...completely forgot to mention I also hold Lloyds :-( A moment of madness back in late March when I thought it seemed too cheap. Yeah, for a reason you idiot! Hopefully with this mad rush for house purchases the mortgage business will boost results temporarily so I can break even @ 36p and get out!!! lol
@Shareexpert - I have holdings here @ 1.15, Meggitt @ 2.50 (massive potential long term IMO with defence contracts keeping it afloat until aviation picks up) and Royal Mail @ 2.08. Ah, also hold City Pub Group @ 50p (kicking myself for not selling last month!). Recently sold ASOS, Luceco and Halfords from March purchases so very happy with things this year. Now searching for the next opportunity! There's still plenty of bargains out there. Good luck all!
I have a few I'm watching hoping to average down into BT and Taylor wimpey . I bought into NEX at 2 pounds back in April thinking it was a good investment and watched it go down I then averaged down at 1 18 to give an average of 1.34 so in profit now. Think it has a long way to go but happy so far. My biggest investment atm is in CINE wish I'd invested more here than there but hey ho
agree with that. Also don't be fooled by a share being at or near a 52 week low. That means nothing in this climate. They can & probably will go lower!
Yes I should have added ITV, Aviva and Taylor Wimpey to my list. I have followed the progress of covid intensely for months on end and have stuck to a strategy throughout and it has served me extremely well. My current thinking is that we'll see choppy waters for the next month and so now is not the time to jump in if you have a little cash set aside. Minus positive vaccine news there isn't really anywhere for the stock market to go right now. Cases will inevitably rise and so will hospitalisations/deaths (but not to the degree of March/April) and the threat of a second lockdown will loom large. If the shares you and I have both mentioned drop another 10%+ based on sentiment alone then that really will be an opportunity that can't be missed...
I've pencilled in a positive vaccine update for between 4 and 8 weeks time. Of course this is all guesswork but it's based on substantial research and rumination.
Apologies for going off topic here. I consider NEX the best opportunity in the entire ftse index but it's important to diversify however good the opportunity is!
I'm looking at BP, ITV, L&G, Taylor Wimpey (all looking quite appealing ) RR-risky one. Holding fire at moment as all on downtrends
I can't find another company that matches NEX's risk/reward profile but my four main holdings are 1) NEX 2) Boohoo 3) Novacyt 4) Synairgen and then a smaller holding in 5) Associated British Foods
I'm looking at a number of others over the next few months if they drift down further on the hope of catching a rebound from vaccine news in late Oct/November - BP, Rolls Royce, Saga.
What other shares are others in here and recommend as solid safe places that will rebound in six months.
Am very happy with my NEX holdings and how it’s moving.
I’m also in Boohoo and they release their interim results next Wednesday morning which should be fantastic.
I’m also in AML as well with an average at 46p
Keep seeing these USA shares multi bag like Peck, SunW and SPI but am always too late how do people know it’s about to happen?
haha, yea Teddy i'm same. You deffo made no mistake getting in over here. Was always just a matter of time before this started the harvest. yea i'm keeping eye on BP as well. Will put a chunk in there at some stage. got a bit further to drop i think. There's loads of good, cheap shares at the moment but i'm loaded in here so will only go fairly small time on the other stuff. IAG for me is really uninvestable now. Bit of a casino bet sub 80p i guess, bit of a day trade type job perhaps. wish i'd never invested in that one at all tbh. worst gambit i made in shares terms & lucky to come out in one piece. Lots of warfare on that bb now!
@Paddy: Very tempted but topped up here and so glad I did. I am 80% Nex and 20% BT, I will have a dabble with IAG but I will wait until it gets to 75p as the world has just become a whole lot tougher with aviation, forget antibody tests, they need a vaccine! The 7th of October will be an interesting day. What the hell is happening at BP and now RDSP below a tenner!
We All knew a positive RNS would be massive, hopefully this is just the start!
Shame SGC couldn't hang onto the shirt tails a bit tho?! Cant win them all!
Well done all invested here you deserve it ,and good to see it hold the high of the day.
Teddy, i thought you were going to bail outta here back to IAG the other day. LOL
And there was me considering to sell up at 11:30am to make up a few points to buy back in after the usual afternoon Nex drift, so glad I didn’t.
