Andy if you are saying because bad things happened before it's ok for them to happen now you're a couple of kopecks short of a rouble
Minecheck...good assessment and I've given you an uptick. However, I don't agree with FXPO going nowhere anytime soon. In its latest reports, FXPO have said they have made significant progress in finding alternate routes to the sea to restore seabourne trade. Also, with tariff free access granted to Ukraine by the EU, I can see more shipments directed towards the EU countries, providing Ukraine rail infrastructure going west is kept in tact. I think shipments in the 3rd qtr will exceed the 2nd qtr as the company becomes more savvy at navigating this war.
I agree entirely with your assessment of this war, but would like to add that it could have been avoided by Ukraine altogether. Further, the support for Ukraine within both the governments and people in the west is falling by the day; lot less than 50% of population in the west wants to make sacrifice for Ukraine and support at governmental levels is falling as well eg. lot less aid have been given to Ukraine in the past 2 months than in the previous 2 months. With prolonged inflationary pressures, winter approaching, high posibility of Republicans gaining control of the House and the Senate in mid term elections later this year in US etc etc does not bode well for Ukraine. Russia will win both the hot war and economic war. People of Ukraine will pay a heavy price whilst Zelensky will retire away somewhere a very rich man.
I'm not a big fan of most western media but consider myself smart enough to make an informed decision on whats going on by reading from credible sources. You talk like there's some big conspiracy theory that keeps us in the dark and wrongly informed about whats going on in the world. That's Russia my friend. All the free press has been shut down, facebook, twitter etc etc. If Putin was so convinced hes done the right thing there wouldn't really be any need to do that, would there? Is there propaganda on both sides? Of course there is.
How exactly was the West supposed to respond to this? Do nothing? All this rubbish about NATO pushing to far east is bull shi*t#. More like the east is pushing west into NATO for protection from Russian aggression. Putin and the Kremlin coursed this mess talking about going back to spheres of influence. Who wants to be under Putin's sphere of influence? No one. Not in Belarus or anywhere else and I don't blame them. There may not be a big Ukrainian counter offensive but good luck holding the ground for ever more. More young Russians forced into the war dying for no reason.
On this board there are well meaning people totally brainwashed by western media, and there are realists. I hate to break it to you guys, but the Kremlin won’t be targeting this board with its ‘bots’.
As a realist I am of course dismissed as a ‘bot’. Perversely the reason I’m a ‘bot’ is that I don’t swallow the 24/7 western narrative. I don’t take the party line …… the easy option, the position believed by most in the west. This non conformity apparently makes me a brainwashed ‘bot’. Very perverse logic.
Yet what exactly is it that makes you so convinced that your elite, which egregiously lied to you about Iraq, is suddenly telling the truth?
Western sanctions supposed to destroy Russia’s economy appear to be destroying western economies. Recession, mass fuel poverty, inflation, interest rate rises, falling living standards ……. these inconvenient facts are blamed on ‘Putin’s war’ when really they are the result of the West’s reaction to Russia’s actions.
Someone even mentioned that India, China et al are reaping the benefits of cheap Russian energy. Yes they are. And who is really paying the cost ……. Europe as its international competitiveness is ruined.
Russia’s economy is suffering, but not anywhere nearly as bad as European politicians promised back in February when they singularly failed to mention that they would be crashing their own economies.
Meanwhile Ukraine suffers most of all. And while we wait for Putin to be replaced by a pro western leader (zero chance), and Russia to run out of ammunition (it won’t), and Ukraine’s glorious counter offensive (won’t happen), more people die and Europe sinks even further into the mire.
And FXPO weakens, its share price going nowhere, its production falling, its exports disrupted, its credibility damaged.
Realism.
True. They are all over social media.
There is no point talking to Putin's bots here. All social media platforms are infested by them now. They are begging and pleading to force the Ukraine into peace negotiations. Putin knows his days are numbered, and clutching at any straw.
You seem to be under the impression that Putin’s imperialistic bent could be negotiated away, similar to Chamberlain’s misguided efforts with Hitler. There was no reasoning to be had with Putin, only an earlier show of force would have deterred his ambitions.
It is pleasing that Papucel’s ludicrous defamatory warning on the Rio Tinto board has been removed. Childish attempts to stifle free speech should not be tolerated, and I’m pleased that someone saw fit to report his post.
My position is crystal clear. Pumping Ukraine with weapons is prolonging a war that Ukraine will not win. The UK and US are pursuing a morally bankrupt policy of using Ukraine as a hapless proxy tool to fight Russia. Ukraine is nothing more than an expendable pawn on the geo-political chess board.
So for FXPO investors, your interests are also being sacrificed because the longer this continues the more disruption there is to FXPO sales.
And let’s be under no illusions here. The US and UK have long histories of sponsoring ‘forever’ wars. The Afghan and Iraq debacles are the two most recent and egregious examples.
Ukraine is a tragedy which was years in the making. The war represents a lamentable failure of great power diplomacy and statecraft. History did not begin in February 2022. This should never have happened, but I’m afraid that US and NATO policy since the Bucharest Declaration of 2008 have one enormous assist in driving Russia to its military operation.
FXPO investors are rightly hoping for peace. We all should. Sadly, the decision makers in Washington, London, Kiev and Moscow seem to prefer war and the continuation of it - for their different reasons.
@Minecheck I didn't say that the RU war is not the reason the SP is down, my comments are about all your posts on several boards promote this war.
You claim Putin rightness Putin stated up to Feb 28 that he will not invade UKR, then the Jewis PM is running a Nazi government, then that it is only Dombras but attacked Kiev, if you look to the convoys they were sent from Crimea to connect with Transnistria and cut UKR in have a closer look to Putin's own map to see how his real intentions were to even take Moldova https://www.skynews.com.au/world-news/vladimir-putins-dictator-ally-may-have-revealed-russias-alarming-next-european-invasion-target/news-story/cdac099e08052a94a5a3eef640a01f59, which makes him an amoral compulsive liar.
Freedom of speech is to have constructive discussions not first kill, rob, rape loot and then try to justify it. I contacted the Rio Tinto board as well all your posts on all the boards are only pro Russia/ Putin pro war propaganda trolls.
Listen to Putin's own words from Kremlin itself "UKR is not a country nor Moldova " exactly as the map sowed, a sociopath who claims that the world should go back to 1819

Every investor here had lost due to your fellow Russians actions which you continue to actively promote, just ask them to go back home and to pay for the UKR for damages.
On a board about FXPO it takes one almighty act of delusion to pretend that the war is not the single most important factor impacting the FXPO share price.
The precipitous decline in the SP reflects this rather strongly.
Papucel - By all means report me for having a view which is different to yours. If that’s your version of a liberal tolerant society then I think it speaks volumes.
If reflecting reality as I see it is now ‘criminal propaganda’ then I fear for the future of my country. You are free to believe what you wish, and if that’s to parrot western media then knock yourself out. All I ask is that others should be free to respectfully disagree.
Goodness me OracleofOldham, you are right this is turned into a RU propaganda vehicle
One said "Kiev is a Russophobe gov" ha ha ha ha what would one expect ? The criminals to get in with tanks, kill, rape, rob dead bodies and be expected with flowers?
Another said "not the whole world is against RU's war" yes it is right, I have to apologise, Belarus, North Korea, Myanmar Junta, Eritrea and Syria. Well there is a clear pattern which one doesn't have to spell out.
Thank you as well for confirming that the RU's people support Putin's war I just assumed that they are decent people, thanks for pointing Minecheck that they are all supporting criminality, I wouldn't have imagined without your explanation.
Minecheck I see that you have only 98 posts and on the most of the boards you are pointed as a Putin wars supporter, not only here. I can only with that Putin will d to your family what he does to UKR's so you would be happy with the same treatment
If you would post any other Pro Putin war posts I have to report to LSE as this is an investment board not a criminal propaganda tool
they don't, they just find chat boards with Russian or Ukrainian connotations and then spam them with pro Russian propaganda
I was just doing some stocks research when I got on this board..... then I was shocked by the support to a terrorist/ criminal state and the agreement that RU is entitled to plunder UKR.
So I wonder how could it be so many pro Russians supporters invested in a UKR company????
Anyone could enlighten me?
