postie didn't look stressed walking around my estate - he wouldn't get a meddle for walking quick! I wonder why the staff turnover rate is so low - 1/3 of the national average.... strange!
Bubbles your experience is greatly different to my own, where did you work, what role, function? Would help to give some context to your opinions.
That's not my experience so maybe you are a disgruntled ex employee. I've worked in a mail centre for many years and always found it a pleasant and relaxed place to work an through overtime I have made a good living and that is mostly thanks to the CWU. Most people I work with do a good days work. Isn't that how work should be? Or should you be worked to death and in fear of losing your job like some other places?
Nuri, If you knew what I know regarding the incompetence of management/supervisors within Royal Mail group, you would,I'm sure, divest yourself of any shares you may own of this company. There is a culture of bullying and intimidation of the people working at the coalface and staff morale could not be any worse. No business can thrive under such circumstances. Lower management cannot be retrained to gain the necessary man/person management skills, as the capacity to treat people with respect and dignity comes from the soul, and unfortunately, for the majority of these 'bosses' , you're talking about defective innate attitude issues that will never be remedied. I feel certain, having witnessed the toxic atmosphere from within for myself that RMG is absolutely not investible. The above is not from my opinion, but from my knowledge. I feel certain that the endemic poisonous status quo within rmg can only massively contribute to considerable further declines in the SP in future. Ignore my advice by all means, that is anybody's prerogative. After all, for all anybody here knows, I could be a bitter or disgruntled ex employee or something. The truth is though, by sharing this information, I may be doing someone a big favour I feel. Regardless of anyone's investment decisions on RMG, I wish you the best of luck!
investors are doing businesses a favour - parting with their hard earned money and buying the company from the Government. We are the only and ultimate owners of RMG. The Government flogged it as it was loss making. I'm not apologising in wanting to make a return and I make no apology for expressing my views on CWU. Royal Mail is not owned by the Unions but it seems the Unions have bought employees vote in return for the promise of some unrealistic demands. It seems that a 97% vote in favour of strike leaves the workforce pretty much brainwashed and incapable of any independent thought of the need for radical changes in RMG. Good luck - and just remember RMG is not public sector or a public service - its 100% private sector and almost all of you posties are as capitalist as any on these share forums. Your votes for strike are nothing more than large scale looting and sabotage of your own shares and their long-term prospects.
cogram.. and? was you looked after?
nuri, are you for real? " I think the least we should expect is a good dividend considering we've absorbed a 40% reduction in share price."
I don't believe that you were forced into investing in RM?
Your only contribution to RM is to "top up" on shares while they are cheap in the hope of a good dividend payment and eventually get a return on your investment. You make it sound like you are doing us a favour.... bizarre.
Derek - I think the least we should expect is a good dividend considering we've absorbed a 40% reduction in share price. Anti-capitalists like yourself will discover just how bad the losses for Labour will be in a few weeks time. Any right minded person would avoid Labour like the plaque...
