It's 'shocking' what they can do with technology nowadays. ;-)
Keep thinking calm positive thoughts.

thank you - im very lucky to have friend who was 9 years in coronary care unit and then years with Boston who manufacture the ICD i have had fitted. hes been pretty comprehensive in all aspects and a few funny storys to boot. One of our other friends are world renowned psycologists who have been phenomenal with explanations and ways to deal with this mentally for me, my wife and son who experienced it first hand and my daughter who was away at university. Amazed at the number of people in my friends and family,(me and the wife included), who didnt know there is a difference between a heart attack and a cardiac arrest- most just associate the term heart attack and cardiac arrest as the same thing and anything related to heart issues.
Any way day 9 from being dead and day 6 from having my ICD fitted and all is good- frontera the exception as always..... :-))) Recovery going really well and looking positive for the future.
Thanks to all for messages of support and well wishes. Really appreciated.
Fantastic result for wales last night.....be gentle with Larry today though!
pyro, then there are sick jokes like Boris which is why many in wales and scotland want independence . Drakey has done a better job of dealing with covid than Doris and handjob. Why would we want to be ruled by millionaire , self serving , corrupt tories when we never vote for them and never will .
Mad , Daily heil , must be true then . Give me those frr production figures of yours again just to lighten things up again .
Its a mess in Wales, you have idiots called Yes Cymru and plaid Cymru who think Wales is better off independent, Welsh labour who under dripford lie to people. I know Dripford and Liane Wood. Both loners, Dripford is alcoholic, hence the blocking of pubs and clubs.
The problem with political jokes is they get elected
Unfortunately the majority of the Welsh did vote for the same.
I have relatives who would vote for the same party even if they had to sacrifice their first born and give 75% of their salaries to the party.
I think they are all as bad as each other. Some people may get into politics for the right reason but when they find out how it works have to go along with it or end their careers.
I didn't vote for them or the WAG, plus if this ever comes up trumps I will move to England.
Mad Being in England I simply do not know the reality as it is not reported upon often although GB news may well be a saviour here. I can only say that it is what the majority of the welsh people voted for. You reap what you sow, never mind the BolXXXXS and so many other song titles come to mind. perhaps the best is "when will they ever learn?"!
Dulwichman - Unfortunately in Wales we have a second rate system. Money is wasted on things like free prescriptions resulting in certain drugs for cancer etc not available here. They wasted over £10k just prior to one election writing to everyone on a waiting list, asking them to reply by 28th February if they wanted to remain on the list. The letters were sent by second class post late on the 26th February, resulting in the waiting lists becoming zero. Labour then campaigned that they had reduced waiting lists to zero in Wales. After complaints people were reinstated on the waiting lists, but not in enough time for the statistics to be used in the election campaign.
Take a look at the tale of two nations list in the link below :-

Hope you're feeling better Prodg. I don't know if this article would be of any use to you?

I can only suggest for future reference that anybody outside England then takes advantage of of the basic principle that you are entitled to a second opinion. All Gps can do this for you - it may mean that they have to look it up but they can also find out relevant waiting times. it does mean a bit of extra work for them though so good relations are helpful. The simple fact is across the UK is that Emergency treatments are about the best in the world the rest is mired in Sytems designed by MBA merchants which bear little relationships to straight line problem solving just as many of our larger Companies are. all of which costs a fortune and reduce profits. How any practitioners or company front line staff keep up beats me. Nobody seems to be able to make decisions these days
Just looked and choose and book is not available in Wales.
We are all in the UK pay the same taxes and NI contributions. It really is becoming a postcode lottery regarding healthcare.

I can only concur with your view. I would suggest that any body in England (not sure how it works for the rest of the UK) uses the choose and book system. You can choose your consultant and then you book directly into their diary. You need to get your GP to organise this and most will not advertise this option but the details are on the main NHS web site. First line says "it is your right to ......) Like you I had a shoulder issue 2 week wait to see the chief medical officer to our Olympic team and a professor at that. I have recommend this system to many friends and they all seem to have very short waits. More importantly you get to see the right consultant for your problem. The days of GP's knowing who is the best at what have been over for a while I am afraid.
When the NHS works it's second to none, but sadly, sometimes it doesn't work so well.
I am in Wales and injured my shoulder. I was in agony for months. Cortisone injections and physio were doing nothing, finally after nearly 6 months I got a hospital appointment. At the hospital instead of seeing a specialist I saw a nurse who's job it was to see if my shoulder was bad enough to see the specialist. She said it was bad enough for me to go on the urgent list. This was going to be another 6 months before I saw the specialist. I ended up going private and paying for the operation.
Luckily the company I work for give you 12 months full pay before it's reduced.
Some people don't get descent sick pay and would have had a hell of a problem with their mortgage payments etc.
hi mate great news to hear you are well and on the mend maybe take a wee toadie of the good Scottish stuff cheers mate all the best and a speedy recovery well done to the NHS as well .
