I’ll concede that there may be some forward guidance but delaying the publication to ensure including a new contact in the audited results doesn’t make sense to me, particularly when contract negotiations can unexpectedly run on or fall over for any number of as yet unknown reasons.
Interesting concept, future performance. Please explain how it works as an investment tool.
The audited results are based on past performance and future performance absent of any contract/agreement is moot. That's my view.
Note: The following constitutes founded speculation.
Fact:
While the audit might not have been delayed due to an approaching contract, the late inclusion of a new contract in future estimates could reasonably delay an audit. An audit should examine and test evidence supporting the figures contained in the financial statements. It should assess the accounting principles and estimates used by the company in preparing their financial statements.
The annual report should also perform fundamental analysis (FA), which is a method of measuring a security’s intrinsic value by examining related economic and financial factors. Fundamental analysis is important in determining a stock's real or "fair market" value. Fundamental analysts study anything that can affect the security's value, from macroeconomic factors such as the state of the economy and industry conditions to microeconomic factors like the effectiveness of the company's management and contracts. The end goal is to arrive at a number that an investor can compare with a security's current price to see whether the security is undervalued or overvalued.
As many have pointed out, most contracts have gone nowhere. IF auditors had reviewed contracts prior to releasing announcements and annual reports, we investors might have suffered much less.
That’s very kind of you both. I’d not seen him for 30 years so I’m saddened but not grieving, but there was an outpouring of grief from his friends and the local community that surprised his family even about how much he’d done to help people who were struggling for one reason or another without doing so for any other reason than it was in his nature. He was a larger than life character in many ways and his family are understandably grieving but taking solace from the messages people are sending - and there are many hundreds of them. I know I’d not have anything like that when I leave this earth. RIP JP!
That's very sad NGR1616 and they were very unlucky. I really hope that doesn't happen to many more people. It definitely does seem to be a regular occurrence even when vaccinated that you can have 2 days to a week of feeling pretty wiped out.
A childhood friend of mine succumbed to Covid 2 weeks ago, 4 days after being admitted to hospital. 50 years old. Overweight I have to say but double vaccinated.
I don't know BeContrarian. COVID's running rampant right now. We appear to have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. My weekend was cancelled with a few hours notice when lots of my friends reported positive cases on Friday. A significant amount are debilating despite vaccination.
Whichever way you cut it, something is brewing. The volumes are up since Friday, the RNS hasn’t produced a negative market response, and 99% of the time, a delay of any description is viewed as a negative. It also seems very last minute to be announcing auditing delays, something like this could’ve been foreseen a while back, so I don’t think the COVID delay theory holds much water.
Call me an eternal optimist but something is telling me news might be on the way. The simple logic to my thinking is that there is a degree of flexibility when posting results to the market, whereas a contract must be RNSd as soon as it’s signed. Perhaps they are hoping to get something over the line to coincide with results and are just finalising a few details first? Just a theory…
It would appear that transaction for 666k shares was a buy. The price was 20.40p
There's already a contract in place with the Asian customer isn't there? We just don't have any details and are unlikley to get any for a couple of years. Won't necessarily result in any commercial products before you jump in BTB.
Relatively large volume trades just gone through though.
