So amber list travel with two jabs and no quarantine is dependant on being able to recognise the rest of the world proof of vacc systems? So we are denied quarantine free travel because the states has a mish-mash off registration systems and some countries don't have proper record keeping. Solution is very simple. Don't let them in. If a UK citizen vaccinated in the UK has the correct UK records, then why should they be stopped? Who cares whether a foreign vaccination can be verified or not. This looks very much like the kind of trap being developed to find a way to confuse the system and keep travel subdued. It also looks very much that a policy of, 'if one can't go then nobody can go' policy is still being implemented. There will be significant trouble over this. Restricting large parts of the adult population from freedoms because some people refuse to vaccinate. As for the excuse that children are an issue, there are plenty of places that have a no access to children rule, adults only, so that is a another excuse being used. This is a very sad situation.
And of course being long haul, IAG is not as restricted to seasonal peak travel as the other short haul operators are. Once things clear up, people will still travel further afield for holidays in the sun, and business to US. IAG is more an all year round carrier than those that make the bulk of their money in summer season.
Nice to tread water, but once there is more info that is accurate, I see this only going 1 way, despite the bumps along the road.
....... so Mr Chapps, only countries, and indeed islands, that can perform genomic sequencing will manage to get on to the green list? SO most of the world and islands are ruled out basically for ever.
mmmmmm.... minor up tick response with the over night pi orders. From 8:15 we will see whether the iis computers simply run a basic algorithm or go to dump or gain. I don't think much is going to happen until the definition, 'later in the summer' has some context. For some that would mean start of August, for other that could mean mid-September.
28th is supposed to be when the definition for amber lists is cleared up. Based on last nights deeply disappointing news I will expect an arrangement that is made to look like a positive move forward but in practice is designed to continue to stop and deter travel.
Chapps on R4 now. Lets see if there is a miss speak!
Let's ALL take the Knee and pray????????
Once the weak investors have left, this will soar. I am sure they have managed to shake the tree a bit this last week..Now we can move on and move up finally. Jet2 looks good after i picked some up at around 12 a week or so ago. All IMO.
I think the share price will gain as this is better than before and by looking at the number of flights on BA.com again today is a positive. Hopefully by July double jabbed people will be able to fly to amber list countries without the need to quarantine. This will happen. Good luck all.
I don't think the Caribbean routes will add that much more since they are on the watch list - although if they were on the green proper it would mean nothing as demonstrated with the flipping of Portugal. Frankley, most of the people holidaying in the Caribbean will not be inconvenienced much by quarantine or costs of tests. I expect a brief up tick but I think this is a profit taking day and now accept that the policy of the government is to not allow free travel for this summer.
Jtan, if I had a packet of crisps every time people predicted this to go to £1.50 I would be as big!!! People on here don't realise that this share is not going to go down now that we are nearing the end of a pandemic. IAG will survive and will do very well. If some people are expecting this to collapse, i am sorry to say but they are going to be disappointed!! If you are trying to buy back in lower good luck. All IMO.
I'm expecting a rise, but still disappointed.
I gambled on things opening up more and faster to be honest.
Missed a bit of day / swing trading due to be over-optimistic.
I can't see this moving out of the 190-210p yet. Hopefully above 210p once the bigger, main shackles are released.
Anyway, I'm holding out for 220p+.
GLA, be lucky.
Definitely blue today. Lots of flights on BA.com and FTSE 100 futures looking good. This is the beginning of a share price increase I think. We were due one at these levels and now we have some certainty of more flights from Wednesday. I booked one myself in August. GL all..All IMO.
For people who haven’t been vaccinated and going to green countries, it’s only right this would be a GREEN WATCH LIST, if you’ve been double jabbed, nothing to see then. USA will follow more quicker than you think as well.
IAG ADR bounced back following the announcement. I want to buy in the next few days so hope I haven't missed a good price.
Yes
I think so , BA site v busy , booked Palma
Yes, I believe it will. GL.
Let me consult my crystal ball and get back to you
Will this move up now on this news?
