That will be popular Mick......not
The sooner satin, I mean Putin, is deposed the better.
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a measure that will get rid of the upper age limit for military recruits, according to the TASS news agency.
The bill, which was already passed by the Duma last week, will allow army veterans to return to service and help the country conduct its military operation in Ukraine.
The limit in place up to now stopped Russian citizens over the age of 40 from signing up as recruits.

MORE cannon fodder !!
MVarawa
The odds are still firmly stacked against Ukraine, Putin is well prepared for a " prolonged conflict " of attrition.
Don't believe what you read in the media, the balance of military manpower and assets is overwhelmingly in Russia's favour.
hardup.
And within that 9 months, the autumn and winter will return, turning the wide-open countryside into mud once again where Russian tanks will be get bogged down once again. Russia's equipment will deteriorate by the day, and Russian morale will get lower by the day. I do not understand why the Ukrainians have not tried to destroy the Crimea Bridge, which would throw the Russian resupply chain into disarray, but there could be a reason for this inaction.
I would also point out that the Russians are lacking trained and qualified troops and are using up a large proportion of the stockpile of advanced weapons. The Russian government extended the age into the late 40s for men to enlist in the army, not a good sign either. And Russia still needs to watch its back, where would China use its tanks and infantry?
"and that was from some retired, military guy,on sky news, the other day"
And that retired Military guy also said that Putin has a nine month window in which to win the war as it will take 9 months before the Ukraine Military will be able to benefit from the heavy weapons/artillery/vehicles that is being supplied by the west. It will take this long to train the Ukrainian forces to use the equipment supplied, so these forces cannot be used on the front line to fight until then. So until these forces are trained and put into action with the heavy equipment supplied by the west the Russians should have the upper hand.
"Russia has eight to nine months left to win the war before Ukraine's counteroffensive will be able to push Russian forces out of the country, former NATO General Konstantinos Loukopoulos said.
Talking to Al Jazeera, Lieutenant General Loukopoulos, a retired NATO commander who has taught tank warfare at military academies in Kyiv and Moscow, said that Ukrainian forces have recently been successful at pushing back Russian troops in the northern cities of Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv, but they will need to put all the weaponry supplied by Western countries to use to defeat Russian forces and take back occupied territory.
But that will take time, said the former general. Ukraine will need up to nine months to assimilate the military equipment it has received from Western countries to support its counterattack on Russia, according to Loukopoulos.
Tanks and armored vehicles need an initial stage of personal training and team training for the driver, gunner, reloader and commander," Loukopoulos told Al Jazeera.
"They need tactical training, including test firing and exercises, which cannot be done in a few weeks. The training cycle is at least six months, and that doesn't change in wartime," he said.
"For Ukraine to absorb the weapons from the West and make them operational, form the right units, and train them, it needs eight, nine months. It can't pull active units from the front to train them," the former general told Al Jazeera, adding that that is the timeframe Putin has to win the war in Ukraine.
The Greek former general believes that right now Russian forces have the upper hand in Ukraine, but there could be an upheaval in the next few months as Ukrainian forces start operating all the equipment sent by the West.
"After a few months, with training of reserve units, there could be a [Ukrainian] strategic counteroffensive that could throw the Russians out," Loukopoulos said. But right now, he believes Ukrainian forces cannot launch such a large-scale counterattack."

'Putin could suffer a massive heart attack at any time and die'
Would be a really useful cover story
Bumble 1968
Well, they have found American-made microchips in Russian Helicopters, which have been shot down in Ukraine. and French optics in destroyed Russian armoured vehicles. We have been exporting important technology, to our potential enemies Russia and China for decades, money speaks loudest to Western businesses and Governments. Plus we have been buying oil, and gas from Russia which goes to fund their military.
I don't think Russia's general's (or the tier of power down from Putin) are stupid.
I believe that if Putin every did give the order to use nuclear weapons he was mysteriously accidentally on purpose fall from a high building!
you know putin is starting to crack.
since he starting, repeatedly,by him and his spokesman....to lift sanctions.
the clocks ticking for them?
Kruschev pulled back from the brink in the Cuban missile crisis but it was a very close shave
Gazzleberry
"I think he would. Eisenhower did. Hitler would have. Stalin would have . Kruschev would have."
Would Eisenhower have dropped the atom bombs in Japan if Japan had the atom bomb as well? I think not. Stalin and Kruschev would never have used their nuclear weapons either if there had been war with the west as the West also had nuclear weapons. I cannot see Putin using tactical nuclear weapons for fear of escalation and NATO involvement.
yeah
that's the big question gazz, would he stoop that low and use the last resort
just to save face?
some think,he would
war's of attrition?
putins supply line,is running out,fast
the old west(nato)...supply lines arnt even stretched.
and that was from some retired, military guy,on sky news, the other day
Or Putin could suffer a massive heart attack at any time and die problem solved
The point i am trying to make DC1 - Putin could be taken out or neutralized at any point - Russia must surely be waking up to the damage he is causing their country - isolation for a generation if they are lucky
MV,
Germany is a MASSIVE arms exporter to Russia.
They keep that out of the news!
LTI
Get a life.
stagecoach
And Russia has passed a new law which increases the age of men able to join the army into the 40ys sounds as though they are scraping the bottom of the barrel. And sending 50year old tanks to the frontline.
Also finding it is hard, to maintain the supply of equipment because the West is not selling them the parts they need, so the West has been selling its potential enemy the know-how to fight us!.
After months of floundering the Russian Bear is now fully awake, limitless troop numbers and military assets will now surley out last Ukraines valiant resistance.
The point i am trying to make asperger1 is no one really knows how long the war is going to last the 2 key players are Putin and zelensky and at the moment a negotiated settlement seems far off
DC1 - spot of wishful thinking - here's hoping Puntin's war will be neutralized next month
I have been reading key dates for the past few weeks and am surprised with the intelluctal calibre on this board nobody has picked up on Asperger's Putin war neutralized? What a childish comment is asperger1 an international relations expert now
