@bilboburgler you are right... the Team Backlog is used in Agile methodology project planning.. Its been adopted by most organisations.
It is worth mentioning that ITM use "backlog" in the American meaning. That is total live orders, not UK meaning which is overdue deliveries.
Wisdom of Solomon - when in doubt go 50/50 - that way you are guaranteed not being 100% wrong.
Good point dsc. Why sell if this is obviously on the horizon?
Imho it feels like they sold out with another company awaiting a feeding frenzy. Not sure but if I had a couple of £100,000+ in cash I'd be investing it where a buyer might be.....just saying why would you sell when ITM is going global ? It could be right behind Ceres soon enough when they catch up on those orders and Australia / USA are throwing billions at it too. They could have checked out on double soon enough ?
Just a thought. Dsc I still agree cash in hand at the mo makes good sense too.
Sometimes, even for directors, it's time to cash out some of your earnings.
Many times, they can buy or get new share options or in a bonus way due to company benefits.. so the sell of their shares does not always say that much.
Psmith, I'm pro ITM, I think it will deliver, but I think the price is too far ahead of the current fundamentals. I'm riding the sentiment like some of us here. The SP is not an issue if the growing income and balance sheet support it. If a company is making 5 million revenue, it has no business having a billion plus market cap. I get that the market is looking at tomorrow, but we just need to keep our expectations in check. I like your enthusiasm for the share, btw.
The drop from 350 spooked a few here, including the directors who sold out. They must know that the current valuation is nuts.
I couldn’t be more pro ITM but going on about the £50m order backlog is a little out of touch. ITM have gradually accrued this backlog over the last couple of years. Meanwhile it might be better to look at the value of goods leaving the old factory which has been minimal. I want to see orders and sales invoices not read ramps from super-investors.
My thoughts as well Mark
Orders should start to come through if the 6 GW EU requirement by 2024 is to be met. That's 1.5 GW per year. ITM factory will have a capacity of 1GW. NEL has 0.36 GW capacity. Not sure about Mcphy and others . It looks like it may be a challenge to deliver all the capacity considering other worldwide demands. Therefore all credible electrolyser manufacturers should be receiving orders. If not there's a problem!
dsc1978.......did you not digest the last trading update ?
Over £ 50 millon in the secured pipeline, over £ 200 million of high quality tender opportunities and not to forget the publicity of being the manufacturer of the largest PEM Electrolyzer installation for Shell in Germany.
I think the the current SP is more than justified for the future that ITM has ahead.
If course there is risk in any investment do as ever DYOR and only invest what you are prepared to lose.
The stock market is forward looking, but ITM need to fulfil those big orders and revenue needs to jump significantly to support the share price otherwise the bubble will burst. Nothing is a given. The price is generally irrelevant in good companies as long as the revenue keeps increasing, profits realised, cost of sales is low enough to keep much cash as possible for the company to diversify, dividend increases.
All that matters is that is it going to be making a lot of money anytime soon to support the SP?
EU has a hydrogen strategy we have meal vouchers for August.....hmmm
Shiny factory? EU promises for tomorrow? Orders are the order of the day. When they start to roll in is when the SP jumps and stays there. Meanwhile I think we’ve done pretty well riding the sentiment wave. Pleased the volatility has dropped.
