I must admit it seems strange/poor that there has been a 60% rise at ODX and the BoD haven't felt the need to update the market with an RNS.
Andinio, it was a joke. Lighten up ffs.
rudey
It's not your bulletin board. It's for everyone.
Balman
And any investor who shys away from discussing competition is more than a motley fool
Shlt day today really. I thought after last night's close we were going to get the Quotient figures today. Maybe tomorrow.
Has he gone? Good. Don't want these rude ODXers swearing on our bulletin board.
no idea re the fuss about ODX - no RNS on it either so how much of it is fluff and rumour mill?
This is the OO board, let's stick to OO stuff which by the way does get RNS'ed and we are expecting one shortly re antibody testing capacity and a possible 2nd machine.
I think I would go to the doctor if i was worried about a virus that could be life threatening to you and your family. I would not put my family at risk. To come home and say here use this. No. Sorry but I will go to the Doctor.
It does make me smile [if that's the correct word] that ODX is 60 percent up today with a market cap of circa 120 million.
I assume this is based on affordability and ease of test = expectation of considerable sales.
What price accuracy?
Orph will have its place.
Yep, it's a big market.
We'll have some clarity shortly - from one source or another.
May be some price volatility until that occurs, but so what. What's new ;)
Gold standard antibody venous lab test now open for business and we should give it up? Capillary flow test will never match the former but I believe each will have a place. Watch the contracts come in over the coming days and weeks. The real cost to ORPH here is minimal bar the machine at cost and a handful of lab staff , rewards far outweigh.
Asking labs to stop processing home kit blood samples to determine covid-19 antibodies is a far cry from banning all home tests.
Yet again, the Govt will need to demonstrate clarity [something we all know they're particularly good at] ;)
Why don't they ban ALL testing unless authorised by PHE.
You can't have people thinking they've tested negative when infact they were [at some point] positive etc.
I can see, in the coming days, some Govt intervention on the matter of antibody tests.
Superdrug [Abbott] - home kit that requires you send sample blood to lab.
ODX - home kit with test complete in 15 mins [no lab].
Quotient/Roche - Full blood draw and lab test.
I don't have test data for ODX, but it appears to be akin to a pregnancy test: accurate guide but not 100 percent.
For instance, if a pregnancy test shows positive you'd want it confirming. Right?
Unless someone has data to tell me otherwise.
I don't get it. ODX selling home test kits but testers told not to test unless the sample comes from a gp? is that right? We have test kits but you need to go to gp to get the test done.
So your comment ref daily mail and ODX is irrelvant. Doh!
I didnt write it was..
CF should just stick to what Hvivo/Venn do best and let the others fight over this testing lark..Don't go chasing the testing rainbows as the challenge model business and Orphan database is the core business...I suppose if we pick up a few million for Covid 19 testing along the way it wouldn't be too bad for the coffers..
ODX isn't a lab test.
Andinio... Ok so the world has just been told "British health officials have told laboratories offering Covid-19 home antibody tests to stop processing blood samples from patients in the UK" and now ODX has a home test kit... But have said front line workers should get a Lab based antibody test instead? Does that sound like an accurate test to you?
Anyone have specific result data for ODX test?
Does it test SARS-CoV-2 IgM-IgG or just IgM [IgG]?
"Again these are big targets but if indeed we get ordered all those tests & government goes ahead, anything is possible."
Yes Si.. I love it when they write anything is possible. True anything is possible like its possible CF and Quotient have just formulated the vaccine to covid 19 from re-engineering the T8 Flu-v which is why they are both having interviews within a day of each other. ffs lol. If its not in an Rns its not real. Happy for ODX if it is what it is... But until it is... Its not.
ODX - Omega Diag.
CEO Colin King on Sky News talking about their kits coasting circa £10.00 wholesale to Govt.
He admits that frontline staff better suited to lab tests.
Wide market. Nothing's ever simple.
Did anyonr read the tweet before the proactive posted below.
Seems they don't yet have approval for any new tests.
If i'm reading it right.
I don't think we should assume anything. They haven't had any Rns's and the link that they kept pasting of sky news is nothing new. All they are saying is assumption. It might be warranted but until its in an Rns, Its just talk. Even if it is It's not going to change the outcome here.
So can we assume that ODX has blind sided OO antibody testing strategy with this surprise announcement of a £10 test...I wonder what Quotient and CF are thinking now..looks like not worth OO wasting good money on a machine and better to be using all the £12 million funds raised on the challenge studies and other existing science..that's what OO are good at so just concentrate on the core business including the new Covid 19 challenge model to add to the other 8 respiratory models oh and getting Imutex monetised..leave the Covid 19 testing fight to Roche, Abbott, Avacta. Novacyt and now ODX...there's too many players coming into that market now with very deep pockets..
A lot of us are here knowing that when covid 19 is finished we still have massive value. I came to OO because of the imutex possibility. The constant flow of unrelated to covid revenue. Without all of this new stuff the company was still 15m into a 81m revenue stream for the year. still rated for between 20p and 30p before the year end without the Imutex play.. Now we have the Imutex play that going to get on the Nasdaq that In all honesty would blow ODX out of the water with revenue. Not even comparable lol.. There is 1 other company on the nasdaq atm where its only product is a universal flu vaccination in phase 3 trials.. and only just in phase 3.. Same amount of shares in issue and the stock price is at 17 dollars a share... currently with zero revenue. Now we are getting free shares in Imutex 1 to 1. In December Goldman Sachs valued Imutex at $1B plus... If and more precisely when the situation arises where covid 19 disappears we still have 100% stock increase and Imutex company shares. Now add all that to current revenue with covid as it hasn't disappeared.
