The process to turn around Argentina is a long one and not something that can be done in the typical political cycle (4 years). I suspect Macri has done a lot of good things and they will filter through into the economy over the next few years.
I prefer Macri to Fernandez, but it's not like Macri's economic policies were doing great for Argentina. But good to see Fernandez saying Argentina will comply with the debt obligations. Maybe Fernandez can surprise us all and actually improve the situation in Argentina. It's a (very) strange political world these days after all...
Fernández tells IMF chief Argentina will 'comply with debt obligations

Fair play Brasso.. only time will tell how **cking mad you are. But having as low an average as possible here is massive...
Sale to a third party or taken private by PL could easily be at not a huge premium to the s/p at that time for eg .. and the s/p bounce that hopefully will eventually come here and might even hopefully be a vey good percentage one might still not be a great boost for some/plenty ... eg 100% on 4p is not going to make many long-termers here rich.. far - far - from indeed.
I intend buying more of these again soon.. and maybe even, relatively speaking, lots more as I didn't hold that many when the latest s/p melt down started, fortunately in this case ( less fortunate in other cases )
PS: Rock solid starting buying at this level is at a huge advantage to most here, clearly, but good for him for timing.... although some of the points he makes in his post are are not rock solid imho.. but I'm not going there as I've done enough marco AIM O&G negativity previously and I'm not going to annoy long suffering longs further.. and of course good stock pickers - including at good price entry levels, obviously - can win well in all sorts of difficult environments.
Brasso I don't think you are stupid, I invested last week elsewhere for hopefully a quick buck so I can invest more in PPC soon. Reality is PPC are just out of fashion at the moment, once they come back in fashion there will a rectification in price. I brought millions of NUOG shares last week hoping to at least double/triple my money before end of Jan and buy into PPC. PPC's fundamentals are good and compared to others in the sector brilliant/excellent. The sp was trading at 7p before the political problems in Argentina, however that has currently been resolved (the Argentina government might do something again but unlikely as they want to encourage investment into the country). In the mean time PPC have now got gas flowing plus they have completed a deal increasing their production. Logically you would say the shares should now be at 8/9p or 10p, however if logic worked in these markets we'd all be rich. Like I say it's just fashion, remember the Dot Com bubble ? all the headless chicken investors were interested in was technology companies, often they had ludicrous valuations, no revenue and many years before they would even make a profit yet people couldn't hand their money over quick enough and look what happened. It was just a trend/fashion, the o&g industry in general is somewhat out of fashion at the present time, it will come back at some point. all fashions do and PPC be be high on the list of companies to invest in.
IMO I've been less than impressed with Rob Shepherd. Albeit his performance is marginally better than his investing having bought 1m shares at an average around 9p. All I see from Mr Shepherd are his arch remoaner and anti UK gov tweets. Clearly this is his own opinion and not the company's but......
Its showing up on LSE now timed just after 09:00am.
Brave or stupid? Time will tell...
Looks like they are keeping B3's purchase from us unless it's gone on NEX.
The Angostura acquisition completed today was just a rubber stamping exercise but in these times a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, so this is definitely good news.
Northern- Hopefully President can keep providing updates with positive news and the SP can really improve from here.
Brasso- You have over 1M shares now? Haha! For a man who has made his misgivings about this company known, that's a brave move.
I really think/hope 4p was the bottom. That this share is undervalued. There is a road map in place to grow oil & gas production exponentially in Argentina. Louisiana looks set to continue adding to the bottom line. And who knows, maybe something will happen in Paraguay. And maybe one day this share will make us all rich! Here's hoping anyway....
GLA
Topped up (averaged down) with 400k this morning at 4.2p. I must be f**king mad!
I now have more shares than Rob Shepherd.

Good news
Purchase completed, RNS not showing on LSE
but not today it seems, anyone know why?
Must admit DRichi it does seem odd. Just want President to keep updating with positive news and making those sort of decisions that will expand the company with profitable assets like before. Paraguay is now starting to appear on the horizon too. Let's hope they have a big result there.
Atb,
