Oh, I'm sure they'll find the cash somewhere. It wouldn't be massive and may be financed based how much of Zama they are untitled to
Fork out money they haven't got! Aren't they already over $100bn in debt?
Cash, Mexico have given Talos and Pemex 6 months to sort it out. Pemex will likely have to come in on the project and will have have to fork out some money toward to invest already made by the current holders. For this they will get some share in the field based on all the available data.

I guess you can't barter what you can't value!
Still think it's a shame that PMO and BP can't barter Zama & NS assets. Hey ho.
Forked tongue?
Kraken, personally i doubt Zama will be used - just dont see any sale happening there until next year ealriest - the Talos dispute with PEMEX needs to be resolved first before anyone will buy in. That could take years even . . . hopefully not.
Mexico & PEMEX need this and will use all ammo they have to gain at least something from it. Read the attached, interesting that PEMEX not even drilled yet on their neighbouring block and sounds like their experience at these depths is limited also so they will off Talos (IMO)

Mmmmm....can anyone smell burning?
Yep Tarth indeed that applies to any information that is pertinent and could impact the share price.
So, was it a 'pull your plonker' or like everything, no smoke without fire ? Ummmmmm . . .
No smoke without fire Ferret, That wont be the last time we hear about it either.
Back to the required equity raise, nothing set in stone on how the company will raise the funds yet, Zama sale could fund it or a equity raise somehow, or we may even raise it through the debt re-financing (Hopefully not), We may get a open offer as shareholders or a RI with a share buyback scheme planned. Who knows !
But what I do know is oil wont stay in the $40's for long and neither will our SP ! Up Up
Share prices generally don't drop on such a rumour, as PMO proceeded to do shortly after!
I believe under the City Code on Mergers and Takeovers one is only obliged to report on "rumours" if said rumours have a material effect on the sp (which didn't happen in this case).
As expected, not the right forum to update investors regarding any potential of the take-over.
Surprised we havent received a denial but then again if BOD had to respond to any rumour they would spend more time replying and doing a proper IR job than cleaning Tony's shoes:)
Seriously, cant find anything even in USA more about this with Apache so guess need to put it down to over-zealous reporting by StreetInsider, now a less reputable outfit as a result.
