Interesting shift in the narrative for a short time. The driver shortage was absolutely due to Brexit. Nuff said. But, news broadcasts tonight dropping in the point there are bigger shortages in Europe (commercial radio) and this has been building up for years (BBC/ITN TV). But this is in the reporters narrative against distracting visual pictures, the minister speaking it has already been pulled from broadcasts on radio earlier in the day reverting back to the editorial narrative. Talk about sweeping it under the carpet - North Korea would be impressed with this standard of uniform narrative making. Remainers are still bouncing off the walls.
You've got years and years and years of this sh.it to come until you go to a polling booth and vote to return!!!!!
Shannon airport announcing United/Aa restarting Newark/Philadelphia things are definitely looking up Atb everyone
This is why I give it a 25% chance the points of entry allowed will be limited. This is probably the most significant of the details needed. If a quarantine period is required, the opening up af transatlantic routes will be meaningless. This the .gov site.
"Demonstrating your COVID-19 status
The USA has not yet confirmed that it will accept the UK’s proof of COVID-19 recovery and vaccination record. You should follow the entry rules for unvaccinated people. Your NHS appointment card from vaccination centres is not designed to be used as proof of vaccination.
The CDC has stated that, in their guidance on what constitutes someone who is fully vaccinated, COVID-19 vaccines that have been listed for emergency use by the World Health Organisation such as the AstraZeneca/Oxford and Covishield vaccines, are recognised by the US Government. How this guidance is interpreted will vary depending on the locality in the US. More details are on the CDC website."
we are close to the 200 day MA. dyor.
BB, i noticed many times, when one airline is in front of the other one, the other catches up later on..lets see if its true today..GL, hope you do well too.
Easy J nearly up double IAG. Was the aeroplane spotted earlier at Inverness an Easy J? It would explain the general increase in sp and especially for Easy J.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGVoSvhasF8
This is what it feels like holding an airline share. Scream!!!
entering the double barrel role on the smiler...... lol
Oh yes, funny how there are so many law courses and lawyers bout- yet the wages don't drop a la supply and demand.
Nice rebound here , passed my 174.2 buy in a few days ago. GL
A comment on the news about two days ago was fuel lorry drivers get the top pay band of about £60,000. I raised an eyebrow! Many moons ago I was thinking of learning HGV driving as a kind of hobby, and for the buzz. I should have done it!
One thing that will create a bit of relief would be to abandon on testing of lorry drivers if they have a vacc certificate. The border testing is putting off a lot of journeys.
Spot on. EU migration was a means to keep wages low in many jobs and so business owners loved it, as did those living in Highgate and Primrose Hill who could get their gardening done very cheap.
My father is a steel fixer and that's very hard work. It used to pay £150 a day but steadily decreased and was paying <£100 day in 2015. Has also increased since and that is one of the big benefits of brexit, working class wages increasing. I'm sure these lorry driver shortages are temporary as the labour market readjusts.
Blue Nun at Happy hour over a The Nearly There Arms later if we end at 174. Looking good
See there are apparantly 600,000 drivers in the UK holding hgv1 license.
Only 300,000 chose it as their career however.
Its because historically the pay, conditions and hours were cr@p, not because there isnt enough qualified UK people with licenses.
Its simply because the UK preferred to pay less for EU drivers.
My dad has driven one for the last 30 years.
He's chuffed to f'ck that the worm has finally turned and his wages have improved 30% and shyster employers have to pay a decent rate now.
SP might also be driven by investors looking for stocks that are on a recovery trend. Cant see much happening in S&P.
Well for once I agree with you...
The chattering classes are desperate to paint the "Brexit caused this narrative " and that's probably what will be sold to people. Good money driving one of those lorries, but our young men prefer to spend 3 years learning nonsense only to struggle to find a job paying £25k. Odd.
Not sure where they are supposed to get all these drivers from by opening the borders. There are major shortages all across the EU, Germany and Poland in much worse situation than us. It all comes down to the change requiring the Class C to be passed before higher levels. Yes, an EU law which we stupidly copied and pasted into UK law. Brexit remainers can jump around all they want believing they have found proof positive Brexit was some sort of mistake. There is a massive shortage of lorry drivers all across the EU and it was being raised as a problem as far back as 2015, well before there was any hint of a referendum!!!!!!!
Grant Shapps said fuel is there, thought that is the reason SP is turnaround.

Environmentalist goon on CH4 news last night. Claimed that a 1 degree rise to the 2.5 Paris limit would result in all ice on land melting and rising sea levels by 20m. Remember a few basic thermodynamic truths I posted yesterday? How credible then is the idea all the ice on land will melt even if all ice was currently at 0c now. And it was noticeable that this knowall was careful to avoid the water displacement trap which they are all careful about now. And bear in mind that is an average 1 degree, so it could be 3 hotter at the equator and -1 cooler where there is ice! The ice could be colder. This goes to show the false argument using statistical derivatives and then comparing the real world to them. Headline news, every day this year has been above or below the average at every weather station for all measurements [wind, rain, sun, temp...]! Therefore there must be climate change? And as for the 20m rise in sea level. I remember Trevor MacDonald showing a map of the UK submerged under a 10m rise when the north pole melts back in the 1990's on News at Ten (back in the day when the Archimedes principle was temporarily suspended from the physics of the Earth). It was nuts then, to call 20m now is just plain crazy. Do you know how much water would be required? It is absolutely nuts. There is nowhere near that amount of water on land. And the amount of energy required to melt all that ice? Even if you did start at 0c.
But the rub of it is. Was anything that goon said challenged or questioned? This so called expert had just made uttley crazy predictions that basic elementary physics blasts to pieces. But no accountability whatsoever. And you still want to believe that when a mileage cap is introduced per person over a 3 year rolling period which allows maybe one med trip every three years to 'save the planet', you think any voice opposing is going to get any sort of platform or traction in stopping it? It took mass media more than a decade to accept the archimedes principle. As we are now, getting the acceptance of the next most elementary principle, melting of ice, is going to take two or three times as long. And there are mountains of other major errors before we get into the false and doctored data accounting to fit models, sensor misreading and so much more. It is all out there, it is all known about but it is massively suppressed to keep the lie and the fraud going. Who would hold airline shares long term?
A lot of the airlines that are up are going through an RI, hard to compare both. Ryanair still down too. Im almost sure we will see the SP go up in the afternoon. IMO DYOR.
Other Airlines are already up, not sure why IAG is held up...Very strange, should go up soon.
It's very very sensitive to small news than fundamentals sometimes.
latteral flow test will be available at half term holidays, grant shapps said..thats good news. EZJ share sale details to come out on 27th sept. dyor.
Might just see blue today. Increased traffic at lil ol' Inverness airport too.
the date for OK totravel to the US will come out shortly..as airlines need to increase schedule and offer tickets.Expect an announcement very soon IMO. it's cominggggggggg...My RR is on fire, got them at 1.02, 1.07 and 1.10...just broken resistance..next stop 1.38. happy days.DYOR.
