The transactions below took place yesterday but they were cancelled & only been reported earlier this afternoon. They were part of three big sell/buy transactions made by someone to block the sp recovery after the RNS and to drop the BID. This is called "Spoofing" : Traders or MMs spoof the BID by selling large blocks of shares to drop the BID then cancel the order(s) before it executes on the exchange."
"In the U.K., the Financial Conduct Authority and the courts are authorised to fine spoofers. According to the FCA, "Abusive strategies that act to the detriment of consumers or market integrity will not be tolerated"

I spotted the market manipulation yesterday :
"As for the share price reaction to the news, I think a big shareholder put a cap on the share price recovery when he offloaded 3 blocks of 500k:
05-Dec-19 14:11:41 3.60 500,000 18.00k

.......... Midatech IR should do something about this!
Smashing news, impressive pipeline progress achieved so far and funding doesnt seems to be a problem. Back in September the company managed to get 6.6m Euro funding from the Spanish government [The company is pleased to announce that it has received funding of €6.6m (the "Loan") under the Spanish Government Reindustrialisation ("Reindus") programme to support the Company's manufacturing facility in Bilbao, Spain. This brings the total public financing available for this project to up to €8.5m, including previous grant and loan amounts recently approved by the Basque regional government.] & earlier today it secured $3m from US institutional investor and now 2.6m EU Grant for further clinical development of MTX110.

The RNS was released abit late in the afternoon so I think the news will sink in this evening & we'll see a nice bounce back above 3p tomorrow morning GLA
I'm new to the company but it looks like we could be receiving results of a recent clinical trial (extract from RNS dated 8 October). Could be a good time to be invested here..
'Commencement of MTD201 Phase 1 Study
Midatech (AIM: MTPH.L; NASDAQ: MTP), the R&D biotechnology company focused on delivering innovative oncology and rare disease products to patients, announces that further to the announcement made on 20 September 2019, its MTD201 Phase 1 study ("Study 102") for the treatment of acromegaly and neuroendocrine tumours (NET) has commenced.
This data will then be analysed, with top line results expected by the end of 2019 or early in 2020.'
I will certainly be looking to get in tomorrow morning as the current price looks significantly too low in my view.
The company's CFO holds 1,000,000 shares, purchased in the first week of October this year at an average of over 6p per share. That's well over double today's price and was paid before today's excellent £2.6 million grant news.
A great vote of confidence in the company's value from the boardroom and a clear indication of how much potential upside there is in the current share price.
