You can't compare the value of MHC to NCYT, AVCT, ABX as they are in different areas of specialism. .etc... but i suppose you could compare this to Randox. Randox got a 500m pound government contract last year, I suspect a contract of around the same would be good enough here
How old is this announcement? (Using Concepta not MHC plc)
Lean, focused and addressing new markets with new tests: cost based managed to ensure a capital efficient operation
As previously notified on 29 December 2020, the Company's COVID-19 testing service has been added to the UK Government's approved COVID-19 private testing providers list for General Testing, and the Test to Release for International Travel scheme introduced on 15 December 2020.
Whilst the Company is engaged in commercial discussions with a number of parties for the supply of COVID-19 testing kits, no contracts have been signed to date, nor is there any certainty that any of these discussions will result in commercial agreement.
I might be barking up the wrong tree but seems to be lots of connections
Abingdon Health provides innovative rapid testing solutions to a global client base and has Europe's largest lateral flow test contract manufacturing capacity. Abingdon Health's two sites in York and Doncaster, UK are able to produce millions of rapid tests per month.
''The tests will be getting down towards 10s of pennies each, certainly less than £1. You can already easily buy packs as a consumer where the tests are less than a fiver each. If you're buying millions the cost tumbles''.
Er, don't think so!

m-Health partnership agreement signed with Concepta PLC
Abingdon Health announces m-Health partnership with Concepta PLC: Concepta to use Abingdon Health's lateral flow Smartphone tech, AppDx®.
(AIM: CPT ) announces that it has agreed to outsource manufacturing for myLotus® with Abingdon Health allowing the Company to focus on product commercialisation.
The Company has signed various agreements with Abingdon Health Ltd ("Abingdon Health"), a leading UK rapid test developer and manufacturer, to acquire Concepta's lateral flow test manufacturing site in Doncaster, for the technical transfer of the manufacturing processes, the further development of Concepta's lateral flow devices, and for the continuing contract manufacturing and supply of myLotus® testing strips.
As part of the asset purchase agreement, Concepta will assign the leases on the facility and machinery, transfer the staff, and will sell residual manufacturing equipment to Abingdon Health. Under the agreement Concepta will receive a total cash consideration of approximately £0.3m.
The change in manufacturing strategy follows the announcement made on 29 January 2020 to further improve the efficiency of the Company's cost-base. Having already achieved a 30% cost reduction across the Company, this move to outsource manufacturing is expected to generate annualised overhead costs savings of at least £0.23m.
Now: Home testing is a growing market with significant white space due to1.Change in mindset COVID-19 making home testing more desirable and expected2.Behaviour changing avoidance of physical attendance for many interactions – remote communication the new normal3.Familiarity with online purchasing of tests – now moved beyond fertility and diabetes4.Understandingthat overall general health can impact susceptibility5.Preventative mindsetthinking ahead and proactively avoiding/preparing6.Affordabilityrealistic pricing will drive adoption, no need to ‘go private’
We buy tests from Ygen and sell so why can't we do the same from Abingdon or Avct? I assume they will be selling the Pcr version through the retailers.
why would any of the big outlets buy from MHC, surely they will go straight to the manufacturer? Won't the discussions with retailers be more about their other products they are bringing to market and not Covid related?
Phoebus, interesting pointer to sbi. Just checked their website and they are planning to supply the day 2 and 8 test kits in addition to the day 5 test to release. Day 2 and 8 testing kits I thought had to be bought via the gov website. Maybe mhc will supply day 2 and 8 test kits for the gov too?
All are connected Abingdon bought our manufacturing site. We have a deal with Abingdon for their app which is ready in 2022. Avct have a deal with Abingdon now Avct booked a trademark for their software after a deal with Abingdon called AffiDx so are they using Abingdons app for that? Abingdon will be manufacturing for Avct and us. It would make a lot of sense if MHC become the retail Distributor as they are in discussions with retailers assuming that is Boots and Amazon. I am amazed they have not done a deal for lfts yet in Covid.
Davand just pcr at the moment in the Covid test but I am wondering if they will join up with Abingdon Avct and sell their Lft tests
Do SBI supply a test or just the lab facilities only?
Ncyt also supply many of those on the list no doubt.
SBI and YGEN.
Or should say the other two.
Which three are those? Do you mean £8B tender, if so it's for lateral flow, do mhc supply Lft or just PCR?
As far as I can see MHC is one of only three UK listed stocks that's on the UK government's list of testing providers. I feel certain they will get a contract win from this £2B budget.
Well the start to the day bears no relationship to what was promised. By so many .
(Don't tell BAKKY) ssshhh
Government will be announcing test contracts. Share price may touch 10p just on anticipation.
Imagine what share price will be when huge contracts to MHC will be announced.
Government + retail contracts = £1 share price.
