Yes Bloomberg is saying economic outlook uncertainty again with cases increasing again
Japan now ! On top of India’s soaring cases
Hope we can produce enough tests for all these countries!! ?
I agree, just as lockdown has eased and people are mixing again, recipe for disaster.
People (and the markets) seem to have the attitude (again) that iit is all over. Im assuming this is due to a lack of exerpience and education relating to disease outbreaks like this.
People are reactiving very childishly to restrictions and testing without considering that at the moment there is literally no option other than full lockdown. There seems to be a movement which wants no restriction and no lockdown, this mixed in with a patholoogical desire to see teh ruling party destroyed in teh process I think these people need to be careful what they wish for.
Even in 1918 there were localised measures and those place that used them reduced the impact alot. Spanish flu blew itself out in two years but killed 50 mil in doing so. Im not sure what the alternativfe is other than testing testing testing

The British government added the country to its 'red list' on Monday but was accused of acting weeks too late as more than 100 people in the UK have now tested positive for this Indian variant since the end of March, while some 900 people have been arriving on flights from India every day.
The new variant, B.1.617, is believed to spread more easily and could potentially be more lethal than other strains, while doctors say that their patients are significantly younger than in the first wave.
Medics in Delhi, which last night imposed a week-long lockdown, say that two thirds of their new patients are under-45.
'We are also seeing children under the ages of 12 and 15 being admitted with symptoms in the second wave. Last year there were practically no children,' said Khusrav Bajan, a consultant at Mumbai's P.D. Hinduja National Hospital and a member of Maharashtra's Covid-19 taskforce.
