Hi Barry, as you say , this isn't the place to discuss but I can resonate with what you're saying and also know folks who were negatively impacted. I personally don't like the totalitarianism that comes with taking the vax. However, the most important thing in this nonsensical world (whether vaxxed or not) is for people to unite. Stay well, stay conscious.
I have very strong views on the Covid vaccines but don't want to sour the forum with them as they are not relevant to discussion on this stock. It' s like topics that should never be discussed at dinner parties, politics, religion & now Covid.
The reason I posted is because I was interested in moniman's comment that he'd had 2 jabs but doesn't want to be continually jabbed and I think that is the real problem that Govt will face as the pro camp begins to have doubts and fall away. The fact is that the vaccines are not as safe and effective as promised - if they were we would be out of this mess pretty much by now.
Anybody who wants to see any of my rants, i'd be happy to provide my twitter name.
Mr Dribbles, that’s why the Influenza virus killed 50million people in 1918 even though it had been around for 100,000 years previously!

A vaccine that changes the way our body responds to mosquito bites [and 49% owned by ORPH ] could protect us from diseases the insects carry

Latest from Sky news on Covid vaccines, not looking to good? So When are we going to get on with the rest of the Challenge studies or will the government have to stump up more cash now that Omicron variant in wide circulation globally???

My short answer is no, I don't either.
I'll get a booster shot next year if needed (because of my age, and being overseas during the initial rollout) my 1st and 2nd jabs were comparatively late for the UK, so won't need a booster till early 2022).
After that I'll see how the land lies.
This is why I foresee a problem... if a vaccine 'fan' like me starts to hesitate then there will be many others. Governments will need to very carefully outline their future plans on this.
Anyway, I've enough depressing topics for the week and it is only Tuesday. I'm going to take a short digital detox and plan some Christmas fun instead. Take care all
The vaccines are a bridge but are not the panacea. The current variant may be providing a wobble, however if this is not serious threat to the current vaccines, then there will be a mutation that will. Law of logic will tell that. Therapuetics are required along with just simple mask wearing particularly over the winter months. What is o difficult with that? Rees Mogg "we all know each other on this side of the house". Putting aside they shared the same dorm, it is the sheer arrogance, hoodwinking & incompetence that has struck me. "Levelling up & I need to level with you" are soundbite bullcarp. If you are going to be straight with Jo Public, then says things like "we need to grow up as a society think of others & wear masks if you feel even sniffly". Woke Govt in a woke society.
Oh where are the muppets with finalising CHIM - aaaargh
I had my 2 jabs but I do not want to be continually jabbed with an experimental vaccine every month, do you?
Hey Moniman
I actually think the vaccines so far have been an incredible success. But I do share your concern about asking people to get repeated booster shots. If we get to spring next year and are asking people to get vaccine 4 or even 5 then the take up rate is going to seriously drop, IMHO.
If there is a decent therapeutic, or a universal long lasting vaccine, then great. Without that think there will be a problem.
Government and Co’s late 2020 says… you need a Covid vaccine and you’ll be okay, it’s a miracle! Oh dear our experimental vaccines aren’t as good as we thought they were you’ll need a 2nd vaccine shot in 6 months, oh sorry make that 8 weeks and you’ll definitely be okay. Sorry our experimental vaccines are even worse than we first thought so anyone over 50 will “have to” have a 3rd dose 6 months after your 2nd dose!!!, Sorry again the vaccines are even less effective than our worst predictions, so everyone will now need a 3rd dose after just 3 months!!!! Oh fcuk# just come back every week and get a Covid jab and we promise you’ll be fine??? I’m getting concerned about this, is anyone else? Bye the way keep on eating the burgers!!! I knew I could always trust a politician!!! Aimho Adyor!!!!
