My wife is Ukrainian and was brought up under the USSR system. I would certainly not dispute that the problems lie with the Russian regime and not the Russian people. Everything I have said is factual.
My husband worked in Russia for more than 10 years and the things you are saying are actually not correct. Sorry. Russian people are the most friendly nation if to look closer please don’t mix Russia and ex USSR. And the main thing is that R. people and the government are two different things. Nobody likes R government, but sadly it is so corrupt and full of criminals, that R people just prefer to keep living their lives as they are, instead of going against the government and end up as Mr. Novalny.
Regarding “ been indoctrinated since birth to despise "the west"- sorry, this is ridiculous, a third of the country has international families spread over the world, with no such a thing you are posting here. No offence, but let’s just be honest.
The Dow and Nasdaq have another 10pct plus to fall imo - stocks are way way overvalued - fund managers now starting to wake up to value stocks that pay dividends - companies that actually MAKE money rather than being promised the rewards in 20 years time - money will flood into these stocks going forward imo as funds look for safety options - MKS will be one of them
gla dyor etc
92% of Ukrainians voted to approve Independence in 1991. They are proud people and will fight to keep their independence, as they have been doing since 2014.
Putin has learned from the illegal occupation of Crimea, Ukraine, that there is little appetite to remove them by force. This encourages him to go further and reclaim Ukraine, most likely the territory east of the river Dnieper. Putin wrote a lengthy essay in 2021, and his intentions are very clear.
The propaganda about NATO is a charade and will simply be used to justify his actions to the Russian people, who have of course been indoctrinated since birth to despise "the west".
I think Putin is trying to provoke the division of Ukraine.
The east and south of the country is 90% Russian speaking and is broadly pro Russian.
Putin would like better links to the Crimea and its 12 month of the year naval ports - his other ports ice up in the winter.
My guess is that there will be some sort of internal insurrection in Eastern Ukraine and Russian troops will be invited in by a new regime to create stability.
This would effectively be a fait accompli and the West would have the choice of accepting it or starting a war.
I am not aware Mks have any operations in Ukraine or that they supply the company.
Any impact on the general market would largely depend on sentiment and the extent of the UK’s involvement.
I doubt the UK would get anymore involved than it already is by soft power.
Thoughts with Ukraine and here’s hoping there isn’t more blood loss like Donbas.
I think we have another big problem coming when the Soviet Union moves into the Ukrainian the market will go into free fall……
FTSE 2% OFF IT'S HIGH. Hardly a crash.
Yes, also after those results, moving into TO territory.
World markets experiencing a hell of a “correction”. I call it a crash.
And that can include people!!
THe very best of luck.
We tend to clutter lives with lots of unnecessary things,
a more positive aspect of illness is it tends to bring clarity
on what is important and more particularly what is inconsequential.
And often a lot of what you previously viewed as important
turns out to be pretty inconsequential.
SP a strong buy at these daft prices !!
JJ, I hope you are feeling optimistic-you sound on good form! Tough journey I know and much to occupy the mind in contemplation and letting things go. You sound like your on top of it. Good luck JJ.
Mks sp is a strong guide to high st for many analysts into retail. Stands to reason it will feel the trust of good and bad sentiment.
Mks is between Trade update and FY results, people have short memories.
Hold strong and buy where possible
fatprofits, you could say less is more. My current journey is all about this moment, the little robin on the handle of the wheelbarrow was the highlight. Yesterday it was the **** pheasant standing on one leg upon the frosted garden table.
Have fun with a smiley day. JJ
is in simplicity.
